Mighty No. 9 got equipped with console versions today. The Kickstarted spiritual successor to Mega Man from Keiji Inafune’s Comcept studio cleared $2.2 million in pledges, soaring past its most significant stretch goal yet.
The platformer will be at home on PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, on top of its previously announced PC, Mac, and Linux versions. Backers will be able to choose which one they want to digitally receive after the campaign concludes.
Other cleared stretch goals include a New Game Plus mode, a sped-up Turbo Mode, a Boss Rush Mode, and even a Making of Mighty No. 9 video documentary produced by 2 Player Productions, the team behind the Double Fine Adventure documentary.
Mighty No. 9 will blast his way onto PS4 and Xbox One at $3.3 million pledged (3DS and Vita versions are also being considered). With 14 days to go, we wouldn’t count the new blue bomber out of next gen just yet.

UPDATE: Gas Powered Games founder Chris Taylor told Gamasutrahis studio “had to slim WAY down to conserve cash reserves” but is still operating, with its future staked on the success of Wildman. The original story follows.
Gas Powered Games, developer of Dungeon Siege, Supreme Commander, and the nascent kickstarter for Wildman, has implemented significant layoffs. Multiple sources have told Kotaku that “almost everyone at the company has been laid off,” and the studio may be shutting down entirely.
Gas Powered Games’ website says the Redmond, Wash. studio employs more than 60 people. Founder Chris Taylor confirmed that layoffs are taking place, but didn’t address their extent.
“We do have a layoff, and we’ll be updating our Kickstarter as well with details as well very soon,” Taylor said. “I’m way behind, so many wonderful people to talk to and share stories with, so it just takes time. It’s actually been a fairly positive experience, because I run a very open company and everyone knows what’s going on.”
The Wildman Kickstarter has not been updated at this time, and stands just short of $175,000 out of its $1.1 million goal.

]]>The mastermind of the project, Evgeniy Kolpakov, is asking for $45,000 to aid in the completion of nine seperate projects. Most of the games are relatively unknown at this point, however we expect that to change if this project ends up getting funded. At this point that remains a big “if” though.
After several days the fund has raised less than two percent of the total goal, a less-than-encouraging sum. That said, every fund had to start somewhere, so skip on over to the main page (opens in new tab) and see if this is something you’d like to pledge some money toward.
