The post All Genshin Impact Conch locations in the 2.8 Archipelago appeared first on Game News.
]]>This may sound a little confusing, but the Phantasmal Conches (including both Imaging and Echoing Conches) are part of the Resonating Visions event, which takes place in the time-limited Golden Apple Archipelago region. There are 20 Conches in total, but only 14 of them are currently available. We’ll update this guide as soon as the remaining Conch locations are unlocked.

Let’s talk rewards first, shall we? If you find at least 14 Conch locations, you’ll be rewarded with a new outfit for Fischl. This reward can be collected in the Resonating Visions event menu. Don’t forget to claim the other goodies as well: Talent Level-Up Materials, Character Level-Up Materials, Weapon Enhancement Materials, a lot of Mora, and a total of 320 Primogems.
It takes 20 Phantasmal Conches to collect the full reward, but only 16 to claim both the Fischl outfit and Primogems.

Genshin Impact Conches look like… well, normal conches. However, they do give off a faint glow. It’s either blue (Echoing Conches) or purple/orange (Imaging Conches). Most importantly, a white Conch icon will pop up on the mini map as soon as you get close enough.
Every Conch has a unique name. If you want to check which Conches you’re missing, open the “Sojourner’s Song” and “The Photographer’s Words” tabs in the Resonating Visions event menu. Whether the Conch is an Echoing or an Imaging One, doesn’t really matter.

We’ll start with the Conch locations on Broken Isle, the upper left part of the Golden Apple Archipelago map. This map also includes the central island (location 5). All of these locations are at sea level, so no need for climbing.

Twinning Isle is situated in the upper right corner of the map. Here are the Conch locations:

To find Minacious Isle, go to the lower left corner of the map.

Pudding Isle is in the lower right corner of the Golden Apple Archipelago map.
That’s every Genshin Impact Imaging and Echoing Conch location for now. Stay tuned for the map update!

]]>The post Destiny 2 players are struggling with inflation even after a massive Legendary Shard dupe appeared first on Game News.
]]>This sentiment has been simmering in the Destiny community for several seasons, and a recent Reddit post (opens in new tab) from self-described “working class Guardian” Dinoben43 has become a sort of water cooler discussion for players to air their complaints.
Dinoben’s argument is simple: “The legendary shard inflation is out of control. The price to focus has consistently increased but the rate of acquisition has not kept up.” Anecdotally, I’ve heard similar sentiments from multiple Destiny clanmates, especially this season, and it’s clear from the replies to this Reddit post, as well as its popularity, that it’s not an uncommon feeling.
Legendary Shards have become increasingly essential to Destiny 2’s loot system, with new traits, Origin perks, as well as craftable weapon patterns driving the desire to roll multiple versions of the latest guns. Focusing Legendary engrams has given players a path to more definitive drops, but it’s also raised the price of each gun considerably in some cases.
For reference, you can focus this season’s guns at the HELM for 50 shards a pop, which really isn’t half bad, especially since the seasonal activity spits them out pretty regularly. Meanwhile, focusing a Trials of Osiris weapons will run you 100, and a single roll of the coveted Adept versions of Trials weapons will cost you an eye-watering 250 shards. With the seasonal boost unlocked, you get four Legendary Shards each time you dismantle a piece of gear, and that’s still the primary way to get them, so you can see how quickly these expenses add up.
If players are getting Legendary Shards any other way, it’s usually through an exploit like the recently patched shard dupe which allowed some players to rack up tens or even hundreds of thousands of the things in just hours. Interestingly, the fallout from that dupe seems to have driven some of this inflation talk as players watch their once-towering shard reserves dwindle after just a weekend of focusing. Even with functionally infinite shards, they go by quick.
There’s no great way to specifically farm Legendary Shards; you just kind of earn them passively while playing the game. There’s a logical argument to be made that unlocking guns faster should require playing the game more, but there’s also no denying that the math behind dismantling gear and focusing an engram can be depressing. It’s unclear if Bungie will ever “raise the minimum Legendary Shard wage,” as Dinoben43 puts it, but it’s safe to say other working class Guardians would appreciate it.
We recently spoke to Bungie about the Season of the Haunted, and making Destiny 2 harder, scarier, and building more end-game.

