]]>We generally see Nintendo Switch deals come and go in waves in both the US and UK, with bounties of stock available one week and shelves left barren the next. If you don’t quite make it to the stock below, then, we can safely say more will be along shortly. While Nintendo Switch OLED stock took a slight hit at the start of the month, we’re back to full capacity now, with plenty of consoles on the shelves. If the recent wobble has taught us anything, though, it’s that these devices aren’t set in stone, and could still trickle out of grasp.
You’ll find all the latest Nintendo Switch deals on the console by itself just below, and our pick of the best bundles available right now further down the page.
If you’re looking for Nintendo Switch deals on the console by itself, we’re rounding up all the latest prices from retailers across the web just below. You’ll find the best offers on the shelves right now in these comparison charts, but if you’re after a bundle deal, you’ll find all the latest discounts further down the page.
If you’re just looking for a handheld-only console, it’s worth checking out the Nintendo Switch Lite deals below. They are considerably cheaper than the main console (and much cheaper than the OLED model), but you are getting limited functionality without a docked mode. The standard price on these devices is $199 / £199.
Nintendo Switch OLED | $349.99 $339.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
Save $10 – We’ve seen the Nintendo Switch OLED stuck at $342 for a few weeks now, which makes this extra drop down to $339.99 so exciting. While that’s still $9 away from the record low $330 price, this is a particularly rare discount.

Nintendo Switch | 128GB memory card | $320 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
You’re saving around $15 on this Nintendo Switch bundle at Amazon, with the 128GB official memory card coming in at $20 rather than its usual $34.99 MSRP. These bundles come and go with Amazon’s Switch stock, so we wouldn’t wait too long on this new arrival.

Nintendo Switch | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | $349.98 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
While not as strong as the $299 Mario Kart 8 Nintendo Switch bundle we see over Black Friday, you’re still saving $10 on the full $59.99 MSRP of this must-have title with this offer. Considering we very rarely see too many bundle discounts in the US, those on the hunt for a standard edition console should take note here.
Nintendo Switch | £259.99 £229.99 at The Game Collection (opens in new tab)
Save £30 – The Game Collection has been offering a £239 sales price on the Nintendo Switch by itself for some time now, but we’ve just spotted an additional £10 off that sales price. Considering this is the cheapest price we’ve ever seen on the standard edition, this is a must-see Nintendo Switch deal.

]]>Many Nintendo Switch bundles already offer plenty of extra gear to get you set up from day one, but filling those gaps can enrich your handheld and docked play no end. From keeping your console protected to upgrading your storage, we’re rounding up all the best models and brands to add to your collection right here. You can head straight to the gear of your choice using the menu on the left, or settle in for the ride and peruse some of our must-have recommendations.
We’ve had our hands wrapped around a Nintendo Switch since launch, so we’ve been through all the latest and greatest peripherals to show you exactly which the best Nintendo Switch accessories really are.

The best case for Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED
Design: ClamshellProtection: Hard EVA shell, screen coverStorage: Mesh pouch and 8 games
+Room for accessories+Affordable+Hard EVA shell
-Needs more padding
A strong case is one of the best Nintendo Switch accessories you’ll buy. Orzly takes the kitchen-sink approach to storage; this case will fit the console, multiple Joy-Cons, games, cables, and SD cards inside without any fuss. It’s not too hefty or expensive either. And most importantly? It’ll keep the console safe as houses while you’re out and about.
This model is also compatible with the OLED model, thanks to the extra wiggle room the brand built into the shell itself. Your Joy-Con will all still neatly fall into the indented hard shell, with plenty of room leftover up top for accessories, cleaning cloths, and headphones. You’re also getting space for eight games in the screen cover as well.
In short, the Orzly is easily one of the best Nintendo Switch cases on the market right now. There’s even a Switch Lite version (see below), so users of the handheld-only console don’t have to miss out.

The best Nintendo Switch Lite case

+Space for small accessories+Cheap+Tough EVA shell
-Not as much padding as more expensive options
The Switch Lite blurs the line between handheld and home consoles, and its portability means you’ll need the best case for Nintendo Switch Lite to keep it undamaged. Luckily, Orzly have a model specifically designed to fit your Lite.
Although you won’t manage to get bonus Joy-Cons in there, this case will keep your new console and a few accessories safe on the go. That includes games, earbuds, chargers, and more.
Because it’s so affordable, grabbing one for your console is a no-brainer.

Best Nintendo Switch protective shell
Design: HardshellProtection: BumperStorage: None
+Can be used while playing+Damage-resistant+Cool design
-Won’t protect the screen
The Mumba case is a little different to the models listed above; rather than keeping your Switch safe in transit, it’s designed to protect it from damage in use. Put this on your console and you won’t need to worry about it being knocked about.
Grippy and sturdy in equal measure, the Mumba will make you feel more secure when taking your Switch out with you. Happily, it also fits into the Orzly carry case we mentioned above. Using both results in the perfect double-threat to keep your console safe in use and during travel.

