The first AEW teaser trailer dropped in November 2020, and features Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho smacking one another in the face – before a surprise interruption. You can see it right now on Youtube (opens in new tab).
Yes! In addition to the first trailer, a sneak peek of in-match gameplay landed in June 2021. It showcases the character model for Darby Allin, and demonstrates him performing a punch, a springboard back elbow, and an Irish whip outside the ring into the apron. You can see it at the 8:10 mark of the above video.
AEW Fight Forever is actually the third and final entry in a collection of All-Elite Wrestling games which were announced at the same time.
The first AEW video game release date for your diary is therefore ‘out now’. It applies to AEW Casino: Double Or Nothing, which launched on February 26, 2021 for Android and iOS devices. It does what it says on the tin, offering “AEW-branded versions of slots, blackjack, poker and roulette, along with AEW music, sounds, videos, wrestler virtual avatars, gift packs and more”. In an intriguing twist, players can score real AEW merch and prizes via live tournaments and sweepstakes. Cool.
Next up was AEW Elite GM, a mobile offering available on both Android and iOS devices. The company describes it as “the evolution of the GM simulator genre, taking the strategic elements of simulation and fantasy games to create a competitive and engaging space for the wrestling community to take part in”. It has a 3.8 rating on the Apple’s App Store.
The rest of this guide is focused on the upcoming AEW sim wrestling game, which is bound for PS5 and Xbox Series X on a release date TBC – likely later in 2022. With a very famous name at its helm…

2000 N64 release WWE No Mercy is considered legendary in virtual wrestling circles, and when news of an AEW game broke in 2018, Japanese developer Syn Sophia was strongly linked to the project. Fans responded with unrestrained glee: Syn Sophia is the current name of famed No Mercy developer AKI Corporation.
However, those rumours proved false. It’s another Japanese studio renowned for its wrestling prowess which is overseeing AEW’s console debut. Yuke’s has been synonymous with digitised powerbombs and spinebusters since the release of PS1 classic WWF Smackdown, again in 2000, and 2K’s decision to cut ties with the developer midway through the creation of WWE 2K20 is seen as the main reason for its downfall. (Which infamously led to WWE 2K21 being cancelled.)
Yuke’s reputation slipped a little after control of the former Smackdown series passed from THQ to 2K. Yet that’s precisely why the switch to making AEW games should trigger excitement: it’s a fresh start for a revered developer with a point to prove. And there is one AKI Corporation connection, too. No Mercy creator Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita is attached to the project in an advisory role.
So far, 13 names have been confirmed for the AEW Fight Forever roster. Former WWE favourites Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), Chris Jericho and CM Punk are among them, but so too are AEW originals such as Darby Allin and Jungle Boy.
Jericho was one of the first three wrestlers announced, alongside fellow main eventer Kenny Omega and long-time women’s champ Hikaru Shida.
Recent confirmations include Nyla Rose and Kris Statlander, whose Youtube unveiling you can see at the link above.
However, it’s strongly rumoured that the AEW Fight Forever roster won’t make any attempt to compete with WWE 2K22. While that game features more than 200 grapplers to step into the ring with, AEW apparently is keeping its line-up down to 50.
Still, that half-century of muscle should pack in some serious talent. Former Shield member Dean Ambrose is a lock to appear under his AEW name of Jon Moxley: ditto Miro (known in WWE as Rusev), Jake Hager (Jack Swagger), Pac (Neville), Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy.
Expect Brodie Lee (Luke Harper) to appear too. Real name Jon Huber, the big man passed away in December 2020 at the age of just 41. AEW has kept his legacy alive with moves such as awarding his son Brodie Jr the red TNT Championship belt, and you suspect a role in the video game will be another small sign of tribute to a man beloved by his contemporaries.
For a more detailed look at those we expect to make the cut, check out GR’s AEW roster guide. Wanna know who’s in its main rival? Then you need the WWE 2K22 roster instead.
Below are all the names confirmed for the AEW Fight Forever roster so far.

