The post “It just snapped” – Ryan Reynolds accidentally broke Deadpool 2’s biggest Easter egg (and kept the footage in the movie) appeared first on Game News.
]]>Speaking on the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut director’s commentary (h/t ComicBook.com (opens in new tab)), Reynolds reveals that the clip of Wade Wilson messing around with Professor X’s chair, Cerebro, in the X-Mansion actually features him breaking the darn thing.
“That was an actual accident on the day. I didn’t mean to do that at all,” Reynolds says of the incident, “It just snapped.” To which director David Leitch replied: “So, you actually broke a historical X-Men prop.” Welp. We’ve all been there… right?
The scene in question – which can also be seen in one of the Deadpool 2 trailers (opens in new tab) – sees the Merc with a Mouth recovering under Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus’ care. He still can’t resist taking Professor X’s chair for a spin – quite literally, it seems as playing with the wheels causes the frame of the chair to jolt back.
In fact, Reynolds reckons Patrick Stewart, the actor who played Prof. X right up until Logan (opens in new tab), might have something to say about it. “I’ll get a strongly-written letter from Patrick Stewart about it,” the actor teases.
In any case, you can now re-watch Deadpool 2 again and again with the home release. Just pay close attention to the Cerebro scene. You can pinpoint the exact moment where the chair (and Patrick Stewart’s heart) snaps.

]]>As revealed by makeup artist and supervisor Bill Corso on his Instagram account (H/T Screen Rant (opens in new tab)), Omega Red’s prosthetics were laid bare for the world to see.

If you’re unfamiliar with the villain, you should know that he’s already been confirmed to appear in the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut (opens in new tab) under the deleted scene ‘Chess with Omega Red’. Which is bound to be interesting as his comic book counterpart is less knight to B4 and more ‘move, before I decapitate you with my super-strong tentacles.’ But, I digress.
What’s really interesting, however, is the hint that, according to Corso, we’re getting even more “blink and you’ll miss them” mutant villains during the Ice Box prison scenes, with Corso and company seemingly scouring through Fox’s Marvel back catalogue to find the best of the best when it comes to obscure baddies
So, not only have we got one helluva X-Men villain ready to geek out over in the extended cut of Deadpool 2, we’re going to have to hammer the pause button into the ground just to see how many deep cuts we can find lurking in the background of each scene. Unless Deadpool literally pauses each scene to point out every Easter egg and, honestly, I wouldn’t put it past him.
We’ll be heading a lot more from a certain Wade Wilson this week. That’s because San Diego Comic Con 2018 (opens in new tab) is hosting a very special Deadpool 2 panel.

Comparing Deadpool 2 to the jump in quality from Captain America: The First Avenger (opens in new tab) to Captain America: The Winter Soldier (opens in new tab), Liefeld explains: “No one expects the second movie to be a smaller film. People expect the follow-up to expand and Deadpool 2, by having Cable and Domino involved, easily fulfils that promise.”
So, in much the same way the presence of Black Widow and Bucky swelled out the ranks to create a meatier movie with higher stakes, Deadpool 2 appears to be doing likewise. But that’s not all. The Merc with the Mouth’s second coming is going to be far more action-heavy too, drawing from a certain classic sci-fi franchise…
“With Deadpool 2, it’s a bit like the difference between Ridley Scott’s original Alien and James Cameron’s Aliens, which was much more action-oriented and also had bigger tech and way more aliens.”
While we can probably (we think) disregard that last part in reference to aliens, it’s going to be interesting to see how Deadpool 2 really ups the stakes. We’ve already had nut-shots and a laundry list of silly shoot-outs – how can Wade Wilson possibly top that?

]]>Or maybe you just want to watch him do some high-kicks in casual fishing attire? Either way, he’ll arrive in Tekken 7 – with a whole new wardrobe – on March 20.
Enjoy the cutting edge of ’90s gaming with a new collection from Sega, featuring 50 golden oldies like Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, and Streets of Rage. It’s coming to PS4 and Xbox One on May 29, but Nintendo Switch owners have been brutally shunned.
Apparently some people watch Deadpool for more than just Ryan Reynolds in spandex, because according to Collider, recent reshoots are focused on increasing the screen time for Zazie Beets as Domino (a walking weapon and mercenary) and Josh Brolin as time-hopping warrior Cable.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 dropped in 2013, so either someone handed in their work really late, or EA decided five years later was the perfect time to add a competitive mode. Battlez pits you against another player, attempting to kill as many zombies as possible, as far away from your house as possible, to build a winning score.
If you haven’t checked out the misleadingly adorable Kerbal Space Program yet, the new Making History Expansion which launches today on PC is the perfect excuse. The game uses actual physics and aerodynamics to prove that you know nothing about building spacecraft, but then throws in cute aliens to make it all a bit less devastating.

]]>No, not by going to see Deadpool 2 (opens in new tab) (although that is coming out May 18 and is sure to be just as batty as the first film). I mean the limited comic series You Are Deadpool, from writer Al Ewing and artists Salva Espin and Paco Diaz, which blurs the line between comic and tabletop roleplaying. Sound strange? Well, it is. But hopefully this preview will help make it clear:

You can see even more pages on Twitter:
Presenting… YOU ARE DEADPOOL, coming this May! It’s a comic miniseries…that is ALSO a game! It’s a playable adventure where YOU decide what Deadpool does, YOU get him into fights, YOU roll dice to decide those fights… because YOU ARE DEADPOOL! While some decisions are purely binary and thus give the book a bit of a “choose your own adventure” vibe like you’re back in 3rd grade again (don’t tell me you never read Beware of the Purple Peanut Butter (opens in new tab) from the Give Yourself Goosebumps book series), there will be more and more game-like elements as the series continues.
For example, you’ll want to keep some dice handy as you read, because it can determine whether Deadpool wins or loses in that timeless staple of video games, the boss fight. You’ll also be able to steal items from the pages and place them in your ‘inventory,’ play mini-games that revolve around bar fights and beat poetry. There’s even the obligatory stealth section.
Although each issue will be largely self-contained, your inventory and some choices persist throughout the series. Think of it kind of like a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, with the comic serving as your Dungeon Master. Or would that be Dungeons & Deadpool, with the comic acting as a Deadpool Master? In any case, it sounds amazing, and may indeed be the closest fans come to being Deadpool. Look for You Are Deadpool #1 in May.

]]>There’s still a lot more Actual Movie in this teaser than that bizarre ‘wet on wet’ Bob Ross parody trailer (opens in new tab), though, which… I mean, I guess it’s a good thing. But I think I might like all the weird non-sequitur skits even more than seeing a bunch of action-packed scenes from the movie strung together to a throbbing soundtrack.
Still, I can’t complain about getting a proper, moving-images introduction to Josh Brolin as Cable, and a much better look at Zazie Beetz as Domino. New director David Leitch, director of Atomic Blonde and co-director of John Wick, has done a deft job of punching up the action as well. The original movie wasn’t lacking in spectacle – that car crash fight scene remains a pinnacle of superhero cinema – but now the sequel has a fair shot at outdoing it.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (opens in new tab) fans should really appreciate how well Deadpool puts a frying pan to use in close-range combat, for example. Wade Wilson makes it to the top 10 of every match.
Deadpool 2 is scheduled to debut on May 16, 2018. While you’re waiting for the wisecracking-est merc to hit cinemas once again, make sure you read the official Deadpool 2 plot synopsis that almost certainly has nothing to do with the actual movie (opens in new tab).
