]]>For both Dealthoop weapon and character trinkets you’ll find Crude, Sleek and Exemplar versions which are grey, blue and purple (although the blue ones glow green on the floor). These roughly map out as ‘common’, ‘rare’ and ‘epic’ level drops with whatever effect they have ramping up from ‘slightly’ to ‘moderately’ and eventually ‘greatly’ affecting whatever they alter.
It’s obviously always worth swapping out lower level Trinkets for higher powered ones as you progress. And when you do replace the ones you use with better options, feel free to sacrifice them for the Residium you need to save gear when you loop. With weapons you might want to keep a few copies as you can equip three guns, but with Character Trinkets Colt can only ever equip one so there’s no point hanging on to duplicates.

Deathloop weapon trinkets can be used to buff and improve your guns, with the level of weapon affecting how many you can add. Crude/common/grey weapons can take a single Trinket, Sleek/blue/rare take two and Exemplar/purple/epic stack three. Whatever you go for you’ll want to play to a weapon’s strengths. So buffing a Spiker’s range and accuracy over distance will extend your stealth capabilities. Extending damage range will help shotguns, while damping down recoil will improve SMGs.

The various Deathloop character Trinkets buff and improve a range of Colt’s abilities. There is a core set you’ll probably want to equip most of the time, as well as a few – like gas immunity – you’ll be swapping in for specific missions. We’ve marked the best basic Deadloop Character Trinkets you’ll want to rock most of the time below. The boost to health, the power that fuels your abilities, and damage reduction, will let you fight longer. While the double jump will get you just about anywhere, so you can equip something other than the Shift teleport ability. But, as we mentioned, swap things in and out when you’re dealing with a specific problem.
For the most part these Tickets will drop randomly from enemies and Visionaries but we’ve detailed any that appear to have fixed origin.

If you haven’t found it already while exploring, you’ll find the Deathloop cassette puzzle when searching the Fristad Shore for where Charlie and Fia meet in secret. When you’ve found the door in the photo – head past Fia’s bunker to the shore and then turn left to follow the sea around until you see the door with the 09 next to it – you’ll find this crazy looking machine inside.

On the machine you’ll find book called ‘Order of Operations’ that will give you the combination to the safe in the Yerhva, the Queen of Riddles machine in Karl’s Bay. Head there and inside the safe you’ll find a note, which is what you need to actually solve the cassette puzzle.

The note, in a round about, way tells you where to find four pictograms inside Fia’s bunker that will give you the code to open the Deathloop cassette puzzle. The clues are these:
This is a wafty way of saying the pictogram locations are in the following places inside Fia’s bunker:
When you’ve found all the images you should find your Visionary leads looks like below, and you’ll be ready to head to Fristad Rock.

Once you have all four pictograms you’ll be able to solve the Deathloop pictogram puzzle through the careful process of pressing all the buttons and checking where the images are marked on the blueprints on the console. Fortunately you’ll only have to do this once as after you get the right combination the first time the numbers will appear over the console every time you come back. When you’ve got all the numbers the Pumping Station door will open and you’ll be able to scout out where Charlies and Fia meet up for a little ‘not allowed on the island’ fun.

]]>Launching in September on PC and as a timed console exclusive on PS5, Deathloop put players in the shoes of Colt, an assassin tasked with taking out eight targets in a single day. Until he – and thus you – figure out how to do that, the day will just keep repeating infinitely, allowing you to learn about each target’s movements, discover various ways to take them out, and how best to move around the world.
With the day split up into four distinct time zones, and the game’s world of Blackreef itself also divided into four districts, it’s mainly about figuring out where to be and when in order to find the perfect assassination route.
In our four-and-a-half star review, we praised Deathloop for not being what we expected it to be, and for the fact it “seemed to challenge expectations without reservation”.
“It’s a murder mystery that’s suspended in a time loop. It’s a first-person shooter that features a shotgun that can transform into a rifle. It’s a sci-fi spy adventure that’s stuck in the ’70s. It’s all of these things and none of them at all,” wrote Josh West. “My impression of Deathloop seemed to shift with every passing hour and, as a result, it’s difficult to not be impressed – if not thoroughly enthralled – with what Arkane has pieced together here. It’s different, it’s stylish, it’s new. You won’t play anything else quite like Deathloop for a very long time.”
Deathloop is playable now as a timed exclusive on PS5, as well as on PC.