The best controller for multiplayer
Connection: Wireless / direct to consoleButtons: 1x thumbstick per controller, 4x buttons per controller, 2x triggers per controllerBattery life: Approx 20 hoursAmiibo support: YesHaptics: HD rumbleMotion control: Yes
+Can be used as a pair or solo+Multiple colors available+Packed with features
-Occasional Joy-Con drift
Joy-Cons are the best Nintendo Switch controllers on the market. Included with the standard console, they can be used alone, in pairs, and on the detachable screen in handheld mode. This versatility makes them perfect for multiplayer sessions – get two pairs and you can share them between four people. While the priciest of Nintendo’s controller options, they really are one of the best Nintendo Switch accessories on the market, and you’re essentially grabbing two controllers here too.
Although there have been issues here and there with the dreaded ‘Joy-Con drift’ where the left thumbstick goes faulty, they’re generally reliable and easy to use. In fact, they give the old Nintendo Wii Remotes a run for their money.
A lot of that is due to their motion control, but it’s mostly due to the fact that they’re smaller, more comfortable, and provide greater flexibility by having an analogue stick on each side.

-Other color options are difficult to find
Sometimes Joy-Cons aren’t enough; sometimes you want something a bit more precise. That’s where the official Nintendo Pro Controller comes in. This classically-styled handset has a layout that draws on everything from the Gamecube to Xbox One, and it’s a must-have for games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or Splatoon 2. It’s accurate, comfortable, and reliable.
After picking up a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, the Joy-Cons have barely left the dock on my Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller review
Don’t think it’s a cheeky money spinner for Nintendo that you won’t get any benefit from, either. Pick one up and you can immediately tell that it’s a premium controller. Textured handles provided plenty of much-needed precision in our testing, and we found that the thumbsticks provide far greater control than those of the Joy-Con as well, particularly in fiddly titles like Fuser.
We did find, however, that the face buttons are a strangely high profile compared to the rest of the body, and could be more comfortable with slightly rounded edges. We were also impressed by the overall balance and feel as well, noting the solid design with no hollow plastic noises.
Sure, you can pick up similar ‘pro controllers’ for a lot less from other manufacturers (like the generally excellent PowerA). However, you’re better off with the official Nintendo model in our experience. Not only is the build-quality excellent, it boasts Amiibo functionality that third-party alternatives lack.

+Cheap+Fun designs+Motion control and wireless functions
-No Amiibo features
Want a more traditional controller for Switch, but don’t want to pay loads for it? No problem – third-party manufacturers like PowerA are here to help. Their wired and wireless pro controllers are of an excellent quality and feature motion control to go with their slick design.
Happily, they also come in many different designs. That includes everything from Animal Crossing to Pokemon, so you’re bound to find something that suits you in their range.
The only thing to bear in mind is the fact that they don’t have Amiibo functionality. You’ll need an official Pro Controller or Joy-Con for that.

The Hori Split Pad Pro is perfect for anyone looking for a cheaper set of replacement Joy-Con or those who find the original controllers a little too small to comfortable settle in with. The larger ergonomic design provides a far better grip than the official gamepad (though the Hori model is still officially licensed), and you’re even getting some additional functionality in those rear bumpers as well. Add a lower price point and a real D-Pad and you’ve got yourself a compelling Nintendo Switch accessory.

+Fully moddable +Turbo function+Dedicated macro buttons+Wireless connection+NES-style aesthetic
-A little difficult to mod
The 8BitDo Arcade Stick is nowhere near as expensive as some of the most luxurious models out there, but still packs a surprising number of features into a sub-$100 / £100 price point. From a fully moddable array of buttons to additional macro features and a wireless connection, there’s plenty going on here to keep any fighting fan in the game.
While more premium devices will make that modding journey a little easier for you, you can still swap sticks and components under the hood here. Plus, you’ll be able to configure everything using the 8BitDo Ultimate software as well. Add an NES-style aesthetic, solid build quality, and compatibility with PC and you’ve got a solid package.

The best memory card to start off
Storage: 128GBFormat: MicroSDHC, microSDXCTransfer speed: up to 100MB/s
+Relatively cheap+Plenty of storage space+Will last you a while
-Less value than larger cards
Regardless of the version you have (be it a classic Switch or the new Switch Lite), a drawback to the latest Nintendo console is its limited storage space. You’ll only get 32GB of internal memory out of the box, and this won’t carry you far. It’ll do just fine to begin with, sure, but games, updates, and DLC take up a lot of memory these days. That’s why SD cards are one of the best Nintendo Switch accessories to pick up on day one. They’ll boost your system’s storage by a long way, and they aren’t too pricey either.
To get specific, we’d recommend the SanDisk Ultra 128GB card. This is enough for five to ten big games or a load of smaller titles, so it’ll definitely keep you going for a while. We’d say it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch SD cards (opens in new tab) overall.

The best memory card for future proofing
Storage: 256GBFormat: MicroSDHC, microSDXCTransfer speed: up to 100MB/s
+More storage space+Better value for money
-More expensive
If you don’t think 128GB will cut it, SanDisk also produces cards all the way up to 1TB for the Nintendo Switch (and the system will take up to 2TB). Those cards will cost you significantly more, but at between $30-$40 (£30-£40), 256GB is a nice compromise.
We’d recommend this size storage card if you prefer to download your games but don’t plan on picking up every major release. Some of the latest games can take up some serious space, so if you are planning on stacking your library with every title we’d recommend moving up to 512GB (opens in new tab). That said, 256GB will be more than enough for the vast majority of players.

