With two of 2014’s most successful movies (22 Jump Street and The LEGO Movie) to their names, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a tough act to follow when it comes to picking future projects. Now it looks as if the in-demand pair are being courted for a superhero venture.
Much speculation surfaced late last year suggesting that the duo were priming a Jump Street-Men In Black crossover for Sony. Shortly after their names were linked to one of the studio’s potential Ghostbusters sequels set to arrive after Paul Feig’s all-female reboot and the Channing Tatum-Chris Pratt outing.
Now, according to a new scoop from the folks at Latino Review, Warner Bros. is after the pair to helm one of its upcoming movies within the gigantic DC Cinematic Universe – The Flash. The standalone adventure is currently positioned for release on March 23 2018 and already has Ezra Miller (The Perks Of Being A Wallflower) attached in the lead role.
While this movie morsel is worth taking with a smidgen of salt it poses an intriguing proposition for the two directors. Jumping ship to helm one of Warners’ superhero capers would be an absolute blast for Lord and Miller and indeed the movie-going public. Their fun take on The Flash is one that we’d definitely line up to see.
