The post Prime members to receive priority for PS5 restocks at Amazon all month appeared first on Game News.
]]>Minutes after the PS5 restock was announced by Amazon (opens in new tab) the PS5 was available for purchase for Prime Members. Consoles sold out quickly, while those who did manage to cop a device reported issued at checkout with error messages, however, there is a silver lining. Amazon has confirmed that Prime Members will be given priority throughout the month of March for any new drops.
We were previously seeing the first bullet point on the PS5 product page reading “Amazon Prime customers will be given priority access to the PlayStation 5 through 3/31“.

Amazon Prime free trial
If you’re not already an Amazon Prime member you can currently pick up a 30 day free trial (opens in new tab) which will give you access to future PS5 restocks and plenty more perks as well. After the trial ends, your membership will continue at $14.99 a month.
The trend of paid members seems to be continuing, as many retailers are now making those with subscriptions a priority for next-generation console purchases. Similarly, PS5 restocks were also found at Walmart (opens in new tab) last week, but were also reserved for Walmart Plus members.
Sony has also been quite regular with their invite-only PS5 restocks. Invites were last sent on February 18, with gamers being able to purchase the PS5 on the 22nd. We recommend trying this option if you’re still struggling to get your hand on a console; as you never know, Sony may bless you with an invitation. This route does not require a membership or subscription, just a simple sign up.
There’s still no word from Best Buy (opens in new tab) or Gamestop (opens in new tab) on any PS5 restocks. Both retailers have not had a drop since January; however, they have seen the Xbox Series X grace the shelves. Sources have said that both retailers are revving up for a huge restock, so we’re hoping to see PS5s too.
PS5 | $499 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
Amazon is the latest retailer to offer a PS5 restock, which has now sold out. However Amazon has suggested that more stock will be coming through March for Prime Members.
PS5 Digital | $399 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
Digital versions of the console were also available during Amazon’s restock, with a strong possibility of them returning with any future restock. If you’re more of a digital games person, this ones for you.
Which PS5 should you Buy?
If you cant decide which PS5 go for, here is a break down of both the Disk and Digital versions of the consoles. Both the digital and disk version are AMD Zen 2-based CPU, the same 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit memory, and the same 825GB SSD.
Disk – If you have a whole collection of disk from your PS4, then the Disk version is for you. With this version, your able to play any PS4 disk game you have with the PS5 backwards compatibility.
Digital – Not much of a hard copy collector, no problem. The Digital version is for you. And with the PS store at the click of the button, the Digital version makes game purchases and downloads easy.
We’ve spent a considerable amount of time poring over PS5 restocks, which means we’ve built up a bank of tips and tricks to securing your own console. These are our best nuggets of advice if you’re struggling to jump on stock on time.
Consider memberships
Getting a PS5 is hard enough, but now it is becoming mandatory to have a paid subscription or Membership to get your hands on the console. If you’ve got the budget this may be something to consider as it’s now becoming the only way to guarantee a console from one the big retailers.
Learn your retailers
Learn the patterns of your favourite retailers. many of them have a system on how often they restock on items and when the next drop is likely. Make sure to bookmark them and check in regularly on when the next possible drop is.
Follow PS5 restock channels on social media.
There are plenty of social media accounts that are dedicated to following the trails of big retailers and when the next restock is, with many of them being very accurate. We’d recommend following them to stay up to date on any updates.
We’re rounding up all the latest PS5 deals on the best PS5 accessories, as well as all the latest Xbox Series X restock updates as well.