The best Nintendo Switch gaming headset overall
Acoustic design: Closed backConnection: Wireless (USB-C receiver)Drivers: 40mm Razer TriforceWeight: 250gBattery: up to 20 hours
+Excellent audio quality+Wireless+USB-C connection
-No additional software settings
The Razer Barracuda X is the best Nintendo Switch headset (opens in new tab) on the market right now, thanks to its simple plug and play design and excellent audio quality. We still use the Razer Barracuda X across a wide range of platforms, it’s become a daily driver.
It was refreshing to find a stripped back approach to features when we got our hands on this headset. There’s no expensive extra features in here to inflate that price tag and compete with esports-grade cups; just a solid set of headphones with a clear focus on sound quality and everyday quality of life.
There’s an ease of use that seems to have been forgotten in recent years, as brands chase the needs of eSports professionals without considering the budgets of their everyday fans.
Razer Barracuda X review
Don’t be fooled by that easy USB-C wireless connection, super comfortable earcups, and impressive directional audio – this is still a particularly affordable piece of kit. In fact, one of the most compelling aspects of the Razer Barracuda X’s prowess in the Nintendo Switch accessories arena is its value for money. You’re getting some pretty powerful audio here – all for under $100 / £100.
We tested the Barracuda X across consoles, and were pleased to find a nicely balanced sound profile, with some excellent detailing in the mid-ranges and the power to blast when the time was right. That’s because the bass is slightly emphasized here, but in an appreciate-your-shotgun-boom way, rather than the growling fuzz we usually hear in headsets in this price range. It’s also one of the most comfortable headsets we’ve had the pleasure of sinking some longer sessions into; never pinching the ear thanks to that thicker padding, and keeping temperatures low all at the same time.
Because of that no-nonsense design, the Razer Barracuda X is perfectly tuned to use with the Nintendo Switch. There’s a solid battery life here (we generally only need to charge once a week), you’re not spending too much to worry about taking these cups out and about with you, and that USB-C wireless connection slots straight into the console’s form factor as well.

The best wired Nintendo Switch headset

If you want the right balance between price and performance for your Nintendo Switch, look no further than the HyperX Cloud Alpha (opens in new tab). We fell in love with the minimalist aesthetic when we first got our hands on this classic headset, and the design improvements since those days have only improved things.
You’re getting a headset that simply works and offers one thing you often don’t see on cheaper headsets – quality
HyperX Cloud Alpha review
There’s an air of class surrounding the red accents, embroidered logo, and heavy stitching around the plush leatherette that stood out here. There’s no need for glaring RGB here, these cups are naturally beautiful.
Sliding them on, though, and the real value for money becomes evident. We noted a particularly strong frequency response range in our testing, making for particularly rich sound quality. With a solid bass and crystal clear mids, the Cloud Alpha performs well whether you’re diving into a Doom session or leaping across some Super Mario stages.
HyperX does tout ‘Dual Chamber Drivers’ in its marketing, which supposedly work to keep your audio distortion-free and clear up your soundstage. In truth, we didn’t notice too much going on behind the scenes here, though did appreciate the naturally clear balancing.
You won’t be paying over the odds here, either. You can pick up a HyperX Cloud Alpha for less than $80 / £70, and it’s a great pair of cans – easily one of the best Nintendo Switch accessories out there.

The best budget earbuds for the Nintendo Switch

The Roccat Syn Buds Core are the perfect travel companion for your Nintendo Switch. Cheap enough not to worry about too much, and without the curses of batteries and Bluetooth connections to hold you back, the Syn Buds Core excel in their simplicity.
The Roccat Syn Buds Core are a solid everyday driver to keep in your carry case
Roccat Syn Buds Core review
Sure, they’re going to struggle to hold their own against more premium models, and certainly can’t offer the all encompassing soundstage of an over-ear set of headphones, but keeping these ready to go is going to be much handier than you might think. Of course, during our initial testing period we were using these buds as a daily driver, but since then they have held pride of place in our carry case and are regularly brought into action.
We were particularly impressed by the comfortable design. After being raised on hard plastic earbuds (and the friction injuries they cause after longer sessions), it was surprising not to feel any fatigue even after hours of use. It was also easy to acclimatise to the feel and balance here as well.
Super Mario Sunshine’s harmonic melodies rang out particularly well through these 10mm drivers, with smaller soundscapes offering the Roccat Syn Buds Core a real chance to show their detailing and mid-ranges. However, more complex stages like that of Doom did cause some distortion.
Still, that $24.99 / £24.99 price point means they’re easy enough to grab and keep as a backup, even if they don’t become your go-to.

