The post New The Walking Dead game will last four months and take place on Facebook appeared first on Game News.
]]>The Walking Dead: Last Mile kicked off on July 11, 2022, and is available to take part in for free. All you need is a Facebook account. The next chapter in The Walking Dead series sees players tune into a daily, choice-based narrative experience which is set to take place over the course of the next four months.
Being developed in collaboration with Genvid Entertainment, Skybound Entertainment, and of course Meta, the idea of the project is that it isn’t quite a game, isn’t quite a TV show, it’s somewhere in between. Players can create avatars to join the universe and make decisions about the adventure unfolding in front of them. The story will also be explored through a series of live streams which are being hosted by actors Yvette Nicole Brown and Felicia Day.
One of the appeals of The Walking Dead: Last Mile (opens in new tab) is that it actually does exist within the wider The Walking Dead universe. So whatever the story’s outcome turns out to be in a few months’ time, it will technically line up with the story from the original The Walking Dead comics. It’s also pretty simple to get involved, all you need is access to either the desktop site or the Facebook app on mobile to join in.
There’s been a tonne of other The Walking Dead games over the years from mobile games, FPS games, choice-based games, and more. Aside from The Walking Dead: Last Mile though, we’ve also got another The Walking Dead game to look forward to as The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners gets a sequel for PSVR 2 later this year.

]]>And, if you’re looking for more help to deal with the Bakers? We also have a complete Resident Evil 7 boss fight guide.
There’s a total of 20 bobbleheads around Resident Evil 7, each one of which has to be destroyed with a knife or bullet. The “Mr Everywhere” figures are distributed accordingly:
Getting all 20 bobbleheads earns you the “Mr Nowhere” achievement, and earn you a couple of special items for following playthroughs: the Walking Shoes and the Essence of Defense.

Mr Everywhere 1/20
Once you’ve spoken to the cop through the window and he hands you the knife, head back to the laundry room and smash the first bobblehead directly under the tape recorder.

Mr Everywhere 2/20
Now loop back around the house corridor to the far end by the ornate door to the Main Hall, where this bobblehead is sat on a table next to a bicycle.

Mr Everywhere 3/20
After obtaining the Ox Statue following the Garage fight and using it to open the door to the Main Hall, turn immediately left to find the next bobblehead on a side table next to a herb.

Mr Everywhere 4/20
To the right of Jack’s Memo and behind a coin is a bobblehead on top of the unit inside a basket.

Mr Everywhere 5/20
Once you’ve solved the wooden statue light puzzle and squeezed through the gap into the next area, look to the right of the Crow Door to find this bobblehead.

Mr Everywhere 6/20
Go to the other side of the mortuary room, through the door and down some stairs – at the end of the corridor by a Snake Door is a bobblehead on the floor between a breeze block and some tubs.

Mr Everywhere 7/20
Now cross the yard to the caravan, where this bobblehead is hiding under the steps leading to the door.

Mr Everywhere 8/20
Now continue ahead through the Gallery to get outside, then turn left to find a save room with a bobblehead on the side to your left as you enter.

Mr Everywhere 9/20
Head to the Living Room and destroy the insect nest in the fireplace (the Burner is good for this, grab the other half from the Water Station to assemble it if you haven’t already) then crawl through to spot a bobblehead on your left before going down the stairs.

Mr Everywhere 10/20
Now head around the corner and down into the crawl space, then look on the shelves to the left above a pet carrier.

Mr Everywhere 11/20
There’s also a bobblehead on the dresser in the middle of this room.

Mr Everywhere 12/20
If you turn around in the attic you’ll spot a bobblehead on a rafter above the ladder opening, and unfortunately it’s too far out of reach for a knife attack. To save ammunition, you can take it out with a single unit of Burner fuel by quickly tapping the trigger.

Mr Everywhere 13/20
Now enter the barn area next door and look up on the top of the fence to your left to spot a bobblehead. You can’t knife it, but again a single unit of Burner fuel should be enough to destroy it.