Appealing to old-school fans is critical when it comes to sales of wrestling games, which is why WWE repeatedly crams its sim offerings, and more offbeat efforts such as WWE 2K Battlegrounds, full of famous names from yesteryear. Yet while both FIFA 21 and PES 2021 offered the opportunity to play as Diego Maradona, Frank Rijkaard and Fernando Torres, there’s less-than-zero chance of The Rock or Steve Austin appearing in a TNA game.
However, the hot newcomer can call upon some familiar veteran names, in addition to Jericho and the Hardyz. Former WCW world champion Sting – himself a major attraction of WWE 2K in recent times – debuted in 2020 and is already confirmed for the video game. Arn Anderson, Billy Gunn, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and Taz all have on-air roles and could receive makeovers to represent their prime years, and Bret Hart can also be considered an outside bet. The ‘Hitman’ has never been shy of criticising WWE and made a surprise one-off appearance for AEW at Double Or Nothing in May 2019.
“I do have a lot of fondness for what they’re trying to do, and I support them,” he said at the time. “I hope they become a real big wrestling company in the next year.” Well, that last part came true…

According to Omega, a massive gaming fan as well as a main eventer, this won’t be like Yuke’s wrestling sims of yesteryear. “The biggest challenge we have right now is kind of representing the current wrestling style in a way that still makes it feel like the games of old,” he tells Talksport (opens in new tab). “Because things have changed, it’s not the same wrestling climate as it was in 2000.”
That first footage suggests that this will be a Smackdown-No Mercy hybrid, offering a degree of realism but equally focussed on weighty fisticuffs and blockbuster moves. In case you didn’t watch it, its big surprise is female grappler Hikaru Shida pummelling Omega at its climax, suggesting male vs female matches – a colossal no-no in recent WWE games – are in. Create-a-wrestler and online modes are also confirmed.

While gameplay details remain scarce, AEW has been less secretive about audio for the upcoming game. Indeed, at an April 2022 show in Pittsburgh it recorded crowd noise which will be used in Fight Forever.
AEW owner Tony Kahn kicked off the show with a quick speech about the videogame, asking the crowd if they wanted to participate in an impromptu recording session. Naturally, the watching masses proclaimed ‘yes’ in unison. Ring announcer Justin Roberts then led the audience in chants for Adam Cole, Sting, Jeff Hardy, referee Aubrey Edwards, Adam Page and FTR, follow by individual chants for FTR members Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood.
Expect to hear those exact chants in-game, and consider Wheeler and Harwood (known in their WWE days as The Revival) to be locks for the roster as result.
Yes, according to Omega in his Talksport interview. A major drawback of recent WWE games was the series’ inability to keep up with new signings, surprise departures or other roster changes in a similar vein to FIFA, Madden, NBA 2K or MLB The Show. Omega says changing the perception of wrestling games staying locked for an entire calendar year is a priority for both AEW and Yuke’s.
“As great as it is on launch, as our roster grows – let’s say we add a pay-per-view name, add a new arena, let’s say we sign whoever, anybody! – we want to be able to support those new additions as well… Hopefully the new additions/updates will be really prompt. That’s the plan anyway! So everyone can feel up to date with our roster, and how AEW grows.”
Interesting question. Supposedly working with Yuke’s may be a one-off deal from AEW’s perspective. Sports Gamers Online report that the Fight Forever project is over budget, which is said to be one of the reasons for the modest roster and lack of updates over the last 18 months. That said, if the game emerges and is considered a success then you’d figure AEW may wish to continue to the arrangement – potentially for future DLC updates, or even Fight Forever 2.

]]>Those occasional ‘wow’ occurrences aside, there’s not much truly new in The Show 22. Because where do you go when, in gameplay terms, you’ve been on elite form for two decades? ‘Cosmetic’ is a straightforward yet strong answer, and richer facial animation really stands out. Batters take a deep breath, cheeks expanding, before entering the box. Complaints over strike calls look familiar to Show veterans in their body movements, but now the batter’s brow furrows, and it’s almost possible to read lips. In sports, this matters, even if it’s ultimately canned and superficial with no actual game impact.
Fast facts: MLB The Show 22