The best Nintendo Switch accessory for Mario fans
What’s in the box: 1x Mario RC car with AR camera, 1x Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit download, track markers
+Bags of content+Great price point+Endless replayability
-AI sometimes doesn’t play by the rules-Multiplayer will cost you
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit launched just in time for the holidays of 2020, but stocking issues meant that it didn’t really get its engines going until mid-2021. That said, there’s plenty to dig into here, and this is a particularly strong Nintendo Switch accessory for anyone who’s already got their money’s worth out of Mario Kart 8: Deluxe.
Place the included Mario or Luigi RC car down in your home, and install the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit software to watch your home turn into its own racetrack. You’ll be controlling your real-life cart around a course you create with the cardboard track markers and playing against AI competitors using the same space as well – all on the screen of your Nintendo Switch.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is everything we hoped it could be, with a few caveats, and it’s easy to wonder why it hadn’t been done sooner.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
We took Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit out for a spin when it first launched, and it’s remain a firm party piece ever since. In our testing, we were a little frustrated to find instances where AI would sometimes fly through the physical obstacles you’d set out to create a track, sometimes ignoring the layout completely. We only encountered this issue with any regularity in race mode, though, and firmly believe that pass and play time trials are the best way to play.
All the cardboard race parts feel well produced, and continue to survive plenty of crashes to this day. However, we would recommend playing on a hard floor in plenty of light; carpets cause considerable judder under these smaller wheels, and dim lights will cut your video quality considerably.

If Wii Fit taught us anything, it’s that Nintendo likes to get us moving. Ring Fit Adventure feels like what those early fitness games should have been all along – fun and engaging, while making working out a celebrated core mechanic that actually feels like it’s worth doing. You’ll be travelling through a gorgeous world, sprinting, crunching, and squatting your way through platforming levels and boss battles throughout your quest. Not only is it incredibly enjoyable, but it also provides a solid workout to boot. Plus, the Ring Fit Adventure price has been steadily falling over the last few months as well.

The best Nintendo Switch charger
Cable length: 6ftWeight: 173gDimensions: 66 x 51 x 36 mmOutput: 39W USB-C
+Exactly the same as the original plug+Official Nintendo product+Reliable
-Pricey
In a twist that’ll surprise no-one, the best Nintendo Switch charger is the official AC Adapter. Having been built specifically for the console, it’s easily the most reliable version. And if you’ve lost or broken the original and want a replacement, why not just get the same thing?
That’s why it’s so appealing. You know what you’re getting, and you know what to expect. Yes, it might be a bit more expensive than cheaper, third-party alternatives. But the official AC Adapter is a ticket to peace of mind.

The best third party charger and dock
Cable length: 1.8mWeight: 100gDimensions: 60 x 33 x 44 mmOutput: 30W USB-C
+Incredibly convenient+International adapters included+No safety concerns
-30W charging doesn’t compete with other adapters
The Genki Covert Dock is a revelation. Not only are you getting a wall adapter to plug your Switch in (as well as the USB-C cable), but this device is primarily designed to offer a portable third party dock for on the go play. At the time of writing, we’ve been using the Covert Dock for months and have no concerns over the safety to our console. In fact, this is the best Nintendo Switch accessory in our arsenal right now.
While that $74.99 / £84.99 price is a little lofty, it’s fully justified if you’re after a travelling companion or a slightly cheaper dock alternative.
Genki Covert Dock review
The Covert Dock never presented us with any visual stuttering or power drops during testing, though we did note the 30W charging capacity was considerably lower than other, sometimes cheaper, competitors. That means it’s not quite an all-in-one solution for keeping your phone and laptop topped up on the go at the same time, but it’s certainly better than slinging a whole official dock into your backpack.
Simply hook an HDMI cable up to your TV (we tested and were satisfied with cables of up to 8m), connect your Switch via the included USB-C cable and you’re good to go. Setup was a straight plug and play affair across all our travels.
The adapter design of the Covert Dock itself means you won’t be slotting this neatly into a standard clamshell case, but it will still tuck itself into any corner of a backpack particularly well. Plus, it’s good to know that you’re also getting three international outlet adapters in the box as well – for UK, US, EU and Australian outlet types. Just remember, the Genki Covert Dock won’t work for the Nintendo Switch Lite.

The best portable Nintendo Switch charger

+Charges phones, tablets, and more+Multiple ports+Faster charging
-Expensive
If you’re rocking an older Nintendo Switch, a portable charger is one of the most essential Nintendo Switch accessories out there. We’d say the best portable charger you can get for Switch would be the Anker PowerCore 26800mAH. Besides being able to quickly charge your console, it’s also small enough to be very portable.
As an official Anker product, you know you’re getting good-quality tech right away. It’ll give you extra hours of play when you’re on the move, and it can charge other devices (like your phone) as well. That’s makes it even better value for money, and a must-have for all Switch owners.

Weight: 149gDimensions: 165 x 88 x 151 mmCapacity: 4 Joy-Con
+Speedy charging+Can charge via dock +Capacity for four Joy-Con
-Need to plug into wall for best results
If you’ve got more Joy-Con than consoles (and with all the color choice, who doesn’t), then you might have a hard time keeping them all ready and juiced up before a big Mario Kart tournament. The Hori Joy-Con Charge Stand can keep up to four of your gamepads charging at once – perfect for keeping all your dinky controllers ready to go.
Not only is it a handy Nintendo Switch accessory in its own right, but you can also plug this model directly into your Switch dock to keep those cables down. However, we’d recommend finding a wall outlet if you’re looking for a particularly speedy charge. LEDs will let you know the status of your controller batteries, and each controller slots neatly in with a rail system similar to that of the console itself.

