Fall Guys Season 4 will include the new mode, which pits 15 teams of four against each other in a playlist that includes almost all of the game’s current events. You can either manually make your quartet or find one via matchmaking. Squads Mode will be available for the first two weeks of Fall Guys Season 4 so Mediatonic can get player reactions and feedback and adjust the new mode accordingly.
Squads Mode lets you compete as a four-player team in order to win (and lose) together. A scoring system will be implemented for most of the game types, with the lowest-scoring teams getting the chop at the end of each round. That means, if you’re like me and are trash at Slime Climb and never make it to the finish line, you’ll still get a chance to move onto the next round if one of your teammates can make it far enough to earn some points.
It also means that a Final Round victory will go to the last player standing and their entire squad, which may drastically change the way you play a Final Round. You could technically work towards getting one of your teammates across the finish line and sabotage other players along the way, because a victory for one is a victory for all. It’ll be interesting to see how Squads Mode may change players approaches to these well-known gametypes.
Epic Games now owns Mediatonic, and we’re keeping an eye out to see what changes that will bring to Fall Guys.

]]>The post Fall Guys season 4 release date: Heres when you can start falling through 4041 appeared first on Game News.
]]>A new trailer shared by Mediatonic and Sony confirms that the Fall Guys season 4 release date will land on March 22, a week after it was announced. The trailer follows a solitary Falling Guy as it falls into the anomalous pink goo at the bottom of the stage, then wakes up in the year 4041. Competing endlessly for the crown is still pretty much the whole thing everybody does in 4041, but now there are inverted gravity fields and lasers and stuff. Oh, and it ends with a direct nod to Among Us? We’ll have to wait and see if that’s just a friendly gesture between multiplayer phenomena or if it’s a teaser for something more down the line.
On top of teasing some of the new mechanics coming in the next season (we previously got a good look at the pinball-bumper-styled Flippity Bippities) the trailer also shows off a ton of new costumes presumably coming along with it. Want to cosplay as a robot or an alien? Cool. What kind?
Now that we know when the next season is coming, you still have time to make the most of the current one. Mediatonic has enabled double Fame Points from this point to the beginning of Fall Guys season 4 – make sure you get some games in if you want to collect more seasonal rewards.
Epic Games now owns Mediatonic, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for more cross-franchise collaborations.

Fall Guys Season 4 is taking your favorite sentient jelly beans into the future, according to a teaser posted to the official Fall Guys Twitter account.
And we’re not just talking the near future – Fall Guys Season 4 is going to the year 4041, two thousand and twenty years ahead. From the brief trailer video – which is more GIF than trailer – it’s clear that there will be some ’80s neon vibes during this season. There’s also a rocket, robot, and planet emoji, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we get some sick, new futuristic skins – Pac-Man or Tron tie-in, guys?
We’ve no idea what kind of shows to expect when Fall Guys Season 4 drops, but the retro futuristic theme means we’ll have some slick new visuals that feel like an ’80s arcade game. Fall Guys is putting on a contest to celebrate the announcement of the next season, simply follow and retweet the above tweet and finish the sentence “#FallGuysSeason4 is.” The winner will get 20 crowns each – and there’s 20 slots up for grabs, so hop to it and get creative.
There’s no set start date for Fall Guys Season 4, but we do know that the seasons usually last about two months, with Season 3 lasting the longest so far, prompting a mid-season 3.5 update. I’d expect Fall Guys Season 4 to drop very soon, but as soon as we get a set date we’ll update you accordingly.
If this has got you hyped but you haven’t had a chance to get into the jelly bean competition, don’t fret. Fall Guys is finally coming to Xbox – and we recently got a Fall Guys Nintendo Switch release window.

From shifting face plates to bizarre unicorn head/bird feet combos, the randomize costume option looks like a great way to shake up your bean’s look before jumping into a match. With Fall Guys season 2 bringing a medieval fantasy theme, there will be tons of great new costumes that will make this randomizer feature even more fun (I *need* the witch skin).
According to the official Fall Guys Twitter account, the ability to randomize your costume was requested on the Fall Guys Discord (opens in new tab), where you can vote on community suggestions. From the looks of it, the randomize costume suggestion started picking up steam over the weekend, and got a coveted spot on the “most-suggested-things” thread on the Discord. The Fall Guys devs were quick to jump on the idea, officially announcing it was “straight up” added for Fall Guys season 2 before the weekend was over. Pretty fast response, eh?
As we previously reported, Fall Guys season 2 will begin on Thursday, October 8, bringing with it new games, nameplates and titles, and of course, the random costume option. Starting today, Monday, October 5, you can earn double Fame Points to help yourself rank up fast in the lead up to the highly anticipated Fall Guys season 2. The more costumes, the more randomization, right?
Mediatonic has revealed some interesting things about your favorite beans: Fall Guys are six feet tall, sometimes happy, and always have messed up insides.