Mr Everywhere 14/20
Now turn around and look up as you exit the safe room, to locate a bobblehead above the door ready for a quick burst from your Burner.

Mr Everywhere 15/20
Outside, as you make your way to the Boathouse, hang a right into the wooden shack then check the netting on the floor for another bobblehead.

Mr Everywhere 16/20
When you’ve climbed up the lift to 4F and Eveline has called you a liar, loop around to the 4F stairs to find a bobble head by the handrail to the side.

Mr Everywhere 17/20
Return to 2F and head for the room in the top right corner of the map, then climb the ladder inside and turn around to spot a bobblehead on a ledge opposite.

Mr Everywhere 18/20
After exiting the ship and wading through the swamp to climb a ladder into a hut, collect your items from the crate then return to the ladder and pick off the bobblehead sat on the ledge opposite.

Mr Everywhere 19/20
When you reach an area of the salt mine with a bomb at the bottom of some stairs, follow the tracks to the left then look up above a crate to see this bobblehead next to a barrel.

Mr Everywhere 20/20
After defeating the two Fat Men and climbing the ladder out of the mines, pull away the boards ahead and return to the Guest House, then go around the other side of the shelves to find the final bobblehead.
At this point you should unlock the Mr. Nowhere trophy/achievement.

You’ll find your first safe in an upstairs room across the street from the pharmacy in the first downtown area. While the safe is in an upstairs store room you reach via some fire escape stairs, the drugstore owner’s journal next to it will direct you towards an ‘Aqua Cure Queen’ for the combination. Head to the pharmacy itself and look to the back of the store to find a hard to miss poster.

The phone number on the poster is ringed, highlighting the numbers and directions for the Resident Evil 3 Downtown safe combination: 9L 1R 8L. If that doesn’t work try 9L 3R 7L, as it looks like there might be some randomization here.

You’ll find a locker code just as you enter the 2F police station shower room that might seem a little familiar if you played Resident Evil 2. It’s the same locker and code that appeared in the last game which if you want. The code is CAP which can be found on a whiteboard in a 1F room just before the Operators Room.

The West Office safe combination in Resident Evil 3 is the same as it was in Resident Evil 2 – Left 9, Right 15, Left 7. You don’t need to find the combination first but if you want to track it down for the sake of it you’ll find it in a report in the police station safe room on the ground floor by the stairs.

Like the other RCPD codes, the Resident Evil 3 3F Hallway locker code is the same as it was in Resident Evil 2 – DCM. Once again you won’t need to find the combination first but if you want to you’ll find it in a photo that’s pinned to a whiteboard in the 1F Safety Deposit Room.

The Resident Evil 3 Nurses Station safe combination needs to be found while you’re playing as Carlos in the hospital. You can visit the safe later on 2F as Jill but you’ll find it empty whether you opened it or not earlier. The combination is in the Operating Room on 1F, on a clipboard and reads 9 clockwise, 3 counterclockwise. That’s not a typo either, it really is just two numbers.

Go to the Laundry Room across the hallway and collect the Change of Clothes from the bench.

Go upstairs to the Kid’s Room, give the clothes to the girl.

Go downstairs and find Lucas in the Dining Area.

Go back upstairs to the Bathroom and find Marguerite.

Go downstairs to the Garage and get the Rope.

Return to Jack and Marguerite in the Bathroom.

Run to the Recreation Room, then close the door and use the Rope to secure it.

Go into the side room and get the Fork from the small table.

Use the Fork on the two nails holding a board across the window.

Exit through the window and go along the Veranda.

Pull away the board at the end, then go through the door to the Main Hall.

Sneak past Marguerite and unlock the double doors leading back to the Main House hallway.

Once you’ve received the Car Key, run down the hallway and past Jack into the Laundry Room and drop down into the crawl space.

