The post Watch Dogs Legion Assassins Creed DLC coming next week with a new playable character appeared first on Game News.
]]>Darcy, who you can see scaling rooftops and executing lethal takedowns in classic Assassin’s Creed style in the above trailer, will be available to season pass owners next Tuesday, August 24. However, if you don’t own the season pass, you’ll still get the new story content and world events free if you own the base game.
In a few ways, Watch Dogs Legion’s Assassin’s Creed DLC is like an homage to the latter’s more stealth-focused origins. It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen a member of the Assassin Order in full garb drop down and stab the shit out of someone. Plus, the song in the trailer is ‘A Sneaking Sense of Liberty’ from the Assassin’s Creed Unity soundtrack, an obvious callback to the series’ past.
If you want to jump back into Watch Dogs Legion for the Assassin’s Creed DLC, the season pass is currently available at a steep discount from the PlayStation Store (opens in new tab) and Microsoft (opens in new tab), or at regular price on PC. The season pass adds the post-game story expansion Bloodlines, four new playable characters, and three new DedSec Missions.

]]>In the new gameplay demo that you can see below, the Legion of the Dead mode for Watch Dogs Legion is demoed in full across 20 minutes. Right now, Legion of the Dead is still in the alpha testing phase, and is therefore only available for PC players of Watch Dogs Legion to partake in, while the PvE mode is still going through the development stages at Ubisoft.
In Legion of the Dead, you can tackle the encroaching undead threat either solo or with up to three other online players. Your mission is relatively simple: find and secure a certain number of Supply Packages, and then reach the extraction point somewhere in London to flee the undead forces.
What’s really interesting about the Legion of the Dead footage seen above is that all vehicles appear to be disabled for the player characters. You can’t simply jump into a car and power through hordes of the undead, and since you’ve got pretty scant ammo reserves and health, you need to be pretty careful when roaming the open streets of London.
The best news about it is that console players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Google Stadia will be able to start slaying the undead hordes as part of Title Update 4.5 from today.
That brand new update was revealed as part of the Watch Dogs Legion roadmap and should be hitting later today on June 1. The update is going to enable 60 frames per second gameplay for players on all next-gen consoles, and will also allow players within the same console family to play with others across console generations. For example, PS4 players will be able to link up with PS5 players for Legion’s online modes, and the same goes for Xbox players across all three systems.
Additionally, a brand new Tactical Op PvE activity for online co-op will be debuting with the new patch later today on all platforms. New playable character Helen will be joining the fray for players to utilize alongside the new updates, and later in July, original Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pearce and Watch Dogs 2 sidekick Wrench will be available for recruitment via new story expansions. Ubisoft sure has plenty of content planned for Legion over the coming few weeks.

]]>The post Watch Dogs Complete Edition rated for next-gen consoles by the ESRB appeared first on Game News.
]]>The official ESRB page for Watch Dogs Complete Edition had previously included the original versions for the PS4 and the Xbox One, but the “Platforms” section of the page has now been expanded to include both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. The new consoles have also been added to the “Users Interact” and “In-Game Purchases” section of the page, making a pretty strong case that the Complete Edition is next-gen-bound.
Watch Dogs is shaping up to be a big part of the first quarter of the next generation with Watch Dogs Legion positioned as a launch title for both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 for their respective debuts. A revamped Complete Edition makes sense for the new platforms, as it would not only run with the bonuses of improved console hardware, but also introduce new players to the game’s universe alongside Legion.
For now, the next-gen Complete Edition remains unconfirmed, but while Ubisoft’s next-gen plans are still a bit unclear, ESRB ratings are pretty reliable for titles like this. With cautious optimism, fans can start to look forward to a version of the Complete Edition that will be fully optimized for their shiny new console.

Alright, so you’ve been through Skye Larsen’s home and infiltrated Blume Tower, and killed the small army she had defending her. You’ve reached Skye Larsen, heard her beg and plead with you to spare her life and upload her. What do you do? Is there any consequence to picking one over the other?
The short answer is no. Picking either choice does not influence the outcome of the game, or the storyline, in any way. So ultimately, you can go with your gut feeling. If you feel sympathetic to Skye, upload her to the cloud. If you agree with Nowt, kill her.
Picking either option does change the ensuing dialogue somewhat though. If you kill her, Nowt is glad and Bagley will suggest taking a selfie with the corpse, in his charming British ways. Nowt will decline to work with DedSec in future, before changing her mind and showing up at the safehouse.
If you upload her, Nowt is furious, as expected. She swears at you a bit, reminds you of Skye Larsen’s horrors, then hangs up on you. Don’t worry though, because she rings back a few minutes later and apologises. She’ll still end up in the safehouse, giving you 404 contracts.
Also, when you finish the mission, you’ll see a news video explaining that Daybreak — the software created by Skye — is being shut down by Blume anyway, so she dies nonetheless. Happy endings all around!

]]>Game director Kent Hudson talked us through the process. As you may have heard, every NPC in the world of Watch Dogs: Legion is a potentially playable character. But you’ll have to win them over, completing missions to gain their trust on behalf of DedSec.
Sherry Lewis is a beekeeper you find working in Algate – not obvious resistance material. But she’s been radicalised by a bad workplace experience: her boss stole her research and sold it to the military. She needs your help to acquire and destroy her life’s work, after which she’ll join your side.
Sherry ought to come in handy – her suit is shock-proof, and she can fire swarms of bees at enemies. It’s like Rapture never collapsed. It’s important to note they’re near-future nano-bees, so you don’t need to worry about the premature deaths of any insects as you cover your enemies in stings.
Watch Dogs: Legion is due for release on October 29 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC – about a year after its original intended date, so expect plenty of polish. The devs say the delay helped the Watch Dogs: Legion team create more believable missions and characters (opens in new tab). Sherry’s ace, but our personal favourite in the video is Orphea Molyneux – a football hooligan who starred in a viral video named ‘Drunkard yeets badger’. Let’s pretend it was a nano-badger.
And remember, there’s a free upgrade to PS5 (opens in new tab) and Xbox Series X (opens in new tab) too.