The best screen protector for Nintendo Switch
Thickness: 0.33mmRating: 9HNumber in pack: 2
+Oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprints+Easy to apply+Rounded edges
-More expensive than budget products
If you’re after long-lasting protection (and a couple of attempts to achieve it) the Spigen tempered glass Nintendo Switch screen protector is one of the best options on the market. You’re getting two panels here, so you’ve always got another spare and a second chance to apply it correctly.
At 9H hardness, you’ll be protecting your screen from scratches, bumps, and scrapes while also still being able to see your screen in full brightness and clarity. That’s something you don’t tend to get from cheaper screen protectors, so it’s worth shelling out just a little extra for this Spigen model.
It’s worth noting, though, that this is only compatible with the full Nintendo Switch.

The best screen protector for Nintendo Switch Lite
Thickness: 0.33mmRating: 9HNumber in pack: 3
+99.9% transparency +Oloeophobic coating
-No anti-glare
If you’re after a screen protector for your Nintendo Switch Lite, amFilm might be the brand for you. You’re getting three tempered glass sheets in here, with each one promising to be 99.9% transparent. That means you’ll still be able to see all your games clear and bright but be safe in the knowledge that that 9H hardness rating is keeping your display safe and secure.
At 0.3mm thin this is one of the skinnier models on the shelves, which means you’re still getting full touchscreen sensitivity too.

]]>The post Save $30 on this Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch bundle at Dell appeared first on Game News.
]]>We don’t often see too many Nintendo Switch bundles on US shelves these days, aside from smaller discounts on memory cards at Amazon. That makes this Animal Crossing-themed offer all the more impressive, especially if you’re after everything you need to get started from day one.
For reference, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game itself still regularly sells at its $59.99 MSRP, only ever dropping down to $51 outside of larger sales events. In fact, taking the $15 cost of the case into account, you’re actually getting the lowest price we’ve seen on this particular title. Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals only dropped that cost down to $49.99 in November, $20 more than the $30 price point we’re technically seeing today.
You’ll find more information on this offer just below, and plenty more Nintendo Switch deals further down the page as well.
Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition | Animal Crossing: New Horizons | carry case | $344.99 at Dell (opens in new tab)
Dell says you’re saving $40 here, but it’s more like $30 with the Animal Crossing game coming in at $59.99 and the carry case available for $15 by itself. Still, that’s an excellent offer, considering we don’t usually see Nintendo Switch bundles offering this much gear for a discounted rate.
If you’re not a fan of the Animal Crossing special edition, or you’re just interested in Nintendo Switch OLED stock, you’ll find plenty more Nintendo Switch deals on consoles and games just below.
We’re also rounding up plenty of cheap Nintendo Switch game sales, and all the best Nintendo Switch accessories to boot. Or, if you’re playing the long game, we’re also getting you prepped for this year’s Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals as well.

]]>The post Hurry – the Nintendo Switch OLED is $15 off at Walmart right now appeared first on Game News.
]]>This is the first time we’ve seen a major retailer offering up Nintendo Switch OLED deals of this caliber. The only other time we’ve seen cold hard cash shaved off that final price was during a one-day sale at Woot. We don’t know how long this offer will hold out, and we’re willing to bet it’s not long – considering we were scrambling for Nintendo Switch OLED stock just a month ago. We’ve seen the latest console holding its own on the shelves for a few weeks now, but even we didn’t expect to see savings this early after the supply troubles.
That means the value of this offer can’t be overstated, especially considering the standard edition Nintendo Switch doesn’t see savings like this even during Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals.
You’ll find more information on this offer just below, and plenty more Nintendo Switch deals further down the page.
Nintendo Switch OLED | $349.99 $335 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
Save $15 – You’ll have to be quick to snap this one up, but Walmart currently has the Nintendo Switch OLED down to just $335. Price cuts like this are almost unheard of – the Nintendo Switch family of consoles are incredibly stubborn against discounts, or even bundles in the US. That means we wouldn’t let this deal pass you by if you’ve been on the hunt for a new device.
If you’re after Nintendo Switch deals on the standard (cheaper) console, you’ll find plenty more offers just below
If you’re lucky enough to snap up this discounted rate, you’ll need some extra toys to play with. You’ll find all the lowest prices on the best Nintendo Switch accessories in the comparison chart below.
Of course, we’re also rounding up all the best Nintendo Switch Lite deals if you’re after something even cheaper. Or, take a look at the best Nintendo Switch memory cards, Nintendo Switch controllers, and the best Nintendo Switch cases for more gadget inspiration.

