]]>That video makes Mario DDR look like a happy memory. Do you see now that Just Dance is so powerful that they can get permission from Nintendo to embarrass Mario to such a degree? Ubisoft can hire some guy, dress him as Mario, stand him in front of a green screen, make him dance, and charge money for it. It costs 250 Nintendo Points, and goes on sale tomorrow on the Wii eShop. Oh well, it can’t be worse than the Smurfs’ dance game.

You most likely knew Casino Night Zone was coming: the level was a pre-order bonus for GameStop customers. The Sonic 2 stage has been reinvented for Generations in the style of Genesis spinoff Sonic Spinball, which would have been a pretty great game if it had cost somewhere around $5. Japanese players are paying 320 MSP for the stage, which means it’ll probably run you $4 when it comes to America, which technically makes it a pretty great value.

Also available are avatar costumes that will make your XBLA avatar look pretty darling. Slap some thick glasses and badges for a couple of indie bands on that Amy Rose outfit and boom, instant hipster chick. Of course, it also comes with a furry hedgehog cowl, as do the Sonic and Super Sonic varieties – which, if you’re that terrified of people thinking you might be a fur-fetishist, could put you off paying 240 MSP for it. But it shouldn’t, because they’re delightful.

Finally, there are themes for XBLA and PlayStation 3, which are commanding prices of 240 MSP and ¥200 ($US2.50) a piece. These all ought to hit Western consoles soon, so start saving up your real money for digital goodies!

]]>Seems like a pretty rich pack of add-ons for the price, with new maps, items and playable characters including Big Rig Dizzy back when the character wore brutally unironic trucker hats. We should mention that if you bought the Gears 3 Season Pass (opens in new tab) this is included and is available for you right now for no additional cost. How’s this for a first download pack? Good enough or are you holding out for something more single player focused?

“GT5 DLC will hit the North American Store on 10/25 but will include a special bonus,” Sony tweeted to its PlayStation account today, though no word on what that might comprise. But with four new packs to make your way through, or one $12 update including new tracks, cars, items and paints, what’s one week in the grand scheme of things?

Foe-shattering Freeze Tag, babe-hoarding Hot Potato and free-for-all Hail to the King, round out the pack’s new modes. The four new multiplayer maps will also be packed with graphics and snark.
Call of Duke features “modern combat” in an urban warzone, while Inferno returns to Duke’s long-beloved pastime: making fun of Doom via 16-bit graphics. Meanwhile, 2Forts1Bridge gives Team Fortress 2 a sarcastic tip of the silly hat. The last and smallest new map will be Sandpit, where many mini-Dukes will fight the good fight with Sticky Bombs.
Hail to the Icons launches on Oct 11. It’s a free download for First Access Club members who pre-registered before the game’s launch; all others can pay $10 or 800 MSP to give Duke another chance to prove himself.