Platform(s): PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC
Release date: April 5, 2022
Developer: Sony San Diego
Publisher: Sony
Credit is deserved for bringing facial definition into MLB The Show 22, yet the visual package wanes in other areas. Glorious as stadiums appear from the batter’s box, when a ball exits the park, the Snack Attack concession stand remains, unchanged since the PlayStation 3, smeared textures and all. Angular, awkward fans defeat the realism during mid-inning cutaways. Grass poking through painted logos looks less like turf than a close-up of someone desperately in need of a shave. The jump to PS5 hasn’t done much for the graphical presentation – yet.
If there’s a singular presentation tweak worthy of discussion, it’s Matt Vasgersian’s retirement from the virtual commentary booth. He’s called The Show since 2006, and while undeniably routine and stale in recent years, Vasgersian became the series’ voice. Replacing him is Cubs/ESPN regular John Sciambi. Despite the repetition (Sciambi doesn’t have 15+ years of calls recorded) and occasional inaccuracy, he handles the material convincingly. It’s a worthy performance alongside color man Chris Singleton, and together, there’s a baseline to build on.

The pair commentates a slightly tweaked on-field MLB The Show 22, notably with regards to fielding. Errors occur with greater frequency when controlling lower-rated players, with arm strength and accuracy now critical to consider. In playing through the mostly untouched solo career Road to the Show, some games prove painful; trying to get a jump on tight shots into the outfield or snagging a ball driven into the gap become impossible without greater reaction numbers. The plus, then, is AA and AAA ball feel like minor leagues, creating a satisfying skill gap when (eventually) called up to the MLB.
Ahead of release the dev team has been keen to trumpet improved ball physics. The year-to-year change in this department is subtle to the point of being barely noticeable, but behavior off the bat has undoubtedly changed if you make a broader comparison to, say, five years ago. Combined with the sound, nailing a perfect swing feels stellar, the authenticity marvelous. Add in varying degrees of rumble in the controller (a hard hit tingling like a real bat, albeit with no pain), and there’s no better effect in this genre.
Gaining momentum, the smartly conceived March to October mode earns depth this year, including multiple seasons, and that includes the off-season, making this a speedier way through a franchise (while franchise mode, of course, exists on its own too). Given the MLB’s season length, March to October simplifies things, playing only key moments for a chosen team, plus their minor leaguers that can lead to surprise call-ups (and send downs). Yet, both these modes lack requested GM features, weakening their depth when compared to other sports franchises.
However, The Show 22 does boast cross-console play, meaning franchise save files can be shared between PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch editions. This hasn’t been missed since Sony chose to nuke the PlayStation Vita, but now with a Nintendo Switch version, portability again matters.

Although played largely pre-release, it’s worth mentioning online struggles (also with cross-platform play). Stability wavered wildly during sessions, even with perfect connections according to the on-screen readouts. It’s not a great start to a new two-on-two or three-on-three co-op mode. There’s no genuine depth to speak of (it’s only one-off exhibitions) and baseball isn’t that conducive to video game team play, but it’s a pleasing addition with room to grow. Players take turns between batting and running, with pitching and fielding duties split between innings. But again, missing that pitch meter timing due to a lag skip and giving a teammate fits isn’t fun for anyone.
Elsewhere, there’s the Diamond Dynasty money sink, same as it ever was, adding veteran Hall of Fame players into the mix. As a Mariners fan, it’s great seeing Randy Johnson represented, although the idea of needing to open digital packs to acquire him isn’t ideal. Consider the push to pay real money to access more packs, and it’s less ideal still. Besides, given The Show 22 recycles the enjoyable retro mode (complete with music mimicking the Super Nintendo great Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball), a better choice might be to include full throwback teams rather than one-off superstars, similar to what NBA 2K did when Michael Jordan became the cover athlete. There, full ‘90s era rosters were recreated for a true nostalgia jolt. However, keeping them pinned behind a paywall isn’t the answer.

Gripes aside, MLB The Show 22 remains a fun, authentic and comprehensive simulation, among the industry’s best. Ignoring the surrounding marketplace pressure to reiterate and innovate, Sony’s series sits alongside NBA 2K as the premier pro sports offering. It’s a consistent tie, both visually and where features are concerned – and we’re still only two games into the new generation. Meaning next year’s baseball vs basketball face-off should be a true humdinger.

MLB The Show 22
Still surprisingly swing-and-miss online, but for long-lasting and moreish solo play, NBA 2K22 is its only competitor in a two-horse championship duel.