]]>The post Nintendo Switch Pro: Everything we know about Nintendo’s rumored console appeared first on Game News.
]]>With the Switch now surpassing the success of the Wii in sales figures and the console being in the middle of its life cycle, another updated model isn’t entirely out of the question. We may still see another version of Switch. It’s certainly easy to imagine how well a Switch Pro would sell. While we wait to see what the future holds and if we do ever get official confirmation, we’ve gathered together everything we know so far about the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro.
The Nintendo Switch Pro was the name being used to describe the rumored mid-lifecycle console refresh for the Nintendo Switch. While we now know the Switch OLED seems to have filled that slot, there were rumors initially pointing towards a Nintendo Switch Pro with different specs:

Rumors started circulating about the Nintendo Switch Pro back in early 2019. The Wall Street Journal (opens in new tab) reported on the matter citing “parts suppliers and software developers for Nintendo” in March 2019, saying that the company was working on two new Switch models. The first was a “cheaper option for casual gamers”, which sounds very much like the Switch Lite we saw that same year, but the other outlined a more powerful, full HD Switch model aimed at the more hardcore market. And the gossip hasn’t stopped since.
Recent rumors included a Wcctech report (opens in new tab) where a dataminer found signs of this in the Switch’s firmware code. “The tablet itself definitely has an upgraded display,” dataminer SciresM mentions, adding that the new hardware is codenamed Aula. “I don’t know if it’s 4K. Aula has firmware support, some Realtek chip that advertises itself as a ‘4K UHD multimedia SoC’ too, hence my belief it’s 4K.”
As the dataminer clarifies afterward, it’s unsure whether this is related to the console’s chip or the dock itself. It would make more sense to see this in the dock itself, such as how the Switch currently supports resolutions higher than its native 720p HD display when docked compared to handheld mode, but there’s no certainty for the time being.
Back in August 2020, Bloomberg (opens in new tab) claimed that Nintendo was investigating a new Switch model that has not only 4K “high-definition graphics” but also more computing power. But it was in October when a report from Economic Daily News (opens in new tab) hinted that the Nintendo Switch Pro could feature Mini-LED technology, manufactured by Innolux Corporation. As well as reflecting the push towards higher resolutions, it could also lead to increased battery life, as well as improvements in the screen’s brightness and contrast, compared to the current LCD display.
In March 2021, Bloomberg (opens in new tab)reported that we could see a new 4K Switch with an OLED screen sometime before the holidays. Apparently, Nintendo called on the Samsung Display Co. to produce seven-inch, 720p-resolution OLED panels in preparation for a Christmas launch. With four years since the launch of the original, the timing feels right for an upgrade.
In May of 2021, a listing for “New Nintendo Switch Pro” reportedly popped up on Amazon Mexico, but we’ve seen retailers jump the gun with placeholder listings before. More exciting is the news from earlier this month, via the vast rumor mills of Twitter, that we will see the new Nintendo Switch Pro at E3, and we’ll be able to pre-order it too. Of course, this then turned out to be the Nintendo Switch OLED model.

So far, there haven’t been any official indications that Nintendo is ready to go next-gen, or indeed launch any kind of Nintendo Switch Pro just yet.
However, in a Polygon interview (opens in new tab) back in December, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser talked about how the company is always looking at technology, how it evolves and changes over time, from which upon they can start asking themselves how they can enhance and improve the gameplay experience. “And whether that’s on a current platform,” Bowser adds, “or whether that’s on a future platform, we’re always looking at that.” But he also calls the momentum on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite fourth year “strong”, and mentions that they will “continue, for the foreseeable future, to really lean into both of those platforms and the content that comes with it.”
If the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS have shown anything in the past, we can expect to see even more iterations of Nintendo’s hybrid console.

]]>Nintendo Switch bundles in the US rarely drop below the $299 MSRP of the console, but you can pick up a standard edition device, 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online, and a carry case for just $295 at Walmart (opens in new tab) right now. That’s a stunning offer, comparable to the rare Black Friday bundles that fly off the shelves in November. It’s also worth noting if you’re after the new version, however, that Amazon and Walmart also have Nintendo Switch OLED stock live for the standard $349.99 (opens in new tab).
Over in the UK, Nintendo Switch deals have shaved £5 off the price of the new OLED model (now down to £304.99 at Very (opens in new tab)). This discount has been around for a few weeks now, but with Amazon running out of stock we’re not sure how long it will last.
The real winner, though, is this £319.99 Pokemon Legends: Arceus bundle at Currys (opens in new tab). That’s an incredible price (just £10 more than the console by itself) on an OLED console, the latest Pokemon release, and a 256GB memory card – the best Nintendo Switch bundle we’ve seen in the UK so far.
You’ll find all these Nintendo Switch deals just below, but we’re rounding up plenty more prices further down the page.
Nintendo Switch OLED | $349.99 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
The Nintendo Switch OLED is in stock right now at Amazon and Walmart (opens in new tab), and this drop has held out for a few days now. We don’t know how much longer those consoles will last as these restocks often come in waves, so we’d recommend heading over soon.

Nintendo Switch | 12 month Nintendo Switch Online | carrying case | $295 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
This is the best Nintendo Switch bundle we’ve seen all year – packing the console itself, 12 months of Nintendo Switch online and a carry case, all under the usual $299 MSRP. That’s excellent value and certainly not an offer you want to miss.
Nintendo Switch OLED | Pokemon Legends: Arceus | 256GB memory card | £319 at Currys (opens in new tab)
This is the best Nintendo Switch OLED bundle we’ve seen all year – you’re picking up the newly released Pokemon Legends: Arceus and a 256GB memory card for just £10 more than the standard price of the console by itself. That’s excellent value considering other bundles are currently sitting at around £349.