Pop up into the Pantry then sneak through the Kitchen/Dining Area past Jack and downstairs to the Garage.

Interact with the car to get in and start it.

Eveline will appear and you’ll get the ‘bad ending’ in Daughters.

]]>When it comes to a lot of things – hip pouches, medallions, safe and locker codes etc etc – you’ll likely find a few thing here and there, but it’s getting everything that’s the challenge. With surprise attacks, the ever chasing Mr X, and set pieces that can easily make you forget to look for stuff, it’s easy to miss some vital thing you need in the heat of the moment. Which is why each of these Resident Evil 2 guides will carefully take you through everything you need to know and find, so you won’t miss out on anything.

If you’re after some general Resident Evil 2 tips (opens in new tab) then this should sort you out. It covers everything from the best ways to deal with zombies, how save ammo and more – things like vital map info you might have missed and a super useful quick turn move that’s perfect for those moments when Mr X appears in front of you without warning and want to [checks notes] ‘give it to you’.

There are three Resident Evil 2 safes to crack in the game. You’ll want to pop them open as they contain valuable inventory and weapon upgrades that will make life so much easier. Fortunately the codes don’t change during Leon or Claire’s play through so our Resident Evil 2 Safe codes (opens in new tab) will sort you right out.

The lockers in Resident Evil 2 are like the safes in that they require a code to open, although they generally contain ammo and slightly less important things. Although when you’re down to your last bullet it could make the difference between life and whatever kind of death being a zombie is. Use our Resident Evil 2 locker codes (opens in new tab) to help you pop those bad boys open.

If you wander around the police station long enough you’re bound to come across a film roll or two in Resident Evil 2 Remake. If you want to know where they are, how to develop them and what the resulting clues you get are for, then use our Resident Evil 2 Film Roll locations (opens in new tab) to make everything clear.

When it comes to guns in Resident Evil 2 you’ve got plenty of choices. That is assuming you can find both the weapons and the upgrades. Do well and you turn a 9mm peashooter into a semi-auto burst fire machine gun. The best Resident Evil 2 guns (opens in new tab) vary between Leon and Claire’s playthroughs but knowing where to find the best ones and how to max them out is vital to the whole ‘not being dead’ thing.

He’s small, and slightly annoying, but if you can find all the Resident Evil 2 Mr Raccoon locations (opens in new tab) in the game there’s a trophy or achievement for your efforts. Some are well hidden, and some are only found in a particular character’s playthough so use our guide and make sure you don’t miss one.

Zombies aren’t too much of a problem – they’re easy to dodge and generally about as dangerous as old people complaining. Lickers, though, that’s when you’re going to wish you knew how to get the Resident Evil 2 shotgun and grenade launcher (opens in new tab) as soon as possible. They are your go to monster killing tools – powerful enough to make problems go away but not so high level that ammo is hard to find.

Resi loves a good door. And it especially loves a good door with a kinky lock. Red Diamond key, Blue Spade key, Green Club key – why open doors normally when you can make it weird? At least with our Resident Evil 2 key locations (opens in new tab) you can find them all in no time and get out of the police station sooner rather than later.

If you want to get out of the police station in Resident Evil 2 then you’ll have to find three medallions to open a secret passage (again with the weird locks). It’s pretty much the first thing objective you’re given in the game so our guide to all the Resident Evil 2 medallion locations (opens in new tab) will likely come in handy and save you running down too many dead ends.

How much stuff you can carry in Resident Evil 2 Remake is always a big deal. Especially as this is the game that pretty much invented inventory management. For that reason knowing where to find the Resident Evil 2 hip pouch locations (opens in new tab) should always be a priority. Each one adds two spaces to your carrying capacity and makes the world a better place in general. Pockets!