]]>The post After a PS5 restock today? Sony Direct is looking like your best bet appeared first on Game News.
]]>Punters across the US and UK will be to be signed in (opens in new tab) to the PlayStation Direct Store with an email address associated with your PSN ID to have a chance at this PS5 restock. If you’re selected, you will be issued with instructions and details on how to purchase the coveted system.
Given that PS5 restocks were previously available at Sony Direct exactly one week ago today, January 13, it’s looking likely that a PS5 stock drop will go live today, though we cannot guarantee for sure or give an exact time.
Sony has stated that it has a ‘limited amount of PS5 consoles available for customers to purchase direct from PlayStation’. While a specific number of PS5 restocks has not been issued, given the trends we’ve observed over the past year, PS5 stock drops are likely to be very few in number across both the US and UK.
It’s worth reiterating that just because you receive an invitation to purchase a PS5 console, that does not guarantee that PS5 stock will be available. As Sony itself states: ‘your purchase window is open for a limited time only and while supplies last’. We recommend keeping a close watch on your inbox today in case you get the good news from the hardware manufacturer.
As for other retailers to watch for PS5 restocks, it has been a week since Gamestop (opens in new tab) and Walmart (opens in new tab) last had a stock drop, so we advise checking in with these retailers in case they go live with fresh supply today.
According to certain rumors, PS5 restocks could be becoming slightly more challenging to get your hands on over the next few months. However, we’ve been tracking PS5 stock for some time now and have a few essential tips to help make your improve your purchasing chances.
1. Have your payment information ready to go
Given just how competitive the field of PS5 restocks often is, we recommend having your bank card or alternative payment solution to hand in the chance you get invited to buy the console.
2. Keep an eye out on your inbox
Given that it’s highly likely that PS5 stock will go live today from Sony Direct, keeping a watch out for that email from Sony is the best way to ensure you don’t miss out.
3. Be patient
While PS5 restocks may seem rare, they tend to happen at least once a week. It’s never worth paying far in excess for the system to a secondary reseller if you’re unsuccessful today.

]]>The post A PS5 restock is at Walmart today – heres how to get involved appeared first on Game News.
]]>Walmart Plus (opens in new tab) is the only way to get access to today’s PS5 restock. This makes it worthy of a spin for those still chasing PS5 stock this year. At $13 a month, it’s not bad value, given it’s other benefits, but it’ll surely have paid for itself if it bags you the console. You can also go for the 15-day free trial (opens in new tab) to test it out first, but remember: trial users won’t be able to gain early access to this PS5 restock.
PS5 restocks are now more important than ever for those looking to get a console before the Holidays – and Christmas – arrive. There’s always been hope that retailers would be piling up stock ready for Christmas shoppers to take advantage of, and Walmart seems to be proving that this might be the case with a drop later on today (opens in new tab).
This Walmart PS5 restock will be starting at 12pm ET and will be exclusive to Walmart Plus members. This is something we’ve seen Walmart do before, with last month’s Cyber Monday being the most recent time.
What started as a means to allow early access to PS5 restock deals has now turned into full exclusivity – this is a little harsh, adding a further barrier, but other retailers have been at this too, notably Amazon with its Prime membership. Anyway, at $12.95 a month (opens in new tab), it’s not bad value for its benefits, and particularly so if it finally gets you that PS5. Plus, you can always cancel it after you’ve used it too.
It’s a bit of an inconvenience having to spend money in order to only have a chance of spending more money, but the extra benefits soften the blow a bit, and being able to finally bag that elusive PS5 stock is definitely going to be a driver.
It’s worth noting that Sony Direct has also come out with PS5 restocks this week, and with each day that passes, another opportunity for getting a machine before Christmas comes and goes – this makes each PS5 restock a vital chance to get the console.
PS5 | $499.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
This Walmart PS5 restock is going to be a proper stock drop. And that means you’ve got to be prepared to be as smooth and as quick as possible. It’ll be just as highly sought-after as it has been all year, so get there in advance and be prepared to strike.

PS5 Digital Edition | $399.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
This Walmart PS5 restock will also have the Digital Edition up for grabs too, so if you’re looking to go digital-only in this new-gen of consoles, then this is the one to aim for today. Proving very popular indeed, alongside its disc drive brother, the fight will be fierce for this model.
PS5 ($499.99 / £449.99) | Check at Amazon (opens in new tab)
The full console is best for those looking for the complete PS5 experience (and a good serving of PS4 as well). The only difference here is that disk drive, but considering you’ll be saving money buying physical games rather than being locked into the PS Store, there’s plenty of value here.