]]>Deathloop is going to be a PS5 and PC exclusive – albeit a timed one – so players on those platforms can act now and nail down their Deathloop pre-order. If you’re like me and are planning to double up on big game pre-orders that month, I believe that picking up both a Mass Effect Legendary Edition pre-order as well as a Deathloop pre-order means – I think – that you have to play all of the former before the latter in *checks notes* a week. Them’s the rules.
Deathloop on PS5 certainly looks like a very interesting prospect though, and that’s due to it being able to harness all the power and opportunities the PS5 presents. The controller is undoubtedly a key part of this. For example, we know that weapons will jam and you’ll feel them in the DualSense, particular if you have early, limited weapons; you’ll feel distinct nuances in recoil and reloading animations that vary from weapon to weapon; and you’ll feel the movement’s of Colt translated through the DualSense, down to the feel of each different surface your traversing.
Overall, however, the game looks like an absolute treat once again from Arkane. There’s the immersive sim-flavoured setting and story, draped in a retro 60s-inspired aesthetic, a mix of supernatural powers as well as cool weapon mechanics, and some intriguing characters and targets to boot. We can’t wait to place our Deathloop pre-order and neither should you. Here’s the lowdown on how to preorder Deathloop and what’s occurring with each edition available.

There are only two editions of the game on offer, which should make a Deathloop pre-order relatively easy. Picking between the Standard and Deluxe versions of the game shouldn’t make you lose too much sleep.
Whatever version you choose you do get the following pre-order bonuses:

The Standard Edition of Deathloop is pretty modest, offering just the game itself. That said, Deathloop feels like it’s going to be one of the games of the year already so you’ll still get much bang for buck – plus those pre-order bonuses mentioned above. Here’s what prices are looking like right now:
US Deathloop Standard Edition prices

The Deathloop Deluxe Edition has a little more on offer than its Standard Edition counterpart. As well as the aforementioned pre-order prices, you get the following goodies for a Deathloop pre-order in the form of the Deluxe Edition:

]]>The post Deathloop gets a gameplay trailer at the PS5 Future of Gaming Event appeared first on Game News.
]]>Today’s gameplay trailer focused on Colt, who wields a medley of supernatural powers that allow him to push enemies and pull himself to targets or vantages. Deathloop looks extremely Dishonored, but seemingly heavier on the shooting. Fittingly, Colt dies shortly into the trailer, setting him back to the start of the titular loop. It looks like we’ll be dying until we get things right as we pursue our targets.
“There’s eight targets, and they all gotta die before midnight,” Colt says. It sounds like we’ll need to find an effective path to assassinate all eight of these baddies to break the time loop, but with Juliana – who also seems to be playable, based on the end of the trailer – and everyone in town after Colt’s head, that’s easier said than done.
In case you’ve forgotten, Deathloop is the next game from Dishonored developer Arkane. It was originally announced during Bethesda’s E3 2019 presentation, and today’s reveal is the first we’ve seen of it since its original cinematic trailer. Deathloop stars two assassins, Juliana and Colt, who are stuck in a literal loop of death tied to the mysterious Black Reef. For one reason or another – something to do with “the cycle” – they killing each other, and seemingly everyone else that gets in their way, including the kind of creepy animatronic enemies you’d expect from Arkane.
Like Dishonored, Deathloop encourages players to approach situations however they see fit – which is to say, violently or extra violently. You can confront your targets in a zillion different ways using a suite of weapons and abilities split between Colt and Juliana, and we’re excited to see what Arkane’s cooked up this time.
Deathloop will be a timed exclusive on PS5, but it will eventually come to PC. It’s coming holiday 2020.
