The post Outriders armour has been bugging out, but there’s a simple fix appeared first on Game News.
]]>As you can see from the mammoth Outriders patch notes, update 1.07 brought a lot of fixes with it, but it also created an extra bug for players to contend with, by making player’s armour a bit useless. Outrider’s developers People Can Fly acknowledged the bug on Twitter (opens in new tab) and said that it’s looking into a fix, but one player has come up with a temporary solution in the meantime: Just take your armour off and then put it back on to get it working again.
The exact problem with Outriders player’s armour isn’t clear, but many people have taken to Reddit to complain about how squishy and vulnerable their characters seem since the latest update. Thorkle13 (opens in new tab), the user who discovered the fix, did some testing and determined that their armour was only blocking about 10% of incoming damage before using the trick, and 30-40% of damage afterwards. This is a marked improvement, though not necessarily a complete fix of the issue.
Other players have joined the investigations in response to that thread, and there are several theories going around as to what’s happening and what triggers the bug. Some players think that it’s caused by cutscenes (opens in new tab), while another have pointed out that all their armour is flagged as new (opens in new tab) at the end of every expedition.
Outriders has had more than its share of issues since launch. Many players haven’t been able to play in weeks since an earlier Outriders patch which wiped some player’s inventories. The game has also suffered from numerous server issues and outages, and many of the community still find the multiplayer modes unplayable due to poor connections thanks to the game’s peer-to-peer networking solution.
If you’re getting battered up and down Enoch and need some help, then our Outriders tips page has you covered.

So you’ve spoken to Lucy, “rescued” Monique from her “captor”, and returned to Lucy to receive the key she had. Your next objective is in the Quarry – but where is that?
In essence, you just need to keep playing and forget about The Outriders Legacy quest for now. This is a side quest that spans almost the entire length of the game so you won’t be able to tick it all off in one go. Continue with the main story in the Wreckage Zone and then only after that, when you’ve completed the Mentor and Onslaught main missions, will you be able to travel to the Quarry.
When you get to the Quarry, you need to keep going until you lower the outpost bridge so the convoy can enter. Then, when camp is set up, you’ll be able to switch focus to The Outriders’ Legacy and search for the bunker.

The Outriders Legacy quest is a long one, but if you’re struggling, here are the cliff notes for what you need to do, as spoiler-free as possible. If you’re not sure where to go next, chances are you haven’t unlocked the correct region and you need to simply play through more of the main story.

All of Outriders legendary weapons consist of a base weapon type – assault rifle, shotgun and so on – with two mods that add additional effects, one of which will be Tier 3. These effects can deal more damage, boost player healing, make enemies more vulnerable, slower, explode and plenty more. The combination of base weapon type and mod effects usually indicate a pretty clear way to use the weapon to best effect, so always check the mods and what they do to ensure you’re getting the best from it.

Absolute Zero is, unsurprisingly, one of the cold themed Outriders legendary weapons. It’s an assault rifle that inflicts a freezing effect on enemies and makes them more vulnerable.
Variant: Sharpshooter
Mods:
This burst-fire legendary assault rifle is another gun that makes shots deal extra damage over time, thanks to the Sandstorm mod. Vortex Chamber helps keep enemies trapped in said sandstorm.
Variant: Burst
Mods:

Combine this burst-fire legendary assault rifle with any mods that affect critical hits and you suddenly become a critical hit monster. If you can be accurate enough to get them consistently…
Variant: Burst
Mods:

Dome of Protection means that the Master Tool legendary assault rifle is especially good against any enemies that can fire back at you, rather than versus Perforos or Maulers.
Variant: Sharpshooter
Mods:

The Thunderbird is a legendary assault rifle that adds lightning damage to attacks while boosting your health from critical damage. Good when you need a bit more healing.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Time Ripper legendary assault rifle is all about slowing enemies down so you can target critical hits easier, thus dealing increased damage. Similar to Inferno Seed, except enemies are slower, not burned.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

This legendary assault rifle is focused on damage and best used against groups as it links enemies so that they share damage. It also makes whoever you hit more vulnerable so you can hurt them more even when they aren’t linked.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
It might feel counter-intuitive, but Damascus Offering is the best gun for those using skill builds. It focuses on dealing damage based on your Anomaly Power, so you’ll only be firing it whenever your skills are on cooldown.]
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Probably one of the most recognizable Outriders legendary weapons, this is a light machinegun that can slow enemies down and deal extra damage via explosive singularities generated by kill shots. Good for dealing with crowds of enemies.
Variant: Stablizing
Mods:

