If you’re busy trying to figure out just what’s going to go down in Game of Thrones season 7 (opens in new tab) then it might be comforting to know that most of the actors don’t even know what’s in store for Westeros in this summer’s season – but the finale shouldn’t disappoint.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1 with Nick Grimshaw (available for UK listeners here (opens in new tab)), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) says that cast members only get bits and pieces of their scripts, so they have to go on their own fact-finding missions, “I make educated guesses and we try and get answers and bits of information from the writers, but they keep it close to their chest.”
Talking of keeping things close to their chest, the actress wasn’t very open about the upcoming season seven finale but her brief response will whet even the most jaded Thrones fan’s appetite: “It’s so exciting…it’s just a great finale, it makes me excited for the series after.”
Following on from previous Thrones finales (including last year’s effort Winds of Winter (opens in new tab) which literally brought the house down) will be a tough task, though…
The “series after” that Maisie Williams talks about? Well, Game of Thrones season 8 could have six episodes (opens in new tab), eight or ten – depending on who you want to believe (opens in new tab). What is for certain is that we’re in for a hell of a ride getting there.
Game of Thrones season 7 will air this summer on HBO.