]]>Bungie posted an updated statement (opens in new tab) on its support for “essential healthcare rights” shortly after the court’s decision was announced, following up on a pro-choice commitment which it shared following the previously leaked court opinion which predicted today’s decision.
“The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade cuts off millions of Americans from that access and leaves open the possibility of even further restrictions on life-saving healthcare for all of us,” Bungie says.
“As we continue to expand our digital-first workplace to more states, we will now be implementing a travel reimbursement program for any employee to use when they or a dependent cannot get access to the healthcare they need where they live,” addressing the studio’s remote work plan, which was recently expanded to more states.
“We remain undeterred in our commitment to stand up for reproductive choice and liberty,” the statement concludes, pointing readers to an updated list of healthcare and abortion non-profits and charities.
Bungie’s material support for employees and their families is a standout in the reactions of game developers to the court’s decision, but many studios have made their stance clear.

Multiple companies both in and out of games, including Netflix, Sony, Warner Bros, and Disney, have also reportedly pledged (opens in new tab) to cover healthcare-related travel expenses in a similar fashion.
As Bungie becomes part of Sony’s stable of studios, the Destiny 2 dev says “there will never be a ‘muzzle’ big enough to stop us” from speaking out on human rights.

]]>
Adept mods are powerful weapon mods with varying effects, but they’re generally a bit like masterworks, offering a significant boost to a particular weapon stat. Other Adept mods act as a superior replacement to existing mods, making them very desirable. Most Adept mods can also be used on all weapons, but there are a few that are exclusive to specific weapon types.
The caveat to these mods is that they can only be equipped on Adept Legendary weapons which are available from just a few sources. If you want to know about a particular mod, pick from the list below to jump to the relevant section:

You can get Adept mods in Destiny 2 by:
Trials of Osiris, Grandmaster Nightfalls, and Master Vault of Glass encounters also give you the chance of getting Adept Legendary weapons, which are slightly improved versions of Legendary weapons and are denoted by the “(Adept)” in their names – Vault of Glass Raid weapons which have “(Timelost)” instead.

Note that any of the following Adept mods can drop from these activities, except for Adept Icarus Grip, which can only drop from the Lighthouse Flawless chest in Trials of Osiris. You can see which Adept mods you have and which ones you’re missing by looking at your Collections tab, opening the Mods section, and then navigating to the weapon mod table. To equip an Adept mod, inspect an Adept weapon and choose an Adept mod from the list that appears when you hover the cursor over the weapon mod slot.

]]>The post Zenless Zone Zero story, gameplay, the Hollows and more explained appeared first on Game News.
]]>Are you ready to meet the first Zenless Zone Zero characters? Let’s dive into that other-dimensional Hollow and explore everything we know so far.

Zenless Zone Zero was announced on May 13. As recruitment for the first closed beta started on that day as well, it’s expected to begin somewhere in June.
We don’t have an official Zenless Zone Zero release date yet, and we probably shouldn’t expect it for at least another year. If this game follows a pattern similar to previous HoYoverse games, there will be a second closed beta near the end of the year.

The confirmed platforms for Zenless Zone Zero are PC and iOS. So far, PlayStation and Android haven’t been mentioned. We also don’t know if there will be a cross-save function, but as it’s present in other HoYoverse games, it does seem likely.

In Zenless Zone Zero, you’ll be uncovering the mysteries behind the world known as New Eridu, the last remaining urban civilization. The rest of the world has been destroyed by a supernatural disaster known as the Hollows; gateways that seem to appear out of thin air, giving way to twisted dimensions full of ethereal monsters.
The people of New Eridu managed to survive by extracting resources from the Hollows. Since then, the Hollows have become industrialized and monetized under the city’s administration, leading to rivalry between various companies, gangs, and fanatics. However, to explore the Hollows, you need a professional guide known as a Proxy.
And guess what? You, the player, happens to be one such Proxy. You’ll be teaming up with various groups of explorers, all with their own reasons to enter the disordered dimensions. Once in there, you’ll battle monsters, help your employers to achieve their goals, and learn more about their stories.

One of the most important locations in Zenless Zone Zero is the big city, New Eridu. It’s described as a “colorful metropolis” that is home to disaster refugees and survivors. The city is full of gangs, Hollow Raiders, “crazies”, conspirators…. And Hollows.

Yes, the Hollows are the cause of the apocalypse, but not to worry; in New Eridu, the Hollows are used for industrial purposes. Little other-dimensional money-making machines, basically. The Ether extracted from the Hollows give New Eridu its special magic.
Inside these abnormal spherical dimensions, we’ll find monsters, thugs, Proxies, agencies, Hollow Raiders, and… Well, that sounds like half the city.