The Roaring Umbra legendary LMG in Outriders is all about dealing serious damage to any enemies that get too close to you. Devastators especially can make serious use of this gun.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Another legendary LMG that is generally just quite good, The Reaper makes sure practically every other bullet you fire will inflict weakness on enemies. Death Chains is also one of the top weapon mods in the game for general damage, especially on fast-firing guns.
Variant: Suppressing
Mods:

The Aerie Master shotgun immobilizes enemies by lifting them into the air using Time Rift and also increases the chances of inflicting critical damage. As Outriders legendary weapons go it’s all about getting in close and hammering enemies.
Variant: Breach
Mods:
One of the less interesting legendary shotguns, Anomaly Effigy makes enemies explode whenever you kill them, which deals damage to enemies within a radius. Great when there’s loads of small buggers, not so much for taking down an elite.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Body Snatcher mod that comes with the legendary pump-action shotgun is a wonderful mod, but isn’t great on a shotgun, although it is a lot of fun to use. So if you get Body Snatcher, we’d recommend scrapping it then applying the mod to something long-range.
Variant: Breach
Mods:
Darkness Charmer is one of those weapons that allows you to keep firing no matter what, consistently dealing serious damage. Since you’re highly unlikely to miss with a shotgun, this is one of the better legendaries on the table.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
Another legendary weapon that doesn’t have a specific focus and is instead more generalised, Enoch’s Blessing is best used when playing co-op because killing shots restore health to all players, rather than just the wielder.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Golem’s Limb is an Outriders Legendary pump action shot gun that both protects the user with a Golem effect and boosts your ability to leech health. It’s definitely a weapon to pull out when you’re expecting to take a lot of punishment. As far as Outriders legendary weapons go this is almost a support option.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

This pump action shotgun is an Outriders legendary weapon that’s all about healing you. It restores part of your health that stacks for each enemy killed between reloads and boosts your Leech ability to extract more health from killed enemies.
Variant: Standard
Mods

If you’re fighting a bunch of smaller enemies, The Guillotine is another great option with two mods that deal some serious radius damage thanks to explosives.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
The High Roller is aptly named thanks to the Clip Roller mod which allows you to reload with less than half of the magazine remaining. It also means you don’t need to rely on accuracy because after a kill, all ensuing shots will be critical hits.
Variant: Breach
Mods:

Deathshield is all about keeping you alive so if you’re rocking around with a lot of armor and health, you’ll get the most out of this epic looking automatic shotgun.
Variant: Narrow
Mods:

Want to command the skies? Funeral Pyre sort of lets you do that, because every single shot (with a three-second cooldown) calls down a comet which deals damage to enemies in a radius. Combine that with enemy resistances being reduced and bam, you’ve got yourself a heavy hitting wombo combo.
Variant: Slug
Mods:
Another gun that lives for the radius damage, The Anemoi has a relatively small clip of just 10 shots. That works well with the Moaning Winds ability, which deals damage around you whenever you reload.
Variant: Narrow
Mods:
This is almost a buffed version of The Anemoi above, because it uses the next tier of Anomaly Surge, called Ultimate Anomaly Surge. However, reloading isn’t as powerful here – instead, critical shots may not consume ammo. Personally, if I had both, I’d scrap The Bulwark and replace Anomaly Surge with Ultimate Anomaly Surge on The Anemoi.
Variant: Slug
Mods:

A very interesting legendary weapon indeed, Fatal Symbiont only works with a highly specified build thanks to the Dark Sacrifice mod. If you angle your loadout towards this gun though, then you can become seriously powerful indeed. Also, it looks horrifying.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
The Daimyo is all about your shots dealing massive damage and inflicting status effects. Every shot will strike enemies with lightning and slow them.
Variant: Tactical
Mods:

This Outriders legendary weapon is a submachine gun that makes enemies bleed and explode, which is great for crowd control. It also looks like a badly made rack of ribs for no reason.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
Got a build that relies on the Ash effect? The Wicker is the gun for you. Every shot will inflict mutliple enemies with Ash simultaneously, so you can chain together the effect.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Amber Vault is one of the few Outriders Legendary weapons we’ve seen so far that’s a double gun, which means it’s literally two guns stuck together. It’s got a high fire rate and damage output. It also uses Killing Spree to increase it’s damage output further and Brain-Eater to help save ammo, as critical shots don’t use ammo.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
Another legendary with a mod that makes enemies explode? Why not. Every enemy you kill will also increase your weapon leech.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Lucky Jinx legendary double gun is all about inflicting toxic on your foes and with an impressively high RPM, Perpetuum Mobile means you’ll be constantly skipping reloads.
Variant: Demolisher
Mods:
Other than excrescence being an incredible word, this legendary double gun is all about the Burn effect – excellent for any Pyromancer players. You can ricochet shots that inflict burn to more enemies too, as long as the enemy you shoot at first is substantially weak enough.
Variant: Burst Fire
Mods:

The Blightbearer has nothing to do with Blighted Rounds. Instead, this very cool looking rifle causes toxic explosions while simultaneously reducing the resistance of your target.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Molten Eidola is an Outriders legendary rifle that fires bullets that can create a swarm of locusts to damage and weaken enemies inside a certain radius. It also doesn’t consume any ammo for shots that are critical hits.
Variant: One-Shot
Mods:

This Outriders legendary weapon is all about damage. Rarog’s Gaze fires explosive bullets and inflicts a burning effect on the enemies it hits. It also weakens enemies in a radius around anyone you hit to soften them up.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Twisted Mercy doesn’t offer anything particularly special when it comes to its mods, but if you can consistently hit critical shots, you’ll save a lot of ammo.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Automatic sniper rifles in Outriders are unwieldy to use at best, but if you fancy giving it a go, the Icarus is certainly an option. You’ll always want to be hunting for critical shots because they don’t consume ammo and they spawn Anomaly energy blasts.
Variant: Full Auto
Mods:
Playing with pals who can inflict lots of status effects or using skills that do the same? The Mindmugger works best on enemies afflicted by status conditions, and links enemy damage together.
Variant: Full Auto
Mods:
Rather than just exploding your enemies, what about literally shattering their bones so the fragments fly out and damage nearby enemies? That’s what the Spirit Hunter is all about and as you’d expect, those bone fragments cause the enemies they hit to bleed.
Variant: Lightweight
Mods:
Another gun that inflicts toxic damage? Sure, why not. The Headhunter also grants you a boost to your Skill Leech for every killing shot, making it great for skill-based builds.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

The Iceberg is all about freezing and damage enemies. This Outriders legendary rifle can freeze enemies in place and also make them explode, causing damage to nearby targets.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Cool guys don’t look at explosions… they blow things up and then walk away! That’s what you’ll be singing with The Landlubber equipped because by the time you’ve fired a shot, you’ll be aiming at your next target, causing a chain of non-stop explosions.
Variant: Lightweight
Mods:
In the sidearm slot, Bolt & Thunder are two legendary pistols that deal electric damage to multiple enemies at once and whenever you kill an enemy, you restore some health.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
Disintegrator is like a lone version of Bolt & Thunder above, because the first mod is identical; Strings of Gauss. However, where Bolt & Thunder deal even more damage, Disintegrator offers some healing options.
Variant: Standard
Mods:
This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most badass weapon in the game. It should be the reward for completing the Big Iron quest, because you would quite literally have a Big Iron on your hip. Anyway, the Lucky legendary revolver ups the chance of a critical shot and makes it so every critical shot ricochets to more enemies and deals double the base damage of the weapon. Crazy.
Variant: Standard
Mods:

Torment and Agony are a really interesting pair of legendary pistols that mark enemies you shoot and then deal damage, with a multiplier, to marked targets when you reload. Plus reloading creates a shockwave that damages enemies in close proximity.
Variant: Full Auto

The Outriders stuck at signed in bug seems to be most common for PlayStation players on either PS4 or PS5 and is potentially linked to leaving the game suspended in rest mode. But if you’re encountering it on another platform, this solution should do the job as well.
This happens when trying to boot the game up and rather than sending you to the main menu, you get perpetually stuck at the signed in screen. While the devs are being transparent about most of the issues with the game so far on the official Reddit known issues thread (opens in new tab), this Outriders stuck on sign in bug hasn’t shown up yet so there’s no word on a fix.
For now, you can simply fix the issue by rebooting the game. The “have you tried turning it off and on again” trope really does work here. Alternatively, some users are reporting that genuinely waiting for a few minutes will eventually let you in, so if you reboot and get faced with the same screen, just idle for about 10 minutes or so and you’ll eventually make it through. Hopefully, these are just teething issues at launch and the problems will be fixed before too long.
Check out our Outriders best class and Outriders legendary weapons guides before you get stuck in.

]]>The post Outriders system requirements and PC features revealed appeared first on Game News.
]]>As detailed in the above trailer, the studio is targeting at least 60fps regardless of your PC specs, meaning the minimum requirements are very modest. “Basically, if you bought a desktop from the last six years, you’ll be fine,” says People Can Fly.
That said, you’ve got all the usual graphics settings – texture and shadow quality, antialiasing, Vsync, etc. – to dial-up if you want the best-looking, best-performing experience and have the PC to handle it. You can also lock and unlock your frame rate and adjust your field-of-view.
Here’s what you’ll need to run Outriders at its three different default settings, though I should note upfront that the studio hasn’t released CPU and GPU requirements for Ultra settings just yet.