Nintendo Switch | 12 months Nintendo Switch Online | £246.62 at Amazon (opens in new tab)
This Nintendo Switch deal at Amazon offers up 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online (worth £17.99) with a console, all for £15 less than the price of the device by itself. That’s a particularly rare offer, so we wouldn’t wait for this one to leap off the shelves if you’re not interested in an OLED display.

Nintendo Switch OLED | £309 £304.99 at Very (opens in new tab)
Save £5 – Amazon has run out of stock of the Nintendo Switch OLED at this reduced £304.99 price point, but Very is picking up the slack this week. We’ve seen this price hanging around over the last few weeks, but with Amazon’s supplies running low it might not be available much longer.

]]>The post 14 essential Nintendo Switch setup tips and tricks you need to know appeared first on Game News.
]]>We’ve put together a whole range of Nintendo Switch setup tips and tricks to cover all the bases and make sure you’re ready to game at maximum capacity almost immediately after opening it, with quality of life improvements that’ll make the best of the experience and keep it as good as possible, to get that Switch set up just right.

The Home button is a handy way to get out of whatever you’re doing on your Nintendo Switch, and get back to the Home screen if you want to do anything else. However, if you hold the button down you can access a Quick Menu with a few useful options without going anywhere. Namely, these:

While Sleep Mode is handy for shutting down your Nintendo Switch for short durations, the battery is still getting drained. Leave it in Sleep Mode for too long and you can find yourself without enough juice to play next time you pick it up. If you’re going to leave it alone for a while hold down the power button until a menu appears where you can select the Power Options and choose Power Off to completely shut your console down and save battery during.

When you go to turn on your Switch you’ll have to press A, then the same button three times to open it. Most of the buttons just click, bu there are four that make some funnier noises:

The default battery indicator gives you a rough idea of what’s left but it’s not hugely accurate. It’ll go red when you’re dangerously close to running out but otherwise it’s too small to really tell how long you have. If you go into System Settings, then System, you’ll see the option to turn Console Battery (%) on, which will tell you exactly how much power you have left.

There are a few tricks you can use to stretch out your battery life if you’re planning to have a long stretch between charges. Just head to System Settings and change the following:
It’s also an idea, as previously mentioned, to completely power down the console when you’re not using it.

No matter how careful you are, you will be caught short by running out of power at some point. Which is where a battery or charger pack will come in useful to top things up. There are loads of options so check out our list of the best Nintendo Switch chargers to help you pick one that’s best for you.

If you go to your account page (the one with your name and face) you’ll find User Settings, in here you’ll find the Album option and Social Network Posting Settings. From here you can link your Switch to your Facebook and Twitter accounts and share screenshots and videos directly from the console.

There are multiple ways to add some Switch friends to your console. From your account page (the one with your face and name) you’ll see two options: Friend Suggestions and Add Friend.
Friend Suggestions will show potential friends you might already be connected to via Nintendo mobile games, Facebook, Twitter, 3DS and Wii. Add Friends, on the other hand, will let you input Friend Codes, search for local users and people you’ve played with, as well as check any requests you’ve sent and received.

If you do manage to misplace a Joy-Con and can’t find it, head to the Controllers option on the home screen where you’ll find a Search for Controllers option. This will let you remotely trigger vibration in the missing pad and hopefully make its location obvious.

You’ll need to pay for Nintendo Switch Online if you want to play online games with anyone, or use most games with online components. But, while you can get Nintendo Switch Online cheap (opens in new tab), check if you really need it. Apart from online play with your friends the other benefits include cloud saves (with most but not all games), access to a range of classic NES & Super NES games, rewards, and the ability to use the Switch Smartphone app for voice chat.

You can have more than one user on a Switch, with each account able to buy and play games. If the one user has the Switch designated as their primary (which is usually the case if you only have one) then other users can play the games they download.

Holding down the Power Button will open up a menu where you can put the console to sleep or open up the Power Options. From here you can Restart the console should it lock up or crash in anyway that a reset might fix.

Just head into the System Settings and look for Themes in the menu. There you’ll find Basic Black and Basic White options for the overall theme of your Switch. Obviously the Basic Black option is a little more subdued and better suited for night times.

In System Settings you’ll find an option called Data Management. This will show you how much space you’ve used on the control and what you have free. You can use it to check and delete screens and videos that might take up space, as well as Quick Archive games. This will show you anything you haven’t played for a while and let you choose whether or not to delete them from the console. That will keep an icon for the game on your console and keep your save data but offload everything else.

