Scarlett Johansson has identified her next leading role, with the Lucy star set to take the lead in an adaptation of Jon Ronson’s non-fiction book.
Ronson’s book puts the notion of psychopathy under the microscope, going on to explore the theory that many of life’s most successful individuals have psychopathic tendencies.
The adaptation will be directed by Jay Roach with Futurama writer Kristin Gore set to turn the book into a drama, described by Deadline (opens in new tab)’s report as a “psychological thriller”.
That’s about as far as it goes in terms of concrete details, although it certainly looks an interesting choice of material for Roach, who has been moving away from his comedy background of late.
No release date has been confirmed for the film as yet, but Universal will be hoping Johansson’s box-office appeal can serve up another box-office payday after Lucy took home a whopping $460 million worldwide.