As Zenless Zone Zero is an action RPG, it’s similar to Genshin Impact rather than Honkai Impact in terms of gameplay. The game sticks to the anime-style world and characters, but in a futuristic urban setting.
We don’t know if there’s an Elemental system or how large the parties will be, but we will definitely see the return of the character-rotation system. The developer has also disclosed that there will be a roguelike element to the gameplay. The roguelike system is possibly paired to entering the Hollows.
Finally, as the trailer seems to show a brother and sister, we likely get to choose between a male and female protagonist. It’s unclear if Zenless Zone Zero features a ‘lost sibling’ arc similar to Genshin Impact though.

Thanks to the Zenless Zone Zero trailers we’ve seen so far, we know that the playable characters belong to Factions. Here’s an overview of the Factions we spotted:

Ready to meet your future Zenless Zone Zero team? Like Genshin Impact, the game will be full of playable characters. Here are the first four confirmed characters:
And that wraps up everything we know about Genshin-turned-cyberpunk!

Now though, Ameliance will be available via patch 6.15 for Final Fantasy 14 players later this week on June 7, and some of said players are a little too pleased by the news.

“In two days we’re gonna be custom delivering a couple more Leveilleurs,” one Twitter user commented on the news, intimating that they will, in fact, be having carnal relations with Ameliance Leveilleur. “I wish all Forchenault Leveilleur a very I’m stealing your wife,” wrote another similarly deranged Twitter user. Others have been even more creative, as you can see just below, although no less rabid.

This very unsettling situation is probably about to get a whole lot worse in little over 24 hours from now, when Final Fantasy 14 patch 6.15 launches on June 7. Ameliance has been nothing short of absolutely lovely to the Warrior of Light throughout Endwalker, so we’re not quite sure why she’s about to be subjected to wearing 2B’s outfit and maid costumes for the foreseeable future.
These players will probably be having just as good a time as Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida at an Eorzea D&D session, where the veteran developer recently got roped into playing a session for nigh on eight hours.
Here’s why you should be playing Final Fantasy 14 in 2022.

]]>In a tweet, Diablo community lead Adam Fletcher advised squads of demon hunters to coordinate and choose which server to join before starting the game. Once you’ve picked your server, you’ll only be able to play with other people on the same server, and you won’t be able to bring your character over to another server either, so your best Diablo Immortal classes will be stuck wherever they’re born for now.
“Coordinate with friends on where you want to play!” Fletcher said. “There isn’t cross server play with Immortal as each server has their own Immortals / Shadows / Adventurer groups.” Fletcher added that while this will be the case when Diablo Immortal launches on Wednesday, June 2, “maybe that changes in the future.”
RE: Diablo Immortal ServersYes – Coordinate with friends on where you want to play! There isn’t cross server play with Immortal as each server has their own Immortals/Shadows/Adventurer groups.Maybe that changes in the future but for launch you will play solely w/ your serverMay 26, 2022

It’s worth noting that this only applies to Diablo Immortal’s main campaign. Battlegrounds, the game’s dedicated PvP mode, will allow you to play with friends on different servers.
Los Angeles, New York, Santos, London, Paris, Seoul, and Sydney will all be getting dedicated servers – you can see the complete server list in the FAQ section of this page if you want to plan ahead.
If you want to be ready to pillage your way through hell as soon as possible, Diablo Immortal pre-loading is live on PC right now. Mobile players, on the other hand, will need to wait for the exact release time to download the game, but Blizzard has indicated that it might show up on the app store a few hours earlier than anticipated.

]]>The post Marvel MMO from The Matrix Online devs has been cancelled appeared first on Game News.
]]>Earlier today, EG7 announced (opens in new tab) it would be discontinuing development of a Marvel MMO being worked on by Daybreak Games. The announcement lists “development risk profile, size of investment, and the long-term product portfolio strategy for the group” as major reasons for the cancellation of the MMO.
The company revealed during the announcement that it originally planned to invest more than 500 million Swedish krona (around $50 million) into the Marvel project over the next three years.
Instead of working on the bigger Marvel MMO, EG7 announced it’ll be focusing on smaller projects instead, continuing working on projects like The Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online instead. That’s in addition to original IPs in the works at E7-owned development studios.
Unfortunately, the Marvel MMO by Daybreak Games will now never see the light of day. If you’re unfamiliar with the project, it was only announced relatively recently in November 2021, with genre veteran Jack Emmert heading up development, having previously tackled games like Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online.
In fact, Emmert was revealed to be leading NetEase’s new U.S.-based studio earlier this month. The Chinese company announced it’d be opening its first U.S.-based studio with Emmert at the head to develop PC and console games alike, which perhaps should’ve been an indicator that work on the Marvel MMO at Daybreak Games wasn’t going so well.