Most of Resident Evil 2’s puzzles involve combinations and inappropriately ornate ornaments. However, about two thirds of the way into the game you’ll find a puzzle involving chess pieces and a riddle. That’s when you’ll really want to know how to solve the Resident Evil 2 chess plug puzzle (opens in new tab). Follow our guide and you’ll know how to solve one of the trickiest tests in the game.

]]>While the Winters’ Expansion unlocks ‘Third-Person Mode’ as an option for the core campaign, the Shadows of Rose story DLC takes place entirely in third person – it’s quite the change. Call me a cynic, but I reckon this is a deliberate and admittedly shrewd move from Capcom with an eye on its much-anticipated and recently confirmed Resident Evil 4 Remake. And call me a sell-out, but I’m totally here for it.

I didn’t think we needed a The Last of Us remake until I saw it in motion
Given the acclaim the Resident Evil series has received since pivoting to a first-person perspective in 2017’s Resident Evil 7, the decision to revert to an over-the-shoulder POV here feels like an odd but assured move. Resident Evil Village is a continuation of Ethan Winters’ story from RE7, and likewise carried the first-person torch forward from the Baker estate to the next game’s titular European hamlet setting when it arrived last year. While mostly linear in makeup – in the same vein as its predecessors – Resident Evil Village offers players more in the way of exploration, with more optional areas and secret-laden hidden locations than anything that’s come before. Being shown all of this through the eyes of the protagonist at ground level makes a modestly-sized map feel so much bigger, a feature galvanised by the game world’s astute level design and back-and-forth objective structure.
Moreover, scrambling monsters and half-robot zombies are generally more terrifying when forcing themselves into your personal space – a sense of frantic claustrophobia that goes hand-in-hand with a first-person point of view – and the towering Lady Dimitrescu is doubly scary when viewed from Ethan Winters’ perspective firsthand, the hero often forced to tilt his head back just to take in all nine feet and six inches of the castle countess. In the case of Resident Evil Village’s new Third Person Mode, then, I can’t see how switching camera views can improve any of the original blueprint. We won’t know until we get hands-on with it, but I suspect the map will feel smaller, the enemies less scary, and, heaven forbid, Lady Dimitrescu less imposing.

“Through all of this, a short-term pivot to third-person suddenly makes perfect sense.”
So why do it? The Rose Winters-starring Shadows of Rose expansion looks great, and, following the conclusion of the base game, is likely to be the final twist in frontman Ethan’s tale – one that I can’t wait to discover myself. I already have so many questions, not least: who is that doppelganger, and why has the otherwise helpful shopkeeper, The Duke, seemingly turned hostile? Still, given the Resident Evil Village base game incorporates a first-person perspective as standard, there was really no need to make RE8’s first slice of DLC anything different.
As also revealed during Capcom’s E3 2022 showcase, though, the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake are both getting current-gen hardware upgrades, with 4K resolution, ray tracing, higher frame rates, and 3D audio all en route to the games first launched in 2019 and 2020 respectively. For PS5 players, the upgrade – free for existing owners of the originals – also adds haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support via the console’s DualSense controller. The RE2 and RE3 remakes are, of course, third-person horror games now on the cusp of being brought in-line with modern standards – in many ways similar to Sony and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us: Part 1.
Shortly after announcing Resident Evil Village’s Third Person Mode and its incoming Shadows of Rose DLC, the Resident Evil 4 remake’s director Yasuhiro Anpo and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi spent five minutes outlining what we can expect from the reimagining when it lands on March 24 next year. Hirabayashi introduced new gameplay footage with the line: “The over-the-shoulder camera returns, of course!”, while Anpo later affirmed: “We want long-time fans and people who are new to Resident Evil to enjoy this storied franchise”.

