The post All types of Animal Crossing New Horizons fruit and where to find it appeared first on Game News.
]]>So to help you out, here’s all the Animal Crossing New Horizons fruit types and how to get them.
You will get one natively growing per island, as we’ve mentioned, but here’s how to get the rest:

Once you’ve paid off your initial moving fees for the island – that 5,000 Mile toll from Tom Nook – you’ll unlock the ability to spend your Miles on all sorts of things, including Nook Miles Tickets. Purchased from the Nook Stop in Resident Services for 2,000 Miles a pop, they allow you to temporary travel to another randomly generated island, which will have the chance of spawning a different fruit type – along with a tonne of other resources of course.
Plus, these islands will always have palm trees on the beach, for nabbing yourself a coconut or 10. Make sure to plant your ‘nuts on the beach when you’re back home too, they won’t grow anywhere else.

If you really want to get all the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fruit fast, you’ll need to coordinate with your fellow Animal Crossing-playing buddies to do a fruit swap. Or, put out your shout on the internet and see who replies. It can be a wonderful world out there so get travelling.
You can do this via the Airport of course, you’ll just need their Dodo ID, or already be friends on Switch, in order to make the trip.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons perfect fruit feels like a bit of a myth right now. In New Leaf, you had a high chance of getting a perfect fruit version of your native fruit growing on a single tree. These perfect fruit will retail for 3000-odd bells instead of the usual 600, so it was quite the little money maker.
But so far, it seems it’s unconfirmed whether you can get perfect fruit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but we’ll keep you posted if we discover, or hear, anything different.

]]>The post How to create hybrid flowers in Animal Crossing New Horizons appeared first on Game News.
]]>It’s worth it though as the all the color variations, or hybrids, you can grow can really add to your island. Both in terms of looks and customisation as much as bragging rights when people see what you’ve got on display. There are also new breeds that haven’t featured in the series before too, so it makes the process even more exciting for players old and new to discover.
Coming up we have all the details for the Animal Crossing New Horizons flower hybrids for you to unlock. As well as how to create hybrid flowers, and the best planting practices to follow for success, so check it out.

Like with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fruit, you will have a certain number of flowers native to your island. On mine, for example, I grew pansies, hyacinths and windflowers natively, but had to travel to friends’ islands to gather the rest. You can get lucky using Nook Miles Tickets (opens in new tab) trips, but I’ve not had any luck with that despite all the money I’ve spent on tickets.
Here’s the full list of Animal Crossing: New Horizons flowers available:

Just as with previous Animal Crossing games, you can crossbreed your blooms to get hybrid flowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These provide unique colour variations that can’t be bought or found growing naturally. You’re basically about to become a flower scientist.
To create flower hybrids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll need to plant your flowers in a checkerboard pattern on your island. This will give them space to cross-pollinate and do some flower breeding, with the hybrid flowers growing in the gaps.
You’ll need to make sure your flowers are watered each day – either by you with your watering can, or the rain. You’ll know which flowers have been watered by their sparkle.
It’s worth noting that I stumbled across this amazing piece of knowledge on Reddit, that suggested that if your friends come over and water your flowers for you, the higher the probability of hybrid flowers forming. Take a look:

I’m also finding that if I also water flowers even if it’s raining, they also sparkle more, so although it might feel silly, it will help your hybrid production.

]]>The post Save $30 on this Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch bundle at Dell appeared first on Game News.
]]>We don’t often see too many Nintendo Switch bundles on US shelves these days, aside from smaller discounts on memory cards at Amazon. That makes this Animal Crossing-themed offer all the more impressive, especially if you’re after everything you need to get started from day one.
For reference, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game itself still regularly sells at its $59.99 MSRP, only ever dropping down to $51 outside of larger sales events. In fact, taking the $15 cost of the case into account, you’re actually getting the lowest price we’ve seen on this particular title. Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals only dropped that cost down to $49.99 in November, $20 more than the $30 price point we’re technically seeing today.
You’ll find more information on this offer just below, and plenty more Nintendo Switch deals further down the page as well.
Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition | Animal Crossing: New Horizons | carry case | $344.99 at Dell (opens in new tab)
Dell says you’re saving $40 here, but it’s more like $30 with the Animal Crossing game coming in at $59.99 and the carry case available for $15 by itself. Still, that’s an excellent offer, considering we don’t usually see Nintendo Switch bundles offering this much gear for a discounted rate.
If you’re not a fan of the Animal Crossing special edition, or you’re just interested in Nintendo Switch OLED stock, you’ll find plenty more Nintendo Switch deals on consoles and games just below.
We’re also rounding up plenty of cheap Nintendo Switch game sales, and all the best Nintendo Switch accessories to boot. Or, if you’re playing the long game, we’re also getting you prepped for this year’s Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals as well.