PS5 Digital Edition ($399.99 / £359.99) | Check at Amazon (opens in new tab)
If you’re looking to spend as little as possible, there’s always the Digital Edition. There’s no disk drive here, so you are limited to your digital library (and Sony’s own PS Store), but if you don’t have a large physical PS4 collection and you’re savvy with those PS5 game sales, this could be the better option.
PS5 restocks come and go with such speed that it can be frustrating working out exactly how to break through to the site and then to checkout. We see plenty of retailers with site slow-downs, and customers having their consoles sniped out of their carts right at the last second. Over the year we’ve spent tracking PS5 restocks, then, these are the tips we’ve found most helpful.
Follow retailers and stock trackers
Before racing to checkout, you’ll have to be in the right place at the right time to make sure you’ve got a fighting chance at a PS5 restock. That means keeping a close eye on retailers via social media so that you never miss an announcement.
Sign in and save your payment details
When it comes down to the wire, it’s important to note that seconds can mean the difference between successfully checking out with a console in your cart and walking away with an L. Sign into your favorite retailers ahead of time, and make sure you stay signed in, saving your payment and shipping details to speed through the checkout process at crunch time.
Keep refreshing
When the time comes, you’ll want to keep that refresh button warm. Retailer sites are under considerable strain during large PS5 restocks, with so many consumers flooding to a single page so quickly. That means you’ll need to brute force your way through, with as many tabs open as you can manage.
Don’t give up
We often see retailers launching PS5 stock in waves, which means you won’t want to walk away too soon. Even when the page suggests the console is out of stock, we’d recommend spending a little while longer refreshing. You never know when the next round will begin and you might land lucky.
If you manage to secure the console, don’t forget to check out our guides on the best PS5 headsets and best TV for PS5. Equally, our PS5 SSD or best PS5 external hard drives guides may be of use if you’re looking for bonus storage.

]]>The post Walmart PS5 restock rumored to kick off Thanksgiving week appeared first on Game News.
]]>The tweet suggests not only that both the Xbox Series X and PS5 are heading to the shelves, but also that Walmart Plus members (opens in new tab) will have early access. Well, that’s the impression many are taking from the image. Looking at the placement of the Walmart Plus early access ad, it could well be that the retailer will simply be offering the standard four hour head start on the rest of its Black Friday deals, rather than on its PS5 restock specifically.
Walmart Plus 15 day free trial
Walmart Plus (opens in new tab) is giving customers early access to both PS5 restocks and Black Friday deals this year. That means there’s plenty of value in taking the service out for a spin. The membership costs $13 a month, but you can pick up a 15 day free trial (opens in new tab) to test it out first.
Still, Walmart has given its Plus members a head start on PS5 restocks in the past, so if you’re looking to give the hunt for a new console everything you’ve got, it might well be a service worth considering.
The $12.95 monthly service (opens in new tab) gives its users the aforementioned Black Friday early access, as well as free delivery, member prices on fuel, and other in-store perks as well. There’s a 15 day free trial available should you want to test it out for yourself, though note that the small print does state that you won’t be able to use early access privileges if on a trial basis.
Regardless of whether Walmart Plus members will get early access to this PS5 restock, we’d recommend getting there nice and early, and keeping your account signed in with payment details saved so that there’s no additional waiting at checkout. This is going to be a particularly competitive PS5 restock, especially with Xbox Series X stock also hitting the shelves just a few days before Black Friday PS5 deals officially kick off.
If you’re after something a little sooner, Best Buy (opens in new tab) is ready to pop with some new PS5 restocks, and we’re also expecting a little more movement from Target (opens in new tab) in the run up to the holiday sales as well. Amazon (opens in new tab), of course, could move at any time so it’s always worth staying in touch there as well.
PS5 – Nov 22 | $499.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
This Walmart PS5 restock is simply rumored at this stage, but an early peek at next week’s Black Friday ad does suggest that more units are heading to the shelves on November 22. We’d recommend getting prepared, then, as this is going to move quickly.