]]>The Wii Sports follow-up will have a number of sports for players to get involved in including volleyball, badminton, bowling, soccer, chambara, and tennis. In the new trailer, we got to see these sports in action as well as how the Nintendo Switch’s motion controls will come into play in the game.
For the likes of badminton and tennis, just like back in the Nintendo Wii days, players will be able to swing their Joy-con to launch the ball or shuttlecock across the court. According to the trailer, players will also be able to pull off more technical moves like drop shots and topspins with a combination of various swings and buttons.
For volleyball, chambara, and bowling, things are pretty much the same except the direction in which you swing your Joy Con controller can make all the difference. Things get a little more complicated with soccer though as players are encouraged to use both Joy Cons. There’s also the option to equip the Joy Con leg strap accessory for this sport to pull off intuitive kicking motions.
The final thing revealed in the Nintendo Switch Sports overview trailer is a brief look at how online connectivity functions in the game. According to the trailer, players can compete against up to three of their friends via online co-op. If you’d rather take things to the next level though, there is also the option to compete in the Pro League via random matchmaking.
Better start warming up now as Nintendo Switch Sports is set to release on April 29, 2022.
Wondering about the future of the series? Well, according to a recent datamine, more mini-games could be on the way.

]]>The post New PGA Tour game delayed to Spring 2023 appeared first on Game News.
]]>EA Sports PGA Tour is the first major return to the golf sim in some time. It made its debut last March, when it was revealed that it would include a variety of popular golf courses and players that stemmed from a PGA Tour partnership.
However, the new PGA Tour’s release date was delayed indefinitely back in November, and now EA has confirmed in a new press release that it’s being pegged for Spring 2023.
When the game does launch, however, players will be able to access all four major golf championships, including the US Open Championship, Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, and Open Championship. It’ll also include a full career mode as well as a revamped Create-A-Player mode for players to build their own personal golfer to navigate the game with.
EA Sports has labeled the new PGA Tour as a “next-gen” golf game that recreates famous courses in meticulous detail with the power of PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game has been confirmed for both PlayStation and Xbox’s latest consoles, but it will more than likely find a home on last-gen consoles as well. There’s no concrete release date just yet, but given that there’s still a year left to wait before its debut now, additional details will likely be sprinkled out over the coming months about when to expect it.

]]>The post EAs new patent could stop its servers from dropping out so often appeared first on Game News.
]]>Although the patent, which is called “Providing video game content to an online connected game (opens in new tab)” was first filed by EA back in 2020, it was only recently approved. In short, the patent actually focuses on machine learning, but would utilize this form of technology to analyze the connection of a player in real time.
EA’s servers would use this patent’s technology to study requests sent in by players to the server, and deduce how reliable the server itself was at carrying out the requests of the player. The machine learning tech would then acquire these results, and run them through a test to reveal the probability that the server would be able to carry out the requests of the player.
This all boils down to EA being able to run tests on servers while they’re still live, so FIFA and Battlefield servers could be monitored while they’re still being used by players around the world. The tests will feed back data to EA that will reveal which servers aren’t able to fulfil requests that players have submitted, thus being able to register which servers require maintenance before problems get out of hand.
Considering the longevity of EA’s FIFA series, and its commitment to improving Battlefield 2042, this is no doubt good news for online players throughout EA’s games. A new trademark from the company recently hinted that they could actually drop the FIFA name from the ongoing sports series in the future, as “EA Sports FC” was found referenced online.

]]>The post NBA 2K publisher sued for $5 million over loot boxes appeared first on Game News.
]]>Earlier today on March 7, Bloomberg (opens in new tab) reported that Take-Two was the subject of a class-action lawsuit. Filed in Illinois earlier this year, the lawsuit accuses Take-Two of “unfair, deceptive and unlawful practices,” stemming from the use of loot boxes in the NBA 2K series of basketball games.
The complainant alleges that loot boxes “psychologically distance” the player from the true financial nature of their spending on said items. The plaintiff is requesting at least $5 million USD in damages from Take-Two, claiming that minors, who often purchase loot boxes with their parent’s credit cards, are particularly vulnerable.
A Take-Two spokesperson declined any comment to Bloomberg regarding the ongoing legal proceedings.
Scrutiny around loot boxes has been going on for a fair while now. Back in April 2020, for example, the North American ESRB board announced it would call out loot boxes in games going forward, stressing the random nature of the purchases. Games that sold anything for real world money, no matter if they were loot boxes or not, were all slapped with the new warning from the ratings board.
More recently, EA has been on the defensive surrounding the use of loot boxes in FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode. EA’s chief experience officer Chris Bruzzo spoke about loot boxes in an interview last October, claiming that they mirror the economics of “real world football” and enable “player choice.” Bruzzo compared the ability to purchase game-affecting items like players for real world money as being “just like real world football.”