]]>The post Top tips for creating your new restaurant in Happy Home Paradise appeared first on Game News.
]]>
Before you start creating, you’ll want to have a think about the kind of restaurant you want to provide for the folks on the archipelago. With all the items available in the game, you have quite a few options to choose from. You could make an American diner, with the classic 50s-inspired decor or opt for an Asian seafood restaurant with live fish walls to bring your vision to life. You could also do something akin to a French bistro too, or opt for a definitely 100% original fast-food chain with the help of custom content.

Once you’ve decided on the theme for your restaurant, you’ll then want to start by placing your tables and chairs. This is a space where your diners and serving staff will be moving around in, so make sure to leave plenty of space between the furniture for them to navigate successfully to their table. Placing the seating areas first will also help you define your space, and realise just how much room you’ll need for the other elements. Don’t forget, in order for your restaurant to tick all the boxes for Lottie, you’ll need at least four chairs, two tables, and a cash register – so think about that when you’re designing too.

Regardless of how much time you spend picking out your furniture and other items, your restaurant will only be brought to life when you start adding extras. Getting the wallpaper right is key, like diner walls or exquisite walls, as that can make or break your space. And don’t forget you can add an accent wall if needed too.
Then it’s time for adding all those details like paintings, accessories, and ceiling lights that really finish off your space. After all, what restaurant is really worth going to if the walls aren’t adorned with conversation starters.

While it’s tempting to just focus on the area your diners will see, take some time to add a kitchen to your restaurant too. It’s here that your chef and their apprentice will be making the meals, so they’ll need a space to get prepping. Add stoves, counters, and other culinary equipment to really make this feel like a working kitchen. Because, after all, it is!

Now that you’ve made your restaurant, what’s quite unique about this space is that it benefits you to keep coming back to check in on your creation. Not only will you find new potential clients sitting at the tables enjoying their meal, but if you head on back into the kitchen and speak to the chef, you’ll get a daily present – one of the brand new cooking DIY recipes! It’s a great way to complete your cookbook and ensure you get access to another recipe every day, guaranteed.

]]>The recreation includes a checkout, fully stocked shelves, freezers, and even villager Pippy in a 7/11 uniform. The most impressive thing about this recreation however is all of the level of detail hidden within its design. For instance, you’ve got a wet floor sign in the middle of two aisles, custom hanging signs advertising the products on the shelf below, and even 7/11 branding across the store.
There’s far too much detail to condense into a few words so take a look at the excellent recreation yourself below.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has always been a great game to recreate your favorite places in. For example, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Ikea recreation and the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Squid Game subway station recreation. However, this has just become so much easier to do following the release of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC.
If you’ve been living on an actual deserted island for the past few months, here’s why Happy Home Paradise is a great way for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to exercise their creativity. In Happy Home Paradise players are tasked with creating villagers’ dream homes, so in this example, it looks like the player took Pippy’s request for ‘a very convenient store’ literally and made the villager her very own convience store.

]]>Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0 has introduced a wealth of exciting new features and items that have breathed new life into my island life. But nothing is arguably as game-changing as the Pro Camera App for our little Nook Phones. The excellent handheld camera feature will let you change the perspective to first-person, and I can’t get enough of it. The first time I used it, I was overwhelmed by the way it really made me feel like I was truly in Animal Crossing: New Horizons myself. Shifting to my villager’s perspective has been bringing me closer to my island and my fuzzy companions in a very literal sense, and it’s easily one of my favorite new features.

