Apex Legends Wattson ultimate & abilities explained
Wattson’s passive isn’t the greatest, but it can be helpful if you and your team are in a desperate situation. Her passive – Spark of Genius – lets her use an Ultimate Accelerant to fully charge up her ultimate. While the Ultimate Accelerant can charge up other Legend’s ultimate, it rarely fully charges it. This is beneficial for Wattson as her ultimate, the Interception Pylon, can destroy incoming grenades, arc stars and thermite, as well as ultimate abilities such as Gibraltar and Bangalore’s air strikes.
Her ultimate isn’t just useful for defensive plays either. One of the abilities of Interception Pylon is that it restores shields, so if you get close enough to the Pylon and still have sights on the enemy? It can give you an overwhelming advantage if played right.
How to play Wattson in Apex Legends – Tips and Tricks
- Electric fences deactivate for you and your team – worried about running through your own fences? Don’t be. Your fences know when it’s you and your team and deactivate when you’re nearby. For that reason, maybe don’t stand by them when you’re in a firefight with an enemy team that’s close by. They may take advantage of that.
- Interception Pylon is neutral – like most ultimates, it doesn’t matter if you’re friend or foe, if you’re in their range then you’re going to get hurt. For Wattson’s ultimate, enemy grenades may fizzle out, but so do yours. The same goes for ultimates and shields. If you’re not careful, the enemy team may benefit just as much as you.
- Always keep an Ultimate Accelerant on you – Even if you don’t think you’re going to use it, you’ll be surprised at how useful they can be if you’re in a terrible situation and need a leg-up with extra defence. Use that Ultimate Accelerant and bam, you’ve got your ultimate and the upper hand.
- Use your fences to block off enemies during endgame – Endgame is one of the most tense situations in Apex Legends, but it doesn’t need to be. If you and your team are in a good position, such as a building, you can use your fences to thwart the enemy by forcing them through the fences and putting them at a disadvantage.
How does Wattson’s hitbox compare to other Legends?
Wattson is much smaller than Gibraltar and Caustic, and despite what her puffy jacket may look like, she’s actually in the same size category as Lifeline and Wraith. Wattson has the passive ‘Low Profile’, which means that she takes 5% more damage due to her smaller hitbox in comparison to other Legends like Mirage and Bloodhound.