]]>The post Fall Guys seasons will add “bunch of free content” to the game, confirms Mediatonic appeared first on Game News.
]]>Speaking to GamesRadar (opens in new tab) earlier this month, lead designer Joe Walsh explained that “each season is going to come with a batch of new levels, basically, that we’re going to add to the pile.”
“Alongside that, we’re going to be adding like new costumes and new things to unlock. So every now and again, the game is gonna get injected with a bunch of free content.”

The Fall Guys lore is kind of dark (opens in new tab)
“The joy of Fall Guys comes from not knowing what you’re gonna be doing next,” continued Walsh, “and that is something that will just get better and better the more rounds that we put in.”
“With 25 people [at Mediatonic], there are already levels that we forget about. And then you’re like, ‘Oh my god, I totally forgot that this even existed’. The more we can push that as like the seasons roll on, and we have more and more content, the better.”
Walsh also promised that Mediatonic is “listening to community” about highly requested features like “squads modes and cross play”, which are hopefully not too far off the horizon for the already hugely popular battle royale.
Coincidentally, the latest set of Fall Guys patch notes (opens in new tab) are going live today, introducing a new level to the roster while introducing a number of hotfixes to make your runs feel just that little bit smoother (but no less unpredictable).
We know it’s a bit early, but here’s what we know so far about Fall Guys season 2 (opens in new tab). Alternatively, why not check out our latest Trending Topic in the video below?

]]>The post Fall Guys solos playlist may be on the way “if team games arent your thing” appeared first on Game News.
]]>Of the 24 modes that are currently playable in Fall Guys (opens in new tab), roughly a third are team games that require multiple wobbling jelly bean people to work together toward one goal: for instance, Fall Ball is soccer with a giant ball and Egg Scramble is a race to grab and keep the most eggs in your corner, and if your team stinks there’s not much you can do on your own (though our Fall Guys tips (opens in new tab) may help).
Members of the Fall Guys community have been voicing their frustration with these modes on Reddit, and lead game designer Joe Walsh responded with a thoughtful explanation (opens in new tab) of why Fall Guys team games are important, and how the studio may help players who would prefer to avoid them.
You can read Walsh’s full explanation in that Reddit post, but here’s a summary of his main points about team games: most players outside of hardcore circles seem to enjoy them, the chaos they create is a big part of Fall Guys’ basic premise, they give less skilled players a chance to qualify in later rounds, they open up more possibilities for scoring-type rounds, and they lightly encourage players to join parties.
“This all being said, we really like the idea of doing a ‘pure solos’ or ‘Gauntlet Only’ playlist in some form down the line, so if team games aren’t your thing there should be events/modes that appeal to you in the future,” Walsh added. “We’re still figuring this out and timelines are up in the air given launch craziness, but don’t worry, we ARE listening!”
Fall Guys doesn’t have any sort of playlist system at the moment, but it definitely has the player count (opens in new tab) to support opening up a few separate options. Maybe that will be something to look forward to in Fall Guys season 2 (opens in new tab).
If you really want to avoid team games, you could always try Dollar Store Fall Guys (opens in new tab).

]]>The post Fall Guys servers down: Matchmaking stalls as the devs prepare for the weekend appeared first on Game News.
]]>Players have reported problems with finding a match since the servers came back online alongside the fresh update to Fall Guys released earlier today. While developer Mediatonic intentionally took the Fall Guys servers down (specifically their matchmaking services) earlier this week to manage the server load, it hasn’t made any announcements about taking such measures this time.
This is the most recent status update from the official Fall Guys server status Twitter account as of about 2:30 pm EDT. It looks like the developers are still getting things sorted out from the recent update and are currently focused on getting the situation stabilized.
HOOT! A lot of requests for an update – we’re still working super hard on getting things all prepped for the weekend. Thank you so much for your patience, we know this isn’t fun!We will let you know as soon as things have stablised and you’re good to hop back in!August 7, 2020

Mediatonic took the Fall Guys servers down earlier today to implement some “optimizations and enhancements” to the game’s backend, ideally to keep it stable throughout the weekend rush. Some players seem to still be able to connect and play matches, but GR’s own Iain Wilson has gone several hours without managing to get into a game this afternoon.
With the Fall Guys servers down, you might as well spend your time strategizing for that next round of Egg Scramble. Make sure you check out our Fall Guys tips for plenty of advice that will help push you all the way to the crown. And if you haven’t gotten a chance to try it yourself yet, I’ll leave you with this line from our Fall Guys review.
“Because defeat never feels crushing and you’re only ever a few seconds from beginning anew with 59 other goofballs, the one-more-game urge is rarely so tantalizing as it is in Fall Guys.”
We talked to Mediatonic about how it made “the perfect blend of chaos and skill” in our Fall Guys interview.