Happy Home Paradise’s outdoor design tools belong in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The first chance I get, I have to go on what I end up dubbing ‘The Magical Walking Tour’ of my island. With the handheld camera’s eye-level view and the zoom functionality, I can now hone in on furniture, items, and areas like never before. I start noticing small details that previously passed me by, and get to appreciate the designs of little objects now that can now get a closer picture of my surroundings.
The latest update, coupled with the Happy Home Paradise DLC, introduced a variety of exciting new items that are perfect for giving your island a fresh new look. Some of these new furniture additions feature delightful animations that really bring them to life, and with my first-person perspective, I can truly appreciate them. I recently created my own fairground using some of the new Plaza items and I couldn’t wait to see it during my magic walking tour. I delight in all of the little details of the attractions, from the Ferris wheel to the game stand with little ducks moving along in a row. I also zoom right in on the balloon stand and watch as the inflatable dog bobs up and down with the wind.
The variety of different gyroids are also a treat to watch using the handheld camera. Each gyroid type has a different design and movement that makes each decorative friend unique, and each time I dig up another one to add to my collection, I whip the camera straight out to get a close up look. I’ve also taken to going to a spot on my island where I can use this perspective to look out over the ocean and listen to the soothing sounds of the waves.
When you’re outside using the camera app, your movement is somewhat restricted – you can only move side-to-side or backwards and forwards. Inside, though, you can spin right around with the camera to take in a 360 view of each room for an extra magical view. Naturally, no tour would be complete without stepping into the place I call home on Iced Tea Island and I can hardly wait to see my home like I’ve never seen it before. As soon as I enter my front door, I take out the handheld camera to take in all the decorations at eye-level. Suddenly, I to feel as if I’m actually walking around the house I designed, and I spend some time taking in each room. Once again, this first-person perspective is letting me see a place I’ve seen so many times before with a renewed sense of appreciation.

When I’m not touring my island or soaking up the sights of someone else’s island with my camera, I’m spending all of my time taking up close up shots of my villagers and setting up the perfect selfie with my favourite faces. Yes, Animal Crossing has well and truly really entered the smartphone generation now with the Pro Camera app functionality. Who wouldn’t want to take a selfie with Blathers or Brewster? Or get an adorable group shot of your villagers as they wander around the plaza? In all honesty, I fear for the memory space of my Switch now more than ever. How can I possibly stop taking screenshots when the camera is this good?
Part of what makes the series so special is the characters who inhabit your island or town right alongside you. As someone who grew up playing Animal Crossing, there are certain villagers who are akin to childhood friends – like my dear cat pal Punchy – and I really appreciate the fact that New Horizons gives us a way to capture memories with them. The update has now made it possible for me to take photos that are worthy of hanging on my wall in reality. If only I could tell my kid self I will someday be able to take a close up shot of Punchy cooking, or snap a photo of us together as we both beam at the lens. My library of screenshots is now full of hilarious and adorable closeups, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Using the Pro Camera app really does make it feel like I’m being transported directly into the shoes of my villager. I never expected the shift to a first-person perspective would make it feel like I’m actually in Animal Crossing, or give me a renewed sense of appreciation for the animations and smaller details of my island, but it did just that and more. It’s opened up the world of New Horizons to me like never before, and it’s the kind of feature I never knew I needed until now.

The gaming desk item was introduced to the game in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0 and can be found in Nook’s Cranny as well as the Paradise Planning office for 53,000 bells. The desk comes in eight different variations from pink, white, black, green, blue, and more. Each monitor’s display can also be customized using seven customization kits. Players who have new villager Ione on their island will also be able to find this set up in the celestial squirrel’s home.
This is just one of the new items added in the latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, as one datamine recently discovered over 9000 new items have been added to the game’s code. One especially exciting item which had fans desperately searching in Nook’s Cranny for since the update was released is the iconic froggy chair which has been a staple in the Animal Crossing series since the very first game.

]]>One of Nook’s remarks, in particular, makes this ceremony feel like such a milestone moment. “Our fine Iced Tea started with nothing more than a single tent,” Nook says, “and just look at it now.” I find myself unable to move past these words as I reflect back on just how much I’ve been through in the lead up to this point. From choosing the perfect little spot to set down my tent, right up to the introduction of Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0, so much has changed since I first boarded that plane to experience Nook’s getaway package. I’ve been through so much as I’ve moulded the sandy shores of my island into my own slice of paradise. And now, with the introduction of my old pal Brewster and his signature café – along with some other familiar faces – everything suddenly feels so complete.

