Real horror in video games has been incredibly hard to come by in the last decade or so. The Silent Hill 2’s of the world have been replaced by games like Dead Space and Left 4 Dead which emphasize action over scares. This new trailer for ZombiU gives us hope for the project despite its admittedly ridiculous title.
Not bad, right? We need to learn a lot more about the game before making a final judgment, but our first looks have been fairly promising (opens in new tab). We kind of wish they didn’t opt for the boogeyman pop-up scare at 2:07 though. The rest of the trailer had such good tension that it was completely unnecessary and undermined the low-key tone the rest of the trailer cultivates.
ZombiU is currently sounding like it will end up being a WiiU launch title, and could end up being one of the marquee titles when the system hits retail later this year.