“If I’m given small insight into how a modern day Resident Evil 4 might look and feel… then Capcom’s gamble has paid off.”
Through all of this, a short-term pivot to third-person suddenly makes perfect sense. As of last month, Resident Evil Village has sold over six million copies. That audience is locked in, and, I can only assume, raring to go for more story content, no matter how it’s framed and served. Despite being unsure of the value in a Third Person Mode myself, I’ll definitely give it a spin – if for nothing else but to see how Lady Dimitrescu stands up, and to experience Heisenberg’s industrial maze from a different point of view. If, in that process, I’m given small insight into how a modern day Resident Evil 4 might look and feel – it, of course, also set in a nameless, monster-ridden Eastern European village – then Capcom’s gamble has paid off. And whether you’re a longstanding fan or a newcomer, being able to blaze through Resident 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Village and its coinciding DLC all in third-person view on modern hardware bodes well for Capcom’s next big push towards its Resident Evil 4 remake.
At this point, I would still expect the ninth main series Resident Evil – whatever it’s called and whenever it may arrive – to adopt a first-person camera view, as per numbers eight and nine, and there’s every chance that Capcom will eventually rework Village’s Shadows of Rose DLC through the eyes of its protagonist. When I first learned the expansion was “completely third-person”, I thought it had no business being so – but that, for me, in fact, is exactly what is driving the decision. And, while I find it an odd move, if it acts as a primer for next year’s Resident Evil 4, I am one hundred per cent on board.
Resident Evil Village is among the best horror games out there – how many of the rest have you played?

]]>To make things more complicated, some only appear in Leon’s campaign and some only appear in Claire’s part of the story, and in different places depending on the character looking. So to help you make sure you can catch all 15 Resident Evil 2 Mr Raccoon locations in one go we have them all listed here. It’s actually easy to find them all if you know where to look as none of them are really out of the way. There’s just a few that are well hidden and it only takes a moment to not think to look to walk right past. So coming up we’ll show you where to find every Mr Raccoon so you can get them all as you play through.

You’ll find the first Mr Raccoon in the basement of the police station. Head into the firing range and you’ll find him at the back next to a target on the floor.

On the east side of the police station is an easy to miss Mr Raccoon. He’s in the 3F break room tucked between the end of a bed and a bag, buy the sink, in the back room.

The Mr Raccoon outside the chief’s office is basically a freebie as it’s impossible to miss – it’s sat on a table right in front of the door just by the stairs.

There’s Mr Raccoon in the West Office of the Police Station where you find the ‘Welcome Leon’ sign. It’s nestled quite high up though, on the top of some shelves, so it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking up all the time.

When you get to the Clock Tower on the third floor of the Police Station make sure you go through the door at the back. The corridor it leads to looks like a dead end but there’s a Mr Raccoon tucked away on the windowsill at the far end.

In the STARs office you’ll find a Mr Raccoon tucked away on the opposite side of the room to the Armory. Just look between a cardboard box and a computer monitor to find it.

When you finally kill the giant alligator in the sewer your natural instinct might be to get as far as way as possible. But before you climb up the ladder check to your left for a Mr Raccoon.

While playing as Ada you’ll find a Mr Raccoon in the incinerator room to the right of the large door. It’s on the floor between a pillar and a large white bag.

At the top of the stairs between the Bottom Water Way and the Supplies Storage Room in the Sewers you’ll find a Mr Raccoon in the corner. It’s to the right of the blue wheelbarrow, hidden by the workbench.

The cafeteria in the Laboratory is hiding a Mr Raccoon around to the back, right of a blood splattered TV. head around to the right back towards the corridor you passed to get there, to reach it.

There’s a quite well hidden Mr Raccoon in the Laboratory’s Nap room. You’ll need the signal modulator to bring the power back online and open up the sleeping pods. When you do you’ll find a weapon upgrade, a zombie and a Mr Raccoon in the pod furthest from the door.

Almost as soon as you start Claire’s campaign as a second play through you’ll find a Mr Raccoon. He’s in the bushes by the wall just before the left you take to meet Leon.

In the East Storage Area there’s a smaller room you can get into and in there you’ll find a Mr Raccoon. He’s hidden away on top of some boxes on the shelves.

