Raid Mode is an unexpectedly good time in Resident Evil Revelations 2 (opens in new tab), and soon you’ll be able to share the joy with distant friends. Capcom told Eurogamer (opens in new tab) that the online mode for the action-packed (and gleefully goofy) side quest will go live on March 31.
Raid Mode lets you revisit environments from all the currently released episodes, going on a monster-slaying spree as you take out scads of familiar enemies with some unfamiliar modifiers: some might be invisible save for a smoky trail, while others burst into ice when they die, freezing nearby threats.
It’s kind of like Resident Evil’s longstanding Mercenaries Mode, but with more randomized elements to keep you guessing, and unlockable stuff like new weapons and flaming bullets. Capcom says it doesn’t have any plans to enable online support for the local co-op-tional campaign, but it always intended to bring Raid mode online after all four episodes went live.
The finale will roll out this week, and you can catch its in-game teaser below. Keep in mind that this will almost definitely spoil you on some of the surprises from the first three episodes, so watch at your own peril!
