For those not versed in the basics, Legacy numbering counts all issues of all incarnations and volumes of a given title in an unbroken line as if it had never been canceled, relaunched, or renumbered.
Daredevil #650 was originally announced by Zdarsky himself back in August 2021, as the Daredevil story of the time was building toward the recently wrapped Devil’s Reign crossover event.
Back in 2021, Zdarsky announced Daredevil #650 as coinciding with the Legacy numbering of Daredevil #38. However, since then, it seems the decision was made to relaunch the title after Devil’s Reign rather than continuing the volume’s numbering, with the most recent Daredevil volume wrapping up with Daredevil #36.
But as you can likely intuit, 36+2=38, so it seems Daredevil #650 will stick to generally the same timeframe as was previously announced, just shifted in its main numbering thanks to the relaunch.

As for the contents of Daredevil #2/#650, Marvel has announced a whole host of creators including Rafael DeLatorre, Alex Maleev, Paul Azaceta, Phil Noto, Chris Samnee, Klaus Janson, and Mike Hawthorne. Marvel also promised more creators joining the issue would be announced soon and less than 24 hours later, they announced two more.
Daredevil veterans, writer Ann Nocenti and artist John Romita Jr., join the celebration in stories that pays homage to their late ’80s run, which Marvel says had a profound effect on DD’s legacy.
In a story tackling real-world issues, Nocenti will explore Daredevil’s “complex relationship” with the inhabitants of Hell’s Kitchen and “the dire changes on the horizon” in a story drawn by Zdarsky. ‘JRJr.’ will draw a sequence for the issue’s main story featuring Typhoid Mary – a creation of Nocenti and Romita Jr.
Typhoid Mary is now the love interest of the recently retired Wilson Fisk.
Marvel has released a couple of images from those stories which can be seen in the gallery below.
“It’s not often that a comic gets to issue two these days, so … oh wait, it’s issue 650?! Well in that case I’m over the moon that we get to celebrate with so many legendary Daredevil creators!: Zdarsky said. “Daredevil is a title that has had so many amazing runs that it wouldn’t feel right to have an anniversary issue without inviting the people who made the book so special for so many years.”
Here’s a gallery of interior pages from series artist Marco Checchetto and Rafael DeLatorre, along with new images from Zdarsky and Romita Jr. :

]]>The post Latest Overwatch patch targets tanks appeared first on Game News.
]]>Earlier today on July 15, Blizzard published a brand new list of patch notes for Overwatch 2 over on the game’s official website (opens in new tab). This new patch seems to be aimed at Tank characters in particular, as Doomfist, Orisa, and Junker Queen have all seen changes to some degree.
For example, Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout ability has seen its radius reduced from 20 to 15 meters, and Orisa’s movement speed with the Javelin Spin ability has been increased from 40 to 50 percent. Elsewhere, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch ability now deals damage to all enemies knocked back by the ability, instead of only just the first target hit.
Additionally, Junker Queen’s Rampage ability has seen its radius reduced from six to five meters, and Orisa’s Fortify ability now disables critical damage. Finally, Doomfist’s Power Block ability has seen its speed penalty while blocking reduced from 50 to 35 percent, and the minimum damage mitigated to empower Rocket Punch has now been decreased from 100 to 90 damage.
Tanks might be the broad focus of this new patch for Overwatch 2’s Beta, but the patch has also hit Symmetra, Sojourn, and Zenyatta. The former has seen the Teleporter ability cooldown reduced from 16 to 12 seconds, while the latter has had his overall shield health reduced from 175 points to 150. Meanwhile, Sojourn’s Railgun fire rate has been reduced from 15 to 14 shots per second.
This is actually the second Overwatch 2 Beta patch this week, as a few days ago, Mercy’s Guardian Angel “super jump” ability was finally fixed with a new update. Elsewhere in the same patch, Moira actually got a full rework, seeing her Biotic Orb ability actually turned into separate abilities, each with different cooldown periods.
Check out our full Overwatch 2 beta impressions to see what we made so far of Blizzard’s upcoming sequel.