The big Animal Crossing: New Horizons update has breathed new life into my daily routine
The overwhelming volume of new features and items the update added had me reeling in the first few days. Nothing excites me more in the lead up to the release of the patch, though, than the prospect of seeing the return of The Roost. After all, me and Brewster? Well, we go way back. My love for Animal Crossing first began with the original game on GameCube and as my time with the series went on, the main cast of characters became closer to real childhood friends than virtual NPCs.
While I did dabble in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: New Leaf consumed me more than any other iteration that followed the 2001 and I spent a lot of time in The Roost. I raced to visit the café everyday to see which character had pulled up a stool to have a brew, and some of my fondest memories were spent in that cosy little corner enjoying a cup of Blue Mountain, or serving up a special coffee to a visiting customer as the barista. Since I enjoyed going to the café so much in past games, there was no holding back my excitement about the prospect of seeing my dear old pal and his coffee establishment arrive on my island in New Horizons at long last – with an upgraded makeover for the Switch no less.

The way the update introduces Brewster to your island successfully only serves to build up my sense of anticipation all the more. Blathers is looking for a way to draw more interest to the museum, and what better way to do that than by inviting his old buddy with a love for coffee to come and set up a café? After spending most of my time on my island in much the same way for months, part of what I’ve been loving most about the update is the opportunity to have new goals to work towards. Instead of simply adding the café right away, the knowledgeable owl asks if you can hop on one of Kapp’n’s boat tours to find Brewster.
It feels extra special that I get to see and spend time with another familiar face in order to find Brewster. Aboard Kapp’n’s little motorboat, I well and truly ride the nostalgia wave as we head towards the island that will set the scene for the reunion I’m about to have with my feathered friend. For the first time in years, we’re finally together again. He looks extra fuzzy thanks to the Switch’s upgraded graphics, but it’s still the same old pigeon I know so well. I’m not quite prepared for just how emotional it makes me to see him and know that he’ll finally be on my island in a few days, doing what he does best.

Once Brewster has officially arrived, Blathers takes a moment during the opening ceremony to add a few words after Tom Nook. The wise owl talks about how he’s old friends with Brewster and expresses joy at the fact that his pal is joining the museum to serve the Iced Tea Island residents with his unique blends of coffee. Their long-time friendship is reflected in an adorable little photo hanging up on the wall of the café, along with other framed snaps that show off the New Leaf café I fondly recall so well, and everyone’s favorite guitar strumming dog, K.K. Slider.
Nintendo has done such a wonderful job of adding in little details like this that stay true to the legacy of the series’ most beloved characters and call back to the earlier games. As a long-time player, it’s made my reunion with these familiar faces all the more enjoyable and heart-warming. Brewster, for example, has always had a bit of a history with gyroids, so it’s only fitting that he introduces us to the new decorative little additions during our first encounter with him. Gyroids can also even be seen tucked away at the back of The Roost, which a sweet additional touch.
When I finally walk into the café for the very first time and soak in all these little details, I’m welcomed with the gentle notes of The Roost’s classic theme. The soft piano music transports me back to that safe, cosy little spot in New Leaf that I spent so much time in, and my island suddenly feels more like home than ever. The café fills me with so much nostalgia and love for the dear coffee-bean brewing bird friend and my island really does feel truly complete.
Opening the Roost feels like such a milestone moment, and it makes me stop and appreciate just how much I’ve been through and how far my island has come since I first set up camp. I began my adventures as the world was changing at the height of lockdown, and he sandy shores and my fuzzy friends brought me so much comfort during some very tough times. Even now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to provide me with a virtual space where I can take a breather and escape everything – if only for a little while. From a single tent to Brewster’s café, it’s been quite a journey. I can’t help but think about how apt Nook’s words are during the opening ceremony. Just look at my island now.

]]>
In order to start the process of removing a villager from your Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise island, you’re going to need to move someone new in. Once you’ve popped to the main office on the island and told Lottie you want to get to work, head out to the beach and find a new villager you want to move in. If none of the villagers and their themes take your fancy and you have some Amiibo cards handy, you can always invite villagers of your choosing using the Amiibo scanner on Lottie’s front desk.
When you select a new villager, you’ll begin the process of having a meeting and hearing about the vision they have for their home. Once you’re asked to choose a location to move in the new resident, be sure to select the plot of land that’s home to the villager you want to replace. After you’ve put together their dream holiday spot, you’ll notice the next time you go the map that your new villager’s face has replaced the previous tenant.

While this doesn’t technically permanently remove the villager, it does remove their face from the map. Since all of the villagers and homes you design are added to your portfolio, a shot of the previous villager and their vacation residence can still be seen on the display list of the location spot underneath the new home you’ve designed. You can also still visit the villager you’ve replaced in that spot and relocate them elsewhere, which is handy if you’ve moved a villager into the same spot by mistake.
