Watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker online – heres how to stream it around the world

It’s one of the most talked-about films of the last few years, so knowing how to watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker online might be on your mind. Is it a worthy end to the saga? Or is it a disappointment? You can find out easily enough by grabbing a Disney Plus membership (opens in new tab) – the movie is available there.

The finale landed on May the 4th (be with you) 2020, so now the entire Skywalker story can be streamed in one place. And for very little, we might add; a fairly low Disney Plus subscription (opens in new tab) cost allows you to binge the entire Star Wars saga without paying all that much. It’s certainly cheaper than buying the sci-fi epic on Blu-ray or DVD.

See the Star Wars saga in order

So, what’s the deal with Rise of Skywalker? Taking place one year after Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the galaxy has been shaken by the apparent resurrection of Emperor Palpatine – that crusty-faced villain from the first six films who got bumped off in Return of the Jedi. Now he’s gathering an army to oversee the dominance of his new ‘Final Order’, and it’s up to our heroes to stop him. Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that this is a finale full of spectacle.

If you’re curious about where it fits within the saga, the chronological order is as follows:

  1. Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (opens in new tab)
  2. Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones (opens in new tab)