After Love EP, coming summer 2022
This sidescrolling, musical RPG set in Jakarta puts you in the role of a young person who is dealing with the grief of their girlfriend’s recent death. With her voice still playing in your head, you’ll choose how to move on and keep performing alongside your bandmates via rhythm game segments.
Dungeon Munchies, out today
This 2D platformer challenges the long-held belief that zombies can’t cook. You play as an undead servant of the necrochef Simmer, roving around an underground complex full of monsters – and those monsters are full of ingredients.
Figment 2: Creed Valley, coming February 2022
This top-down adventure puts a musical twist on combat encounters as well as puzzles, and you can play it on your own or in local co-op. A free demo headed to Switch today will let you try it out yourself.
Let’s Play! Oink Games, out today
This collection of fun and quirky tabletop titles from Oink Games lets you take on classics such as A Fake Artist Goes to New York and Startups on your Switch. Play with friends locally on one system, or create an online multiplayer room for distant competitions.
Endling: Extinction is Forever, coming spring 2022
You are the last mother fox in a world ruined by climate change, and the way you play will determine whether your three cubs survive. Your ultimate goal? Reaching the one place left on Earth where humans can’t hurt you.
OlliOlli World, coming February 8, 2022
The next chapter in the sidescrolling skater franchise blows the whole thing wide open with colorful 3D visuals, multiple paths through levels, and a skateboarding wizard. Pre-orders open today, and you’ll get some special in-game rewards for early patronage.
River City Girls 2, coming summer 2022
The modernized beat-em-up action returns with more characters to play, new moves to learn, and a bigger city to explore. Take on all of River City on your own or in two-player co-op either locally or via online play.
Omori, coming spring 2022
After creating a massive impact with its arrival on PC last year, the warm yet foreboding story of Omori is headed to Switch. Nintendo warns that this one goes into some “heavy topics,” but at least you’ll have your friends to keep you company.
Near the end of Indie Direct, Nintendo also rolled out a quick-hit mashup of even more games that are coming soon or out right now.
Between this and our existing list of upcoming Switch games, we have plenty to look forward to.

]]>The post Nintendo Switch OLED vs Nintendo Switch vs Nintendo Switch Lite: which console should you buy this Black Friday? appeared first on Game News.
]]>Because many of us will be hoping to put one of these consoles under the Christmas tree this Holiday season, getting to the bottom of the Nintendo Switch OLED vs Nintendo Switch vs Nintendo Switch Lite kerfuffle before Black Friday isn’t a bad idea. Let’s break it down, shall we?

The best Nintendo Switch for most people
Price: $299 / £259Uses: TV or handheld modeResolution: 1080p (TV) / 720p (handheld)Controllers: Detachable
+Can be used on TV and in handheld mode+Great for big-screen multiplayer+Middle-of-the-road price
-Screen isn’t as nice as the OLED
The ‘standard’ Nintendo Switch will be the best fit for the majority of people. Besides being somewhere in the middle in terms of price, it’s enjoys the best of all worlds – it can be connected to the TV for big-screen action or taken on the go in handheld mode.
Because playing on your TV is perfect for multiplayer sessions, this version of the console is the best all-rounder for families this Holiday season. It’s also the most versatile. Namely, the Lite seen below can only be used in handheld mode.

The best Nintendo Switch for kids or those on a budget
Price: $199 / £199Uses: Handheld mode onlyResolution: 720pControllers: Built-in
+More affordable+Sturdier design
-Handheld mode only-Not great for local multiplayer
This cheaper, smaller version of the Switch is ideal if you just want to dabble in Nintendo’s game library without breaking the bank, or if you’re looking for a console that’ll suit your kids. Sturdier than its counterparts and featuring built-in controllers, this console is perfect for taking with you when out and about.
However, note that it can’t connect to the TV and can only be used in handheld mode. This means it’s not great for local multiplayer sessions; crowding around its little display for split-screen action isn’t much fun.

The best Nintendo Switch for handheld play
Price: $349 / £309Uses: TV or handheld modeResolution: 1080p (TV) / 720p (handheld)Controllers: Detachable
+Gorgeous screen+Excellent in handheld mode+Small quality-of-life changes
-Not a huge upgrade
Hoping to clock some hours playing in handheld mode? The new Switch OLED will be your jam. While it isn’t the 4K Nintendo Switch Pro we were originally hoping for (and it doesn’t offer much of a reason to upgrade from older models, as discussed in our Nintendo Switch OLED review), it does have a new and improved screen that features a gorgeous OLED display for brighter, more vibrant color. The console itself also has an improved kickstand, so it’s ideal if you want to play in tabletop mode as well.
Happily, it’ll connect to your TV too. This allows you to get in on some split-screen multiplayer gaming, adding to the OLED’s versatility. Speaking of which, small quality-of-life improvements such as an Ethernet port on the dock (ideal for those looking to play online multiplayer more reliably) have been added.

]]>In a recent presentation (opens in new tab) to investors, the company outlined its ‘future outlook’, stating that “Nintendo plans to continue to expand its business around the core concept of creating unique integrated hardware software products.” A simple timeline outlines previous attempts, from the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii in 2004 and 2006, to the Nintendo Switch in 2017.
The timeline continues after that, but provides little more to go on. A single question mark fills the space where the company’s “next gaming system” would appear on the slide, with the attached date reading just ’20XX’. That means that Nintendo’s happy to commit to new hardware on or before December 31, 2099, but doesn’t necessarily want you to think it’ll arrive this decade.
This isn’t the first time this particular slide has been shared, but Nintendo’s apparent desire to keep its hardware plans hidden is becoming increasingly strange the older the Switch gets. Nintendo does appear to have moved away from the generational approach set by Microsoft and Sony, but while Switch sales remain relatively strong, the console is starting to lose ground to the PS5.
With the Nintendo Switch OLED already available and rumours around a Nintendo Switch Pro continuing to swirl, it’s probably only a matter of time until Nintendo unveils its next console, but until now, it looks like we’re just going to have to wait.
While you’re waiting, here’s our list of the best Switch games.
