The creative director of Apex Legends developer Respawn’s unannounced single player game has departed the studio.

VGC noted that Mohammad Alavi had updated his LinkedIn (opens in new tab) profile to read “after 10 years at Respawn and getting to ship the most amazing games of my career it was time to call it quits. A whole range of emotions washed over me after saying goodbyes to the people that had a huge impact on my career.”

Heading over to the career section of Alavi’s profile, he was listed as the “Creative Director on a brand new singleplayer adventure from Respawn Entertainment,” and had held the role since March 2021. Prior to that, Alavi worked as a Narrative Design Director on Apex Legends since November 2020, and even notes that he trained up leads to replace him upon exiting the game.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard mention of an unannounced single player game in development at Respawn. Last year in July 2021, Alavi himself took to Twitter to reveal that the L.A.-based studio was working on a “brand new single player adventure,” with himself as the creative director of said project.

Elsewhere however, Respawn revealed it was developing a “brand new IP” earlier in the year in April 2021. Job listings at the studio hinted further at the new IP, which will exist outside of the established worlds of Titanfall, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but we don’t know if this new IP is the same single player project that Alavi was heading up.

Check out our new games 2022 guide for a complete look at everything on the immediate horizon.

The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order PS5 and Xbox Series X update release date may have leaked for this summer, with two separate retailers pointing to the same day for its arrival.

Lucasfilm Games confirmed in April that it had extensive new-gen updates planned for Fallen Order, promising “a number of technical improvements” coming through a next-gen release and a free update for current-gen owners set for sometime this summer. As spotted by Game Infinitus (opens in new tab), Brazilian retailers Submarino (opens in new tab) and Americans (opens in new tab) both currently list a release date of June 26 for a PS5 version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Both stores are part of the same parent company, so it is possible that they’re just using the same placeholder date on their back end and this information hasn’t come from anywhere with inside knowledge about Fallen Order. Still, it’s the best lead we have about when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could get its full new-gen release, so it’s worth keeping in mind with a grain of salt until we get an official announcement.

We know that EA is planning its own big EA Play Live event for July 22nd, and before that it will have some manner of grand reveal for Battlefield 6 in June. If the release date on those stores is accurate, that would put it right in the middle of what’s shaping up to be a very big summer for EA.

See what else we’re looking forward to this year and beyond with our guide to new games 2021.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’d look like to control The Mandalorian in a third-person action game, wonder no more.

Just below, you can see gameplay from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which launched last year. There’s one pretty major difference though: protagonist Cal Ketsis has been swapped out for none other than Din Djarin himself, as he goes toe-to-toe with the Ninth Sister, one of the many boss battles featured in Respawn’s game.

It’s a really impressive mod, containing some equally impressive gameplay from YouTuber Jordy Castelli on the game’s highest difficulty setting. For the purposes of battling against the Ninth Sister, Djarin wields a Darksaber, which firstly appeared in The Mandalorian near the end of the debut season, in the hands of Giancarlo Esposito’s powerful Moff Gideon (if you’re unfamiliar with the elite weapon, check out our Mandalorian Darksaber explained guide).

We’re now past the halfway point in The Mandalorian Season 2, with episodes rolling out weekly on Disney Plus. Speaking of actor Giancarlo Esposito, he’s been teasing a fair bit about the upcoming instalments of the series, hinting that the Dark Troopers will make a triumphant return alongside Moff Gideon’s ultimate plans. If you’re slightly puzzled about how the Dark Troopers could affect the show at large in the latter half of the second season, you’ll want to read our Mandalorian Dark Troopers explained guide for more.

For a full schedule of the remaining episodes set to release as part of season two of the Star Wars show on Disney Plus, head over to our Mandalorian Season 2 release schedule guide for more.

So you’re decided on the dark side by looking for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order cheats. We get it: it’s a big game, you’re evil, and you want to use a trainer, some console commands or a cheat engine to do it the easy way. Well, the dark side is on on… your sides as there are some options if you want to cheat or change the game in some way.