Minimum (720p)
Recommended (1080p)
Ultra (4K)
Some of Outriders’ PC-exclusive features include dynamic resolution scaling, Nvidia DLSS and Ansel support, Ultra Wide monitor support, and Razer Chroma RGB lighting. You can also play Outriders on PC using “most” first-party controllers, including Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam gamepads.
Outriders launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on April 1, and on Google Stadia sometime this year. A free demo is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on February 25.

]]>First, we get a look at the fourth and final class, the Technomancer. The planet Enoch’s violent anomaly storms may knock out everyone’s tech, but the Technomancer can use its powers to exploit technology “to its most brutal capacity.” Sick. According to the video, Technomancers are a great class choice for players who “pay special attention to the flow of combat.” Technomancers love sniper rifles, interrupt boss skills, and can heal squadmates, so consider them a support role – or a great option for those trying to get through Enoch solo.
Technomancers’ playstyle can be best defined by three core tenets: Ordinance, Gadgets, and Decay. Their melee can freeze enemies, and a portion of the damage they deal to enemies will be recovered as health. The video goes into great detail on five of the eight abilities the Technomancer will have, so make sure to watch it if you’re interested in playing as the tech-summoning vampiric support characters (the Blighted Turret is pretty cool, NGL).
Now, everyone wants to know what happens after the Outriders campaign, and this Broadcast is the first time we’re getting any answers. Expeditions are the content you can jump into once you wrap up the main campaign and earn some new loot for your efforts. Since Outriders doesn’t have any live-service elements, it’s important to have some meaty post-campaign content. Expeditions will take you to points of interest that have popped up on Enoch that will offer new mysteries, new stories, and more powerful gear.
After you beat the main storyline, you’ll be in a new camp with a map showing new areas that are up for exploration. There will be no recycled content from the main campaign, instead Expeditions are “big, hand-crafted new levels with their own mechanics, challenges, and storyline.” These challenges will have Challenge Tiers, which offer you richer rewards the faster you clear a mission – but only after you clear it, as enemies will no longer drop loot.
You can adjust the Tier levels for each Expedition, and from the sound of it, you’ll need to, as these challenges are frequently referred to as “vicious” and “brutal.” Makes sense that you’ll only get to touch an Expedition after you’ve beaten the main campaign and – hopefully – crafted a solid character build.
Outriders Broadcast 4 also goes into great detail regarding the modding and crafting you can do in order to reach that illusive perfect build. It’s seriously in-depth, and worth a watch, but expect the ability to mod weapons, armor, and abilities. You can dismantle guns and replace mod slots on other weapons with a mod that you got from a dismantled gun – so if you want to be able to freeze your enemies and then strike them with lightening, you can pull an electricity mod from another weapon and slot it into a gun that freezes people Min-max until you go blue in the face, man.
There’s so much more in this broadcast that would be far too overwhelming to cover, but make sure to check it out if you’re interested in riding out when Outriders drops next year.

]]>The post Six minutes of Outriders gameplay footage shows off the games many influences appeared first on Game News.
]]>The video, which features creative director Bartek Kmita and lead writer Joshua Rubin, shows off three of the four classes you can choose from when playing Outriders (the fourth is TBA, so stay tuned). The three known classes are Pyromancer, Trickster, and Devastator, and the game is designed to balance these classes’ abilities with the hundreds of weapons you’ll find and upgrade throughout the game.
You can see from the footage that the Trickster manipulates time and space with skills like the Slow Trap, which slows down enemies and projectiles within a circular radius. The Devastator is a tank class, and heals by being close to enemies and doing damage. The Devastator’s Earthquake skill is “like a better shotgun” according to Kmita, but the most impressive is the Gollum, which temporarily buffs the Devastator’s armor so they’re virtually indestructible.
The Pyromancer isn’t featured until later, but it was the class I played during my hands-on preview of Outriders (opens in new tab). Playing as the Pyromancer means playing as a mid-range brawler that can turn enemies to ash or conjure a massive wall of fire that surges forth from the player. It’s hot. As mentioned in our hands-on, you do not need to bring one of each class into the fight, so parties can use any mixture of classes.
As you can tell from the footage, Outriders plays like a Mass Effect/Gears of War/Bulletstorm hybrid, but looks a helluva lot like Destiny. It’s fast-paced but features a lot of cover options, and the balance between skills and weapons feels like the best moments of Mass Effect 3.
The video also details Outriders’ loot system, which allows you to destroy items to gain scrap (or money), or buy items from vendors who will be located throughout the world. Check out the rest of the video to get some more details about the plot and what went wrong on Enoch, the planet that was supposed to be humanity’s home after Earth fell.