]]>The post FIFA 22 Future Stars guide to new cards for Pedri and Daka appeared first on Game News.
]]>
FIFA 22 Future Stars kicked off on Friday, February 4. The name is a giveaway: it’s a new batch of cards covering the world’s best young players, all of which have huge ratings boosts. So while Smith Rowe’s normal card is rated 76, his new item gets a 91 OVR – while Konate leaps from 78 to 89.
All players are under 23 and haven’t been featured in previous edition campaigns such as FIFA 21 Future Stars.

Smith Rowe and Konate, obviously, while the highest-rated player is prodigious England talent Jude Bellingham (CM, Dortmund, 93). Also breaking the 90 barrier are Dusan Vlahovic (ST, Piemonte Calcio, 92) and Aurelien Tchouameni (CM, Monaco, 91). The other Premier League players initially found in packs are Joao Pedro (ST, Watford, 87) and Trincao (RW, Wolves, 87).
Additionally you could nab Arthur Cabral (ST, Fiorentina, 87) in the first FIFA 22 Future Stars SBC, and Chelsea starlet Trevoh Chalobah was on offer as an objectives-based challenge. His initial card is rated 79, but the completion of in-game tasks unlocks additional cards which go all the way up to 88.
All the cards from Team 1 are included in the player list at the end of this guide.

Social media reckoned there was a FIFA 22 Future Stars Team 2 leak before the promo even began, and many of those players listed did indeed get new cards second time around. They include Barcelona midfielder Pedri (CM, 93), Leicester City striker Patson Daka (ST, 88), Real Betis left-back Miranda (LB, 86), and outstanding Ajax prospect Ryan Gravenberch (CM, 92).
Also added in the follow-up squad are Bryan Gil (LM, Valencia, 89) and Mohammed Salisu (CB, Southampton, 86), while new objectives rewards include Samuel Chukwueze (RM, Villarreal, 88) and Amine Gouri (ST, OGC Nice, 88).
All Team 2 additions are included in the full Future Stars card list at the foot of this feature.

FIFA 22 Future Stars Swap Tokens were a bonus element of FIFA 22 TOTY (Team Of The Year) which carried over into this promo. Completing objectives and SBCs scored up to 28 tokens that can be exchanged for packs or players.
25 tokens could be traded in for a player pick from Future Stars Team 1, or you could offload 20 tokens in return for an 89-rated version of Crystal Palace midfielder Gallagher.
15 tokens earned you a pack of 10 players rated 85 or more, while you could exchange 12 tokens for Jeremie Frimpong (RB, Leverkusen, 88).
Alternatively you could trade 12 tokens for a random Team 1 player, 8 tokens for an 88-rated Frimpong card, 5 tokens for an Ultimate Pack, 3 tokens for a pack of 10 cards rated 81-89, or 2 tokens for a Rare Players Pack.
All of these challenges sadly expired on Friday, February 25.

Yep. The complete FIFA 22 Future Stars cards list, including rewards for SBCs, challenges and player tokens, is listed below. It’s correct as of Tuesday, March 1.

]]>
1. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) – 99
2. Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – 97
3. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) – 96
4. Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) – 94
5. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) – 91
Mahomes and Brady mark their sharing of the Madden 22 cover honours by securing spots in the top two, while Drew Brees falls out of the elite five completely – although he does have a reasonable excuse. Namely: retirement. Madden 21 cover star Jackson nabs the top five slot vacated by Brees.

1. Christian McCaffrey (Carolina Panthers) – 97
2=. Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans) – 96
2=. Nick Chubb (Cleveland Browns) – 96
4. Dalvin Cook (Minnesota Vikings) – 95
5. Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints) – 94
McCaffrey clings onto the number one spot he held in Madden 21, although with a two-point OVR drop – eliminating him from the esteemed 99 Club. Henry can feel a touch hard done by in second, having pounded out 2027 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns in a ruthless 2020 campaign.