When you play as Claire you visit a few different areas, like a lager city area behind the Raccoon Police Department. As you explore you’ll have to go through a bus and there you’ll find a Mr Raccoon on the dashboard as you do.

You’ll actually see this Mr Raccoon when you play as Sherry Birkin but you won’t be able to do anything about it then. Instead, when you finally reach the orphanage as Claire head up stairs and you can take it out then.

]]>Speaking to VGC (opens in new tab) in a new interview, Dying Light 2 lead designer Tymon Smektała spoke about what he’d do in a theoretical sequel to the zombie horror game. “One thing is that if we’re making Dying Light 3, then I would like the main character to start with bigger and better starting abilities and skills,” Smektała told the outlet.
Smektała went on to add that Dying Light 2 basically replicated the beginning of the very first game in the series, where the player character starts out as deliberately weak, and builds from there. The lead designer notes that this is something he would “like to have corrected” if he got the chance to do it all over again.
“So I think in the third game, if it happens, that the character will start with more powers, more skills, more abilities as his basic skill set,” Smektała concluded. It’s a frank and honest assessment from the lead designer, and merely three months after Dying Light 2 originally launched in February.
Still, there’s plenty of opportunities for developers like Smektała to build on Dying Light 2. Developer Techland previously pledged to support the sequel with new content for years to come, and we’ve already seen a number of add-on launches for Dying Light 2 over the last few months. The game’s first post-launch story DLC, however, just recently got pushed back to a September release.

]]>In an interview with IGN (opens in new tab), director Hasan Kahraman echoed previous statements from developer Blue Box Game Studios that the cinematic survival horror title has not been cancelled. This follows Blue Box deleting a series of tweets that mentioned the studio’s future plans for Abandoned, leading to speculation that, true to its name, the game had actually been abandoned.
Kahraman says that the team deleted these tweets in an effort to erase outdated information about the game. He also expressed his surprise that the studio’s actions led to uncertainty over Abandon’s future.
“I did not see that coming,” he said. “I didn’t think that the community would respond that way. Basically, the tweets were deleted because some of the concept has changed, and I figured maybe just deleting the tweet and then tweeting more relevant information would be a better idea – which was actually not a good idea.”
Kahraman also shed more light on the upcoming Abandoned prologue, which has been delayed indefinitely, confirming that it will be a standalone game. “The Prologue is not a demo,” he explained. “People keep saying it’s a demo. It’s not a demo. It’s actually a standalone game, right? It has a price tag. It’s low because it’s probably about an hour, two hours of gameplay.”
He also offered more details on what exactly fans should expect from the prologue. “It’s actually more like an opportunity for gamers to get introduced to the story of the game, to the gameplay, because it’s different,” said Kahraman. “It’s our version of saying, ‘This is what we believe how a realistic survival shooter should be like.'”
The lack of information about Abandoned since its unveiling has led to much speculation on how the development of the game is going. Kahraman offered an explanation as to why details on the PS5 exclusive have been thin on the ground so far.
“The reason why people haven’t seen anything of the game yet, any development of the game yet, is because simply, and to describe it in one word, is that I’m scared,” he told IGN. “I’m not going to lie. The reason why I’m scared is because it’s a personal work. It’s something personal.”
Abandoned might not be getting a release date anytime soon, but in the meantime, why not check out our pick of the best horror games to play right now.

Some of the other interesting things found include the fact one of the car’s speedometers actually works, and that if you blow up the arcade machines you can expose its components.
It’s amazing how even after almost two years since The Last of Us 2 was released, fans are still finding the tiniest of details within the game. Speclizer also recently shared a fellow The Last of Us 2 fan’s discovery of potential multiplayer armor for Ellie buried deep in the game’s code.
We haven’t heard much in terms of new The Last of Us 2 content from director Neil Druckmann or anyone else at Naughty Dog in a while, but what we do know is that the team is currently working on three mystery projects.
