The post The Flash footage reveals Michael Keaton’s Batman, Supergirl, and a returning DC villain appeared first on Game News.
]]>While the clip was presented behind closed doors, a handful of scene descriptions have appeared online.
Screen Rant (opens in new tab) has revealed that it begins with Ezra Miller’s Flash running back through time to see his mother, Nora, be killed.
Elsewhere, there’s plenty of Keaton’s comeback as the Caped Crusader. He even echoes his familiar frenzied line from Tim Burton’s 1989 classic, saying, “You want to get nuts? Let’s get nuts?” He’s also seen riding on a Batcycle, while there are multiple alternate Batsuits on display in Wayne Manor.
The CinemaCon presentation also offered a look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl in action, while Michael Shannon’s Zod also makes a return in one scene. The villain, who died in Man of Steel, is seen “flying at very high speeds” and wearing a face shield, as per IGN (opens in new tab).
It’ll still be a while until we see The Flash, Supergirl, Batman (including Ben Affleck’s Batman), and Zod on the big screen. The Flash has been moved back from its initial release date of November 4, 2022 to June 23, 2023.
Other DC movies have also shifted around. Aquaman 2, AKA Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is now releasing on March 17, 2023. Shazam! Fury of the Gods has been moved up six months to December 16, 2022 from its June 2, 2023 release date.

]]>Keaton, unsurprisingly, was reluctant to rubber Bat-stamp his return as the Caped Crusader: “We’re having discussions, as they say. We’re talking about it. We’ll see if it happens.”
Something the actor was keen to share, though, was his opinion on his favourite Batman – especially off the back of him potentially starring alongside another Dark Knight in Ben Affleck in the 2022 DC movie.
So, out of all of the on-screen Bats, from George Clooney, to Christian Bale, who was his favourite? “Me,” Keaton said enthusiastically. He also joked that “all 127” Batmen would show up in The Flash.
Story details on the Scarlet Speeder’s solo movie – helmed by It director Andy Muschietti – are scarce, though it’s believed The Flash will at least partially adapt the Flashpoint comic series. That not only includes the multiverse (something DC is pushing hard these days) but also allows for both Ben Affleck’s Batman and Michael Keaton’s original on-screen hero to co-exist.
There’s even been a glimpse of the latter Batman’s influence on the movie. August’s DC FanDome event revealed that Ezra Miller’s Flash will have a new suit, custom built by Batfleck himself.
He may be vengeance and the night but does Michael Keaton’s Batman crack our list of the top 25 best superhero movies ever made? It’s time to find out…

]]>Plus, Costume Designer, Michael Wilkinson confirmed the inclusion of another superhero when he spoke with Omelette (opens in new tab): “I’m not really at the liberty to talk about The Flash right now, but it’s something that you’ll be seeing in the future in our films. You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in Batman v Superman.
“But I’m really looking forward to taking the amazing, iconic costume for The Flash and interpreting it in a fresh way where Ezra Miller is playing The Flash,” Wilkinson continued. “He’s an extraordinary performer, he has a sort of interesting sense of humor and the youth that will be great for Barry Allen and I think he’s going to make a great Flash.”

If you’re worried The Flash showing up in Batman v Superman is yet another addition to what could already be an overstuffed film, it’s worth highlighting that Wilkinson specifically said we’ll only be getting a “glimpse” of the scarlet speedster. This more than likely means it will only be a cameo to help tide us over until Justice League and his solo movie. Of course, if you really need your Flash fix, there’s the excellent TV show starring Grant Gustin, which airs new episodes each week.
Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25 2016. Check out our analysis of the latest trailer below…

Though he’s mostly stuck to intimate indie films so far, Ezra Miller will soon be breaking into comic-book movies as speedy superhero The Flash, and he spoke to MTV this week about how he landed the role.
Best known for his roles in We Need To Talk About Kevin and Perks Of Being A Wallflower, the 22-year-old actor talked to MTV (opens in new tab) about receiving a phone call from Zack Snyder after landing the role.
“I pick it up and [my agent’s] like, ‘Listen I have Zack Snyder on the phone, I gotta put you through he wants to talk to you about this DC Universe thing,’ and I was like, ‘What?!’” Ezra laughs.
“And then he got on the phone and you know Zack, he’s just gung-ho, he’s in it, he’s completely involved so he just starts talking about how I’m going to play The Flash. And I was just in sort of a state of shock and disbelief.”
Though Miller isn’t expected to appear as The Flash in next year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, he should turn up in the two-part Justice League movie in 2017, plus his own solo outing as The Flash in 2018.
The latter is yet to find a director or writer, though it seems likely that Snyder will oversee the film in some capacity.
The movie version of The Flash isn’t expected to have anything to do with the same-named TV series, which is currently airing on The CW in the US.