]]>The post Tifas fighting style was the hardest to build for Final Fantasy 7 Remake appeared first on Game News.
]]>Square Enix has posted a brand new developer interview blog to their official website (opens in new tab), this time focusing on Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s fifth chapter with those who helped create the RPG. In the game itself, this is a chapter where the player can control a variety of characters in battle, including Cloud, Tifa, Barrett, and Aerith.
When asked if Tifa was a difficult character to balance for the remake, Teruki Endo, battle director for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, confirmed as much. “It was comparatively easy to differentiate Cloud, Barret, and Aerith,” Endo explains. “But we had to think extremely hard about what defining characteristics we should give Tifa,” the battle director continued.
However, Endo believes Square Enix ultimately succeeded in giving added depth to Tifa in the remake’s combat system, by tying her abilities to the ‘Burst’ system. This core pillar of Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s combat governs how much damage enemies can take before they’re stunned, and Tifa has key abilities that massively boost the amount of stagger damage dealt to an enemy.
In our Final Fantasy 7 Remake review from 2020, we heaped praise upon the remake’s overhauled combat system, writing that the combat was “satisfyingly varied” thanks chiefly to each character feeling distinctly different and entertaining to play. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the sequel to Remake and part two of a planned trilogy, should keep the party-based combat going when it arrives next year in Winter 2023.
Here’s why the Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core Reunion remaster is a must-play ahead of Rebirth launching near the end of next year.

]]>The post Ewan McGregor thinks he knows why the Star Wars prequels were panned appeared first on Game News.
]]>In a new interview with GQ UK (opens in new tab), the actor – who recently reprised the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for the first time onscreen since 2005 in the eponymous Jedi’s Disney Plus series – suggested that those tasked with reviewing the trilogy simply “didn’t get” what they thought they were going to.
“I think the critics just wanted to feel like they were seven or eight again,” McGregor explained, reflecting on the negative reception to The Phantom Menace and its two follow-ups. “So I was left with that [reaction] for years and years, and it took [until I started] meeting people, and I realized how important our films have been to them.
“To begin with, all we heard really was the critical side of things,” he recalled. “That was the only voice I remember hearing, and they were not liked. I admire George for having tried to do something different with them. He didn’t just set out to make another three Star Wars films that felt like the original ones. I respected him for that. I think that’s ballsy and interesting.”
Set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi catches up to the titular hero as he watches over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. Before long, though, Obi-Wan finds himself looking after Leia Organa, as the pair try and evade the clutches of Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader.
It is available to stream on Disney Plus now. While it’s unclear whether a second season is on the cards, the show has sparked enthusiasm for a couple of spin-offs, mainly centered on Reva and Darth Vader – and you can read our argument for the latter here. While we wait for more news, check out the upcoming Star Wars movies and shows currently in the works.

]]>The post Gentleman Jack creator says they “were ready to go again” before HBO canceled the series appeared first on Game News.
]]>Last week, the US channel confirmed it would not be moving forward with the historical drama – which is a co-production between the two broadcasters – following its second season. The announcement prompted the cast to reflect on their involvement in the series on Instagram, while fans took to Twitter to launch a #SaveGentlemanJack hashtag.
“It’s been a bit of a surprise really because it’s been doing really well, certainly in this country,” Wainwright explained to Radio Times (opens in new tab). “We were ready to go again, the BBC certainly [is] up for going again.
“I think if HBO had been up for it, there’d have been no question. It’s been a very successful show in all areas for them – it’s had fantastic reviews, it’s had a very respectable audience and on top of that it’s had an impact on the community of gay women. We have the most extraordinary fanbase, they organise all sorts of events.”
Having premiered in 2019, Gentleman Jack centers on real-life Yorkshire-based landowner Anne Lister (Suranne Jones), retroactively dubbed “the first modern lesbian”, as she strikes up a romance – and eventually navigates a secret marriage – with the wealthy Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle), all while juggling male-dominated business ventures in the early 1800s.
Season 2 focused on Ann’s move into Shibden Hall, and the new wives’ efforts to divide their estates – much to the dismay of Ann’s meddling brother-in-law Captain Sutherland (Derek Riddell). Their relationship is tested elsewhere, too, by money troubles, public scrutiny, and Anne’s entanglement with her ex-lover Mariana Lawton (Lydia Leonard).
“I think [it] wouldn’t want to continue with it without it having the same production values,” Wainwright replied, when asked whether the BBC would ever entertain the idea of producing the show on its own.
“So we would need to find another partner who would stream it globally. You know, I think all those other options are being explored at the minute given that there is a desire to go on with it amongst quite a lot of people – the BBC, Lookout Point, myself, you know.”
Gentleman Jack is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK, and HBO Max in the US. If you’ve already binge-watched, then be sure to check out our roundup of the best TV shows of all time for some viewing inspiration.