1. Davante Adams (Green Bay Packers) – 99
2. DeAndre Hopkins (Arizona Cardinals) – 98
3. Tyreek Hill (Kansas City Chiefs) – 98
4. Stefon Diggs (Buffalo Bills) – 97
5. Julio Jones (Tennessee Titans) – 95
Aaron Rodgers’ favourite target proved a workhouse again in 2020, justifying his 99 OVR via 115 catches for 1407 yards and an astonishing 18 touchdowns. Diggs was arguably even better, with 127 catches, 1535 yards and eight touchdowns – but it wasn’t enough to pip Adams, Hopkins or Hill in EA Tiburon’s eyes.

1. Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs) – 99
2. George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) – 96
3. Darren Waller (Las Vegas Raiders) – 93
4. Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens) – 88
5. Hunter Henry (New England Patriots) – 87
At the age of 31, Patrick Mahomes’ main target man is considered by many to be the greatest tight end of all time. Across eight NFL seasons Kelce has snagged 612 catches for 7,881 yards and 48 touchdowns, joining Mahomes for a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance last time out. There was no doubt he’d top this list.
1. David Bakhtiari (LT, Green Bay Packers) – 96
2. Terron Armstead (LT, New Orleans Saints) – 95
3. Trent Williams (LT, San Francisco 49ers) – 94
4. Ronnie Stanley (LT, Baltimore Ravens) – 93
5. Tyron Smith (LT, Dallas Cowboys) – 91
Left tackles populate this list in its entirely, which isn’t surprising – it’s famously the position which protects a quarterback’s blind side. As for right tackles, the best you’ll find is a pair of players with overall ratings of 89 – Ryan Ramczyk of the New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl winner Tristan Wirfs.
1. Zack Martin (RG, Dallas Cowboys) – 98
2. Quenton Nelson (LG, Indianapolis Colts) – 95
3. Brandon Brooks (RG, Philadelphia Eagles) – 92
4. Rodney Hudson (C, Arizona Cardinals) – 92
5. Jason Kelce (C, Philadelphia Eagles) – 91
A real mix of interior linemen here, with Dallas dominator Zack Martin the pick of the pile, and two Eagles players making the top five. Alongside them, starting right tackle Lane Johnson also boasts a lofty overall score of 88. It’s always sunny on the Philly offensive line, at least in Madden.

1. Aaron Donald (RE, Los Angeles Rams) – 99
2. Myles Garrett (RE, Cleveland Browns) – 98
3=. Fletcher Cox (DT, Philadelphia Eagles) – 94
3=. JJ Watt (LE, Arizona Cardinals) – 94
5. Cameron Jordan (LE, New Orleans Saints) – 93
Mostly defensive ends here, led by LA talisman Donald. He finished Madden 21 with scores of 99 strength, 99 awareness, and 95 tackling, and in real life waltzed his way to the NFL Defensive Player Of The Year gong for the third time in four years. Standouts at defensive tackle include Chris Jones (Kansas City Chiefs, 92) and Deforest Buckner (Indianapolis Colts, 92).

1. Khalil Mack (LOLB, Chicago Bears) – 96
2=. Chandler Jones (LOLB, Arizona Cardinals) – 94
2=. Fred Warner (MLB, San Francisco 49ers) – 94
2=. TJ Watt (LOLB, Pittsburgh Steelers) – 94
5=. Lavonte David (MLB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – 93
5=. Von Miller (LOLB, Denver Broncos) – 93
No ROLBs on this list of elite linebackers – the best to be found in Madden 22 at that particular position is Denver’s Bradley Chubb, with an overall of 85. Mack usurps Bobby Wagner from top spot, with the Seattle MLB’s rating falling from 98 to 92.

1. Jalen Ramsey (Los Angeles Rams) – 99
2. Stephon Gilmore (New England Patriots) – 97
3. Jaire Alexander (Green Bay Packers) – 95
4. Tre’Davious White (Buffalo Bills) – 93
5. Marlon Humphrey (Baltimore Ravens) – 92
There’s no spot on this list for Dolphins’ ball hawk Xavien Howard – he has to settle for sixth place with an OVR of 91. Gilmore grabbed the maximum overall rating in Madden 21, but slips out of the 99 Club due to injury and absence. He suffered a partially torn quad in December, having already missed part of the season due to Covid.