Unfortunately, those options are only possible on PC as there’s no way to get under the hood and tinker with the game on PS4 and XBox. However, if you’re playing using a desktop or laptop then there are ways to give yourself access to options such as unlimited health or full skill points. If that sounds like something you want to do then read on and we’ll show you what options are available to give yourself a, let’s face it, illicit boost.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order console commands

Sadly, there aren’t any official Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order cheats available via PC console commands, so you can’t just bring up that little text box and start tweaking variables within the game. There is an unofficial method to add some of this functionality, but before you try this or any other methods listed in the guide we must stress that downloading and running any third-party software is completely at your own risk, so make sure you apply due diligence and confirm your PC has adequate protection before going ahead with installing any cheat programs. You should also create a back up of all your important game saves before you proceed, so you’re covered if you need to restore them later.

To add console commands to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you need to install the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Console Unlocker and follow the instructions listed over at Nexus Mods (opens in new tab). It should be noted that as these are Unreal Engine 4 console commands, you’ll only be able to affect visual settings such as FOV, FPS limit, motion blur etc.

Another method available is Cheat Engine (opens in new tab), which is an open source program that can be used to modify single player games by using an extensive set of tools. After you’ve installed and got it up and running, you can then import Cheat Engine Tables into it – these are user-created and built to deliver a selection of cheats directly into your chosen game. The Cheat Engine Table (opens in new tab) listed on this forum unlocks a number of options including increasing your health, stamina, Force, and stims.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order WeMod Trainer

The last option for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order cheats we’ll look at here is downloading and installing the WeMod Trainer (opens in new tab) – there are different download options available for the Steam and Origin versions of the game so make sure you pick the right one. WeMod presents a tidier interface than Cheat Engine which may you may find easier to use, and it offers unlimited health, shield, and Force, as well as letting you set the level of your skill points and Exp.

The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launch trailer is here, and it has a little bit of everything: exploration, exposition, and lightsaber duels with hulking Imperial Inquisitors. Developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts confirmed earlier this month that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (opens in new tab) had gone gold (opens in new tab) ahead of its November 15 release date, and it looks like everything is finally on track for the new narrative-focused, action-packed Star Wars game that fans have been waiting on for roughly a decade.

The launch trailer begins and ends with Cal clashing with the Ninth Sister, an Inquisitor whose emperor-given mission is to hunt down and kill any Jedi that remain after the purge seen in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Though the purge looked pretty thorough in the movie, it wasn’t quite as effective as the new Empire would have hoped: our hero, Cal Kestis, is a surviving Padawan of the Jedi Order, and his new mentor Cere Junda (who says the “We’ve lost” line) is a surviving Knight herself.

It looks like Cal Kestis is approaching the ancient Jedi temple we got to see in our hands-on preview (opens in new tab), meeting one of its mysterious guardians. We had to do a lot more platforming and puzzle solving to get there when we were actually playing the game, but that probably wouldn’t seem as cool in a minute-long trailer.

On top of giving us a new look at the game, EA confirmed today that it will release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Steam, as part of a new partnership with Valve. This comes after years of keeping EA games on their own separate Origin PC launcher, and it’s only the start of a larger collaboration between the two companies.

Prepare to embark on your next journey in a galaxy far, far away with our guide to Star Wars viewing order (opens in new tab).

The latest Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (opens in new tab) trailer has everything a Star Wars fan could want: lightsaber battles, an offscreen cameo from Darth Vader, wisecracking aliens, and more. The video’s debut was one of the headline acts at the Force Friday preview event, the semi-annual reveal of all things Star Wars collectible Star Wars for the year ahead. Unlike the combat-heavy gameplay demo we first saw at E3 2019 (opens in new tab), this trailer focuses on the people Cal will meet (and clash with) on his journey.

That said, if you want firm answers about how Cal survived the Jedi purge and what he’s looking for as he flies from planet to planet, this is not the trailer you’re looking for. “He’s searching for something,” says the Second Sister, an Inquisitor dedicated to hunting down remaining Jedi. “Something very precious to the Empire.” The sound of Darth Vader’s mechanical breathing apparatus can be briefly heard just before she speaks.