Save £55 – 50% – We’ve never seen the Fire TV Cube this cheap before, and we’re unsure if this price will be beaten on the day. If you’ve wanted the hands-free 4K all-in-one box for less then this early Prime Day deal is certainly worth considering.
In order to get an accurate picture of what this year’s Amazon Prime Day Fire Stick deals will look like, we can cast our minds back to the last November. The Black Friday period offered up the deepest discounts we’ve seen yet on several of Amazon’s streaming units on everything from the budget options to the premium offerings.
Granted, the savings are rarely too extensive, but there is a consistent pattern that can be observed between all major current-generation Fire Sticks through the world’s largest online retailer. For example, the Fire Stick 4K retails for $49.99, however, we’ve seen this model sell between $30 and $39.99 throughout much of 2022. The lowest-ever historic price that we’re able to verify took place over Black Friday, where this device sold at $24.99 – marking the only time we’ve seen the Fire Stick 4K at under the $30 range to date. It’s the same for shoppers across the pond, too, as the Fire Stick 4K fell to £24.99 in November. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Fire Stick 4K sell at the $25 mark over the 48-hour Prime Day period this year.
It’s a similar story on the budget end of the scale, too. The Fire TV Stick Lite, which normally sells for $29.99, enjoyed its historic lowest ever price over the winter sales events, too, at just $17.99 last November. Throughout 2022, we’ve seen this unit selling at the $20 mark in January and March, so it wouldn’t be too out of left field for this Full HD streaming box to match (or exceed) that Black Friday rate on the day. The cheapest rate in the UK lends credence to this prediction, as the Fire TV Stick Lite was available at its lowest-ever rate of £14.99 in December.
What may be surprising, however, is the price history of the Amazon Fire TV Cube, with the second generation unit experiencing deeper discounts in 2022 than the previous year. While the $119.99 box had its MSRP slashed to $80 last year, we’ve actually seen it as cheap as $69.99 in April 2022. In the UK, the Fire TV Cube sold for £59.99 in November and December, but also as recently as April 2022, too. What does this mean for the upcoming Prime Day Fire Stick deals? Well, we could see the Fire TV Cube retail for half price if this trend is to continue.
Fire Sticks are far from the only thing available in the sales, as we’re also gearing you up for this year’s Prime Day gaming PC deals, Prime Day iPad deals, and Prime Day laptop deals, too.

]]>The post Bob Odenkirk reflects on heart attack he had while filming next Better Call Saul episode appeared first on Game News.
]]>“Next week is the scene where I have the heart attack,” Odenkirk told The Hollywood Reporter (opens in new tab). “And probably about three-quarters of the scene was shot before I had the heart attack, the day of the heart attack, and then the other quarter scene was after.”
He added that he feels “very good” about his health currently, as he opened up about the scare. “I’m in great shape. I’m gonna go to a workout right now,” Odenkirk said. “I didn’t go back to shoot for five weeks. I had a five-week break to recover. And then when I went back, we limited our shooting to 12-hour days… And so they took care of me and I was able to do it, and hopefully, you can’t tell when I had the heart attack and when I didn’t.”
Odenkirk said that the “strangest” part was that he lost “basically about a week and a half” of memory following his heart attack. As a result, he doesn’t remember filming the episode, entitled ‘Fun and Games’, much at all.
The actor was recently nominated for his fifth Emmy for Better Call Saul, marking his 17th overall nomination at the awards. The final season of the show was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, with Odenkirk’s co-star Rhea Seehorn, who plays Kim Wexler, landing a nod as well.
Better Call Saul is airing weekly on AMC and Netflix. To make sure you don’t miss an episode of the series, check out our Better Good Saul release schedule.