1. Tyrann Mathieu (SS, Kansas City Chiefs) – 95
2. Budda Baker (SS, Arizona Cardinals) – 93
3. Devin McCourty (FS, New England Patriots) – 92
4=. Jessie Bates III (FS, Cincinatti Bengals) – 91
4=. Justin Simmons (FS, Denver Broncos) – 91
Fantasy players know Arizona’s Budda Baker to be a tackling machine, but it’s not enough to supplant Super Bowl runner-up Mathieu from the top of this chart. Minnesota’s Harrison Smith, rated the best safety going in Madden 21, exits the elite five with a small OVR drop to 90.
1. Justin Tucker (Baltimore Ravens) – 87
2. Jason Sanders (Miami Dolphins) – 85
3. Harrison Butker (Kansas City Chiefs) – 84
4. Josh Lambo (Jacksonville Jaguars) – 83
5. Graham Gano (New York Giants) – 82
Miami and the blue half of New York grace this list for the first time, thanks to the accurate legs of Sanders and Gano respectively. The Phins’ highest rated non-special-teams player in Madden 22 is the aforementioned Howard (CB, 91), while that honour for the G-Men is shared by cornerback James Bradberry IV and running back Saqoun Barkley, both on 90.
1. Johnny Hekker (Los Angeles Rams) – 86
2. Brett Kern (Tennessee Titans) – 85
3. Sam Koch (Baltimore Ravens) – 84
4. Tress Way (Washington Football Team) – 83
5. JK Scott (Green Bay Packers) – 82
It’s Washington’s turn to creep onto this list late in the day, thanks to the booming boot of Tress Way. Other standouts for the still nickname-less team from DC? Kendall Fuller (CB, 89), Terry McLaurin (WR, 89) and Jonathan Allen (DT, 88).

]]>The post Windjammers 2 release date set for January 2022 appeared first on Game News.
]]>Developer Dotemu shared the release date of January 22, 2022 along with a new trailer for the game, which serves as a quick primer for everything longtime fans and newcomers can expect. Windjammers 2 is headed to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Stadia, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S, and it will also be included with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass as soon as it arrives.
Windjammers was first released in 1994 as a Neo Geo arcade game by the now defunct Data East Corporation. Its unique fusion of sports action with fighting-game style inputs and special moves (we’d also be remiss not to mention its deliciously ’90s athletic fashion aesthetic) helped turn Windjammers into a perennial cult favorite. Then Dotemu finally gave it a remaster for modern gaming systems in 2016, complete with an all-new online versus mode.
According to a PlayStation Blog (opens in new tab) post from Dotemu brand manager Adrien Marie, the studio always planned to follow that remake with a full-fledged sequel. The studio took great pains to remain true to the fundamentals of Windjammers even as it added in all-new gameplay mechanics, characters, and arenas, and we won’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on the final result.
The original Windjammers has a ton of room for high-level play, but it’s also a lot of fun just to mess around with – here’s hoping the sequel has what it takes to make our list of the best party games.

]]>The post Brad Pitts new Formula 1 movie at center of bidding war between Netflix, Amazon, and more appeared first on Game News.
]]>The movie is about Formula 1 racing and will star Pitt, but it’s currently untitled and nothing has been revealed about the plot yet. However, Deadline reports that British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is involved in some capacity.
It will be helmed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, while Ehren Kruger, the screenwriter of the Tom Cruise-led sequel, is penning the script. Kosinski has also previously directed movies like Tron: Legacy and Oblivion.
As for Pitt, he was last seen on the big screen in 2019 in the sci-fi drama Ad Astra and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and has been producing rather than acting over the past couple of years. His work behind the camera includes executive producing Minari, Kajillionaire, and Irresistible.
However, it looks like he’s set to return to acting with a bang. Along with this untitled project, he has several other big movies in the works that are due out in 2022 – he’ll appear in the adventure comedy The Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock, the action thriller Bullet Train, and the period drama Babylon opposite Margot Robbie.
While we wait for Pitt’s next movie to zoom onto the big screen, check out our list of the other upcoming movies to get excited about in 2021 and beyond.