]]>The post How to beat the Destiny 2 Defenses Down Exhibition challenge appeared first on Game News.
]]>Raid challenges rotate each week, and there’s one for all four of the main Vow of the Disciple encounters. Check out our guides for the others if you need them help:

For this challenge, no player in the Raid team can kill more than one Taken Knight using the laser relic. While the Exhibition encounter normally involves swapping three relics a lot, this challenge requires you to swap the laser relic a lot more than usual to ensure everyone gets a chance to use it.
You’ll find a total of seven Taken Knights, in this encounter – one in the first room and two in the other three – but only six players. Therefore, your team must miss one of these Knights and ensure that each player kills only one Knight. We recommend that you skip the second Knight in the second room. Alternatively, you can also kill only one Knight per room, meaning only four players need to use the laser, but this strategy will add far more time pressure to the encounter since the Knights extend the Terminal Resonance timer when killed.
If a player kills more than one Knight, your team will fail the challenge and you’ll have to wipe to start the Exhibition encounter all over to try again. Sometimes the Knights can also be a bit buggy and wander off a cliff, particularly in the final room. While this doesn’t appear to cause the challenge to immediately fail, it will mean you won’t be able to get the timer extension.

The Defenses Down challenge can be quite complicated, forcing you to swap relics more often than usual and skipping one of the Taken Knights, however, you’re not actually doing anything differently to complete the encounter. The most important thing is that everyone in the Raid team must be totally clear on what relics they are carrying and in which rooms to avoid unnecessary deaths and wasting time. Here’s a basic rundown of player roles you can use to complete the Defenses Down challenge if you already know how to complete Exhibition normally:
Player 1:
Player 2:
Player 3:
Player 4:
Player 5:
Player 6:
If you need a more detailed breakdown of how to tackle each room, we’ve got that below.

Before getting started, let’s clarify a few names for the relics and their functions. The laser (acorn, nut, Leviathan crystal) is used to kill the Taken Knights, the shield (Vault of Glass/Templar relic) removes the Pervading Darkness debuff from players with its LT/L2 ability, and the blight (Eye of Riven, Taken relic) destroys shielding blights with its LB/L1 ability. After dropping a relic, you will be unable to pick up another one for 30 seconds.
Here’s a complete walkthrough of what you need to do in each room of the Exhibition encounter to complete the challenge:
Room 1:
Room 2:

Room 3:
Room 4:

Assuming everyone sticks to their roles, communicates clearly, and nothing else goes wrong, the Defenses Down challenge should be quite an easy one. The chaos of the Exhibition encounter means a lot can go wrong, but if you do successfully complete it and the challenge, you’ll get an extra chest of Vow of the Disciple loot for your efforts.

]]>The post “Spreadsheet simulator” EVE Online is getting real Microsoft Excel support appeared first on Game News.
]]>Fans have jokingly called EVE Online a “spreadsheet simulator (opens in new tab)” for years because, well, a lot of the MMO involves looking at spreadsheets. In 2020, the game even got a spreadsheets-only mode (opens in new tab), making it easier for you to keep track of massive space battles even when your computer can’t handle rendering all those ships.
As part of the EVE Fanfest today, developer CCP Games announced that a new JavaScript API will allow players to directly export spreadsheet data into Microsoft Excel, which will “help players access and calculate everything from profit margins to battle strategy, making day-to-day EVE operations easier to execute.”
It’s an official partnership with Microsoft, and the devs plan to share more details later this year.
While it might sound like a meme, the announcement drew a strong reaction from the crowd at Fanfest (opens in new tab). CCP says Excel support is “another step toward CCP’s goal of making the MMO more accessible for both casual and seasoned players.” The devs also have plans to modernize EVE, with audio and visual overhauls as well as an improved user interface in the works.
EVE Online is also getting a series of story events called arcs which will provide years-long dynamic stories to expand the game’s NPC empires.
“With arcs, we’re setting EVE up for the next chapter with a steady stream of narrative-driven content that emphasizes player actions and decisions,” creative director Bergur Finnbogason says in a press release. “Veterans of the Triglavian Invasion may recall the fall of Pochven that altered trade routes and supply chains across New Eden – the narratives coming with arcs can have similar effects.”
With or without spreadsheets, EVE Online’s million dollar wars (opens in new tab) are the stuff of legend, even if they don’t always live up to the billing.