We see Cal wandering through ancient ruins, eventually finding a relic with the icon of the Jedi Order emblazoned upon it. “We’re done hiding, Cal,” says the voice of his new mentor Cere Junda (the one who rescues him at the start of the trailer, herself a former Jedi Knight). It sounds like whatever Cal is searching for could help bring back the Jedi, or do something far worse if it ends up in the hands of the Empire. After that, Cal fights a whole bunch of stuff: a giant shrieking bat thing, scout troopers, and the Second Sister again, though it looks like that scene loops back around to the start of the trailer.

We’ll soon see if Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the new narrative-driven, single-player Star Wars game we’ve waited nearly a decade for- it’s set to arrive on November 15, 2019.

See what else is on the horizon with our guide to the upcoming games (opens in new tab) of 2019.

Feast your eyes on the first Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (opens in new tab) gameplay, all 3.5 seconds of it. EA and Respawn Entertainment have shown us the teensiest of teases of the single-player Star Wars game in action via a Twitter video that’s so short it could probably fit under the old 140 character limit. Still, as one of the most-anticipated E3 2019 games (opens in new tab), we’ll take whatever Fallen Order morsels we can get.

One day until the gameplay reveal for #StarWarsJediFallenOrder.https://t.co/9vxefcd3Su pic.twitter.com/QjkgNQ1ExWJune 7, 2019

The gameplay comes in two snippets: the first shows main character Cal Kestis leaning down to let his droid friend BD-1 climb onto his back, probably because BD-1’s adorable chicken-bot limbs can’t carry him quite as fast as Kestis’ great striding man-stalks. “Come on, buddy,” Kestis says, and BD-1 responds with a few whistled chirps. The whistles sound less synthesized than what I’m used to hearing from droids like R2-D2 and BB-8; at first, I thought Cal was whistling to the droid like he was calling for a dog.

The second snippet shows Kal climbing up some grating (thank goodness the Empire’s taste in architecture is so scaleable) as a pair of TIE fighters roar overhead. It looks like somebody’s keeping watch out over the area Cal just came from. If I know my third-person action adventure games, Cal’s about to pop up and throw that poor jerk over the edge without a second thought.

This tease arrived a few hours after Game Informer (opens in new tab) previewed its own look at the game in its next issue, including this lovely cover art that confirms the game will have a damn Sarlacc Pit – like the one Boba Fett fell into in Return of the Jedi. What more could you want?

Make sure you check out our EA E3 2019 (opens in new tab) predictions for more on what we could see of Fallen Order and beyond. Then watch our latest Release Radar for a preview of everything big in games and entertainment next week.

For Star Wars Day everyone was waiting for some news about Respawn’s highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (opens in new tab), and thankfully the studio gave a little tasty morsel of news for us salivate over until June. Respawn has confirmed we’ll finally be getting a glimpse of the gameplay for the long awaited Stars Wars action adventure at EA Play and E3 next month. The studio took to Twitter yesterday to confirm the news with a promise of more details to come soon.

After the news that the Fallen Order will be releasing November 15, 2019, we were already anticipating the possibility of seeing some gameplay at EA’s event, but it’s great to get some confirmation. So far all we’ve seen of the Fallen Order is a cinematic trailer which introduced us to the new protagonist and gave us a little teaser of the storyline.

The trailer debuted at the Star Wars Celebration 2019 event back in April, where head of Respawn Vince Zampella also confirmed the Fallen Order will have no microtransactions or multiplayer. Since then we’ve learned a lot about the story-driven adventure in a galaxy far, far away. We know it will be set during the dark times and follows the journey of Cal Kestis, a young padawan trying to survive in the aftermath of Order 66 – the order Emperor Palpatine executed in an effort to purge the galaxy of all Jedi.

So far Respawn’s foray into the Star Wars galaxy has been confirmed for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 and will feature plenty of lightsaber swinging action. The EA Play event is set to kick off on June 7, 2019, but so far no further details about the times of specific game showcases have been released.
