Tenet release date: When can we expect Christopher Nolans new movie in cinemas?

The Tenet release date… has been confirmed? We think. Trying to wrap our head around the comings and goings of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster on the ever-shrinking summer schedule has been as confusing as trying to work out the premise of the movie itself.

But now we should have an answer. Warner Bros. seemingly wants to forge ahead with a late August release date for Tenet in some countries, while the US is likely to get it a little later. Find out what that means for you down below.

Tenet release date: August 26 in the UK, Europe, and Asia; September 3 in the US

Tenet was once set for July 17, then July 31, then Wednesday, August 12. It’s now been moved to August 26 in most regions, namely the UK, Europe, and Asia, as well as Canada.

In the US, it’s a different story. It’s set to open just before Labor Day weekend on September 3 in select cities. That means those who regions and states struggling to deal with the current pandemic are unlikely to see Tenet, despite its relative unimportance in the grand scheme of things, until later in the year.

Despite that, plans are in place for Tenet to have a longer-than-normal run in theaters. So, if you can’t see it now, there’s every chance it’ll still be playing in a cinema near you down the line. We’ll update this post with each major city’s Tenet release date as soon as we find out more. Just watch out for spoilers!
